Describe the task *
In detail, what was the aim of the task? How many teams? What was the team dynamic?
Timings? Rules & restrictions?
The aim was building a fort, we were all given sticks, plastic sheeting and ropes to make

a defense against the other team. In the fort we placed a flag and each team had to try
to get the other teams flag. We had to plan and construct the fort. There was a certain
amount of time to make the defense.
What was your role in the team? *
What did you do? How did you contribute? Leader or teamworker?

My role was giving directions to make the defences for the fort. I could see what they
were building but I could not talk or help to make the defense.
How did you perform as an individual? *
For the M & D criteria make comparisons with other individual performances in your team
and relate to theory.
As an individual I thought that I performed well because I gave instructions on how to make
the defense.
How did you perform as a team? *
For the M & D criteria make comparisons with other team performances and relate to theory.
As a team I thought that one of the teams made a defense around the fort so the other team
could not get in easily. There was a time limit to complete the defense in. As a team the
people who could talk gave instructions on how to build the defense.
What were your strengths? *
Communication, problem solving, time management, supporting others, physical abilities,
confidence, motivation, resolving conflict, praise, questioning, body language, listening,
awareness, creativity etc

My strengths was listening to the people who can talk give their ideas and how they
would build it.
What were your weaknesses? *
Communication, problem solving, time management, supporting others, physical abilities,
confidence, motivation, resolving conflict, praise, questioning, body language, listening,
awareness, creativity etc

My weakness was communication. I could of asked the other people who were able to
talk on what ideas they had.
How could you improve for next time? *
Make future recommendations for yourself, your team and other individuals / teams.

Next time I could try and communicate more by giving ideas and how to build a defense. For
the team I thought that I could give directions.

Was there any conflict in the group? *


If yes, describe why and how was it resolved? If no, what did the leader do to ensure this
was the case?

There was not really any conflict going on in the team when building the fort. The people
who could talk gave directions and the people who could not talk listened and followed
instructions from the people who gave directions.
How else could you use relevant theory to analyse the overall performance today? *
Leadership styles, Belbin, Tuckman, Adair, Honey, Margerison & Mccann, Woodcock,
The rest of the team was team workers because they listened on how to make the

defense without talking. These leadership styles are from Belbins theory.
