intake slide, a controlled exhaust valve, high-voltage electrical vibrator
ignition with spark plug, and water/thermo siphon evaporation cooling.
5.3 On January 29, 1886, Benz applied for a patent for his vehicle powered by a
gas engine.
5.4 The patent number 37435 may be regarded as the birth certificate of the
automobile.

New York.
3.3 The first air conditioner, designed and built in Buffalo by Carrier, began working on 17
July 1902.

3.4 Carrier's invention controlled not only temperature but also humidity.
3.5 Instead of sending air through hot coils, he sent it through cold coils (filled with cold water).

3.6 The air was cooled, and thereby the amount of moisture in the air could be controlled, which in
turn made the humidity in the room controllable.

System" and was first used with the Xerox Alto computer system in 1973.

4.3 Using the mouse, Douglas was able to demonstrate moving a mouse cursor on the Alto
computer in The Mother of All Demos.
4.4 However, because of its lack of success, the first widely used mouse is the mouse found on the
Apple Lisa computer.

diaphragm and Jensen was denied patents.
10.3Being unsuccessful in selling their product to telephone companies, in 1915 they changed their
target market to radios and public address systems, and named their product Magnavox.
10.4Jensen was, for years after the invention of the loudspeaker, a part owner of The Magnavox
