Lesson aims (e.g. By the end of the observed session learners will know/learn/be able to/have
practised etc):

Learners will have revised and produced questions formations with and without auxiliaries
by writing their own quizzes.

Learners will have used their existing music vocabulary in the context of what music they
like to listen to.
Learners will have been introduced to a broader range of question words such as How
many, How long, Which, Whose and How many.

Timetable fit (How does the observed lesson relate to the rest of the day/week?):
The learners have been learning about the Past Simple and Past Continuous, this lesson links in
with the idea of things that happened in the past. Although learners are also introduced to question
forms in the present, the previous lessons should have given a good introduction.

Materials: (Please include a copy of materials)


The materials are from New English File Pre Intermediate. The communicative activity was taken
from the New English file Teachers book.

Anticipated problems: (e.g. learners may have fossilised errors, language/knowledge gaps,
mixed ability learners may achieve learning outcomes/complete tasks at a different)

Learners may confuse the word order of questions.


Learners may try to use the Past Simple verb form after the auxiliaries.
