SUNDAY SCHOOL BANQUET DATE CHANGE

The date for the Sunday School Teacher Appreciation
Banquet has been changed to August 25. Please call the
church office to sign up to attend.

HIGH ATTENDANCE SUNDAY

High attendance Sunday will be August 28. We will have
only one service at 11:00 followed by a covered dish lunch.
The church will provide fried chicken and asks that members
bring sides and desserts. Feel free to wear your favorite
school colors and join us for worship and fellowship as we
kick off the new Sunday School year.

SAINTS ALIVE
A new year of Saints Alive has started. The Saints Alive
Choir is for singers of all experience levels who enjoy
praising the Lord. We will be rehearsing and singing in
church throughout the fall and into the winter. We will be
sharing special music in the evening service this Sunday,
August 21. Were singing Unspeakable Joy Medley. Meet
in the Choir room at 6:15 for our final rehearsal, and
remember to wear your white SA shirts and black pants.
Remember our goal for enlarging the choir and do your part
to make it happen!
The date the choir has selected to attend the state Festival is
October 6-7. Mark your calendar and signup next Monday
to attend this great event in Toccoa, Ga. Bring a friend and
come into His presence with singing, and into His courts
with praise!

CHILDRENS CHOIRS
Our kickoff date for our graded choirs was last Wednesday,
August 17. Schools are back in session and we have an
exciting year of music and praise in store for each of our
children. Choirs meet from 5:45 to 6:25 each Wednesday
evening.

BIRTHDAY WISHES
Merita Rowan, the oldest member of FBC, turns 104 years
old on Saturday, August 27. Wont you send her a card of

Promotion Sunday

Sunday, August 28
We will promote up to the next age or grade level on Sunday, August
28 at the end of the Sunday School hour. Remember, this is also High
Attendance Sunday, so be sure that any visitors you bring know where
to drop and pick up their children. If you or they need any assistance,
please do not hesitate to ask me!

Sunday School Teachers Needed

Promotion Sunday is just around the corner and I am still searching for
4 Sunday School teachers. I have asked many personally, but I want
everyone to be praying and know there is still a need. I know God
knows exactly who will be teaching even if I do not. I pray that
whoever it is will be obedient to the call! If you are interested, please
call, text or email me so we can begin to pray together and seek God's
direction for your service to FBC.

Temporary Part Time Nursery Worker Needed

The Preschool Committee is searching for a temporary replacement
nursery worker for Sunday and Wednesday Evenings. Qualifications
include submitting a background check, completion of application and
interview, and must be at least 20 years of age. Please take an
application from the office and pass it to anyone who may be interested
in this ministry.

Early & Extended Session

2016-2017
We are on the lookout for individuals and families that will join us as
we serve during our services. We need people for both Early and
Extended and age groups Babies-2s and 3s-5s. If you are willing to
serve, please let me know! My email and cell phone are below.

In the first chapter of the gospel of John, we

can read the account of Jesus meeting with the
men who would become his disciples. One of
those men we read about is named Andrew.
Verses 41-42 tells us that Andrew first went
and found his brother Simon and brought him
to Jesus.
Sunday morning, August 28th, we will have
our high attendance Sunday and will kick off
the new church year. We will have one united
service at 11:00 in the Sanctuary followed by
lunch together in the fellowship hall. This is
the perfect opportunity to be like Andrew.
Who do you know that needs to be brought to
Jesus? Invite them to church with you on
August 28th and lets have the greatest Sunday
in the history of First Baptist!!
