OBJECTIVES
Duringthiscourseyouwillbeengagedinunderstandingandutilizingthefollowing:
1. Findingthesum,product,quotient,chain,andpowerrulesimplicitdifferentiation.
2. Determiningmaxima,minima,extrema,pointsofinflection,curvesketching.
3. Findingantiderivative,areabetweencurves,work,approximateintegration.
4. Determininglimitpoints,limitsoffunctions,onesidedandinfinitelimits,andcontinuity.
5. Evaluatingderivativesofandintegralsinvolvingtrigonometricfunctions.
6. Evaluatingderivativesofandintegralsinvolvinglogarithmicandexponentialfunctions,and
applications.
7. Calculatingderivativesofandintegralsinvolvinginversetrigonometricfunctions.

A.Attendance:
EffectiveSpringTerm2010,studentabsenceswillberecordedfromthefirstdaytheclassmeets.
Regularandpunctualattendanceinallclassesandlaboratories,dayandevening,isrequired.Students
whoareabsentforanyreasonshouldalwaysconsultwiththeirinstructors.Coursesyllabimustprovide
specificinformationregardingattendance,including,forcoursesinvolvingtheinternet,onlineactivitythat
constitutesattendance.Also,bothtardinessandearlydeparturefromclassmaybeconsideredforms
ofabsenteeism.Inallcases,studentswillbeheldresponsibleforcompletionofcourserequirements
coveredintheirabsence.
Additionally,itisthestudentsresponsibilitytodropacoursefornonattendance.Courseinstructors
establishpolicywithregardtoattendanceintheirrespectivesyllabiandmaydropastudentforexcessive
absences.Absencesareconsideredexcessivewhenmorethan12.5percentofthetotalcontacthours
ofinstructioninasemester,includinglectureandlab,aremissed.Forexample,inathreecredithour
lectureclass,studentsmaybedroppedaftermorethansixcontacthoursofabsences.Inafourcredit
hourlecture/labclass,studentsmaybedroppedaftermorethaneightcontacthoursofabsences.
Absencesarecountedregardlessofwhethertheyoccurconsecutively.
Inspecialprogramswithadditionalaccreditationorcertificationstandards,additionalattendance
requirementsmaybeenforcedbutfacultymustclearlyexplainthesepoliciesintheirsyllabi.Students
whostopattendingclassforanyreasonshouldcontacttheinstructorandthecollegeregistrartoofficially
withdrawfromtheclass.Studentsmayberequiredtoconsultwithanadvisorordesigneebefore
