Time spent correcting the class clown is time

lost for activities. Please be ready to work
when the bell rings. If you are not in the room
when the bell rings, you are tardy. If tardy, it
will be considered unexcused unless you have
an admit from the person who kept you.
School rules pertaining to gum, candy, tardies,
respect for property, classroom behavior, etc.,
are in effect. Do not expect warnings. Please
follow the rules and use common sense.
A science lab can be a dangerous place. Please
do not bother science lab or other materials in
the room. If an accident occurs, notify the
teacher immediately.

Please TEAR OFF, SIGN and RETURN this slip tomorrow. The $5.00 lab fee is due at this
time.

If you do your work to the best of your ability,

you should not have any trouble getting an
acceptable grade. If, however, you do not
participate or do not do your assignments, it
becomes very difficult to get a satisfactory
grade. Make it a habit to do all of your
assignments.

To help students record their thinking, stay

organized, and to show a record of what they have
learned through the course of the year, students will
be required to have a science notebook. It will have
three sections in it for warm ups, lessons, and
vocabulary. By Friday, August 12, 2016, please
make sure you have a composition notebook for
science class and a two pocket folder. We will
take care of the rest.

Students:

This year in science many new topics will be

explored in the areas of physical science, life
science, and earth science. You will have the
opportunity to learn many new science
concepts. You will do numerous lab exercises
and activities. It will be important for you to
be prepared each day so that you can
contribute to the work in class. Many of the
activities will be done in groups, so others will
be depending on you to do your part. Be sure
you are ready to participate.

I have read this information sheet. I understand what is expected of me and I will do it the best
of my ability.
