BALICO, DANNY H.
Reserve officer
Joseph Bacera, a reserve officer, was sentenced to two years probation for
covering up the assaults of two game room patrons by another officer in
2014. The assaults were captured on video. Bacera also was fined $10,000.
A federal judge said the prosecution of Bacera and another officer, Nelson
Tamayori, and the resulting felony conviction would serve as deterrent to
other officers about breaking the law. The judge said imprisonment would
not be in the public interest.
Federal
Danny Balico was arrested in July 2016 on suspicion of drunk driving. The
case is pending.
