In modern world it is really very difficult to imagine life without
technological advances, that is why, it is one of the main tasks of the
governments to develop the technology of their countries in order to keep
pace with other countries in non-stop changing and developing world. As
technology penetrates into our life more and more day by day, conventional
skills and traditional lifestyles become out of date. Now many people think
that is normal process and attempting to keep traditional style of life is not
useful. I agree with this statement and I will seek to elucidate my point of
view below.
First of all, technological advances replace human labour for the most
part, thus plenty of traditional skills that were in need previously don't make
sense any more. Additionally, it is also clear that technology does things
faster and more accurately than us, and as our skills can never be a good
alternative to them, we don't need to keep them alive.
Secondly, if we don't want to lag behind, we need to adapt to the
modern lifestyle. At this point, attempting to preserve our conventional style
of life and skills is like kocking one's head againist wall. I mean when you
want to adapt to contemporary environment, the last thing that you need is
traditional skills and so, protecting them is no use.
However, some traditional abilities and ways of life are very important
parts of culture. As culture is very important for every country and for each
nation, it is not true to neglect the importance of those types of skills and
lifestyles.
To sum it up, although I don't deny the essence of some old skills and
ways of life because of the above mentioned reasons I agree with the
thought that there is not point in trying to make many of the traditional skills
and lifestyles live off.
DISAGREE
Overall, I disagree with the opinion expressed, I would like to begin by
pointing out that traditional skills and ways of life are not automatically of
one country, but of a culture or community.
In many ways, the history of civilisation is the history of technology:
from the discovery of fire to the invention of the wheel to the development of
the Internet we have been moving on from previous ways of doing things.
Some technologies, such as weapons of mass destruction, are of negative
impact. Others, such as medical advances, positively help people to live
better or longer, and so very much help traditional ways of life. Surely, few
people would seek to preserve such traditions as living in caves.
Interestingly, technology can positively contribute to the keeping alive
of traditional skills and ways of life. For example, the populations of some
islands are too small to have normal schools. Rather than breaking up
families by sending children to the mainland, education authorities have
been able to use the Internet to deliver schooling online. In addition, the
Internet, and modern refrigeration techniques, are being used to keep alive
the traditional skills of producing salmon; it can now be ordered from, and
delivered to, anywhere in the world.
In conclusion, without suggesting that all technology is necessarily
good, I think it is by no means pointless, in any way, to try to keep
traditions alive with technology. We should not ignore technology, because it
can be our friend and support our way of life.

Recently there is an opinion, as the country's policy encourages
technology development, it is unavoidable that the traditional skills and the
ways of life will become dying out. I myself agree with it partially.
There have a variety of causes about such extinction. Firstly it begin
with a lack of confidence.
Traditional craftes was often associated with hand-made process,so
people tend to label the final product with out-fashioned, time-consuming as
well as low-quality. Secondly, the prevalence of new technology interrupts
traditional method of communication such as face-to-face meeting and offers
more new options for people to get in touch with family members and
friends. Individuals would rather contact with their friends by texting
message via cellphone than meet up with each other frequently.
At first, no one can stop the advancing strides of society with the aid of
technology, "Technology makes life more beautiful". It is so nature that some
traditional skills of low productivity will be replaced. For example, some labor
intensive industries like textile had been substituted by machines. Most of
processes relying on hands of workers now can be finished efficiently by
enginery controlled by computers. The original weaving skills together with
the old manual loom have been fading out gradually. Just for this case or
likewise, it is no necessary to spend money to keep the undeveloped status.
To sum up, technology will play its role in the society's moving on
continually, meanwhile, we should give more attention to something
traditional with high value for us in order to not let them fading out with time
flying gradually.

Technological development has always been a key factor for the social
evolution. Many times technological development happened so rapidly that
we can talk about " technological revolution" like the one occurred in the
mid-1700s. when a county develops new technologies, it's inevitable that not
just the tools used but also men's skill and way of life change. In my opinion
traditional skills and way of life do not die out but they become adjusted to
the " new society". And it's not necessary something bad! for example the
first industrial revolution in the mid-1700s radically changed men's life in a
positive way because since then on some risky and dangerous jobs have
been done by new machines and not by human beings.
Moreover the introduction of new technologies and new devices
represents an important power for put economy. This point is evident if we
think about the fact that 10 years ago we didn't know what a smart phone
was. Indeed nowadays smart phones have completely changed our way of
life so that we can be in touch with other people wherever we are and
whenever we want.
But it's also true that we have to manage these technological changes
carefully because they can also affect our lives negatively. . In this case it's
important to strive to keep the traditional skills and way of life alive. To take
another example regarding the revolution brought by smart phones, they can
have a negative effect on children who seems to prefer playing at a device
instead of playing with other children. This may cause a lack of personal
relationship and, as a consequence, they can grow up shy, isolated and
lonely. But the point is: How can we try to keep traditional skills and way of
live alive? and how can we understand which of them are worth to keep
alive? these points are not easy to understand because there's never just a
single right answer but we must always consider a specific situation without
any prejudice. So, if we think that in a certain situation it's worth to act in a
traditional way, we should avoid being influenced by technology. But if we
see that a technological change could make our life easier w, we should
consider the idea of changing our way of life.
Finally to sum up, I can say that I disagree with the previous statement
and that sometimes it's not pointless to strive to keep traditional skills and
life style alive.
When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways
of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do
you agree or disagree with this opinion?
It is certainly irrefutable that today there has been numerous
advancements in technology. This includes progress in agriculture,
infrastructure, research and a host of other essential sectors. Undeniably,
these not only have changed us but also have benefited us tremendously in
many ways. Indeed, our lifestyles these days are different from that of our
ancestors. Therefore, some feel that, as the technology of a country
develops, there is no point practising the traditional skills. However, I agree
to this statement only to a certain extent as I shall discuss the reasons
below.
First and foremost, there are some skills that we can neglect at this
modern age. To illustrate this further, today there is an equipment called
sewing machine. Hence, what is the point of continue using the traditional
way of sewing clothes when there is an easier and a more convenient
choice? Besides that, sewing is definitely less time consuming with a sewing
machine. Apart of that, I am sure that other equipment such as blender, fan,
and an array of other electrical items has indeed made human life seem
comfortable.
Looking from the other perspective, it would be wrong to completely
deny the importance of traditional skills and ways of life in our everyday life.
In my opinion, certain aspects are worth practising. To cite an example, a day
prior to Chinese New Year, family members will meet to have dinner
together. This momentous event is surely essential as it strengthens the
bonds among the family. Small activities like this must be preserved and
passed on to our future generations so that they realize the richness of our
culture.
From my perspective, it is pivotal that we have a balance between the
use of the technology and traditional methods. Ways of life practised by our
forefathers that are advantageous to us should be kept alive. On the other
hand, if they are not that advantageous and consumes a lot of time and
energy, then it is certainly better to switch to the tools that make our life
trouble-free. A successful person in my opinion is an individual who knows
the ways to suit himself according to the situation.
To conclude, traditional skills can be beneficial at times. It is
inappropriate to say that they should be forgotten just because we have new
and modern technologies emerging every day. Thus, let us keep put into
practice both relevant traditional skills and ways of life and also at the same
time take advantage of the technology available.
