Tim Horton Childrens Foundation (THCF) former campers share their
story in hopes of helping more kids go to camp
THCF and Edge Imaging partner to promote #CampDay on June 1st

Burlington, ON May 12, 2016 Award winning Canadian school photography company, Edge
Imaging is proud to announce a partnership with the Tim Horton Childrens Foundation (THCF).
Edge hosted an event at their Burlington, Ontario facility earlier today to promote Camp Day,
the Foundations largest fundraiser, happening on June 1. Former THCF campers shared the
positive impact that attending one of the six THCF camps across Canada had on their lives and
the valuable life lessons learned during their experience.

#CampDay is our largest source of revenue and this fundraiser is driven by participating Tim
Hortons restaurants in all of our communities, states Cara Ziegler, Manager, Corporate
Partnerships at the THCF. We are grateful for all of our corporate partners, like Edge, who build
on the success of #CampDay and further our ability to provide meaningful and intentional camp
experiences for children from low-income families year after year, adds Ziegler.

Statistics show that kids who grow up in low income families are:
less likely to graduate from high school or go on to post-secondary education
more likely to witness violence
at higher risk of living in poverty and relying on social assistance when they are
adults
more likely to have children before they are able to support them
The THCF is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to giving kids the opportunity to
develop life skills that can help set them on a different path. By the end of 2016, the Foundation
will have served more than 237,000 kids since their inception in 1974.

Many life changing stories were shared at the #ItsAlmostCampDayJune1 event such as that of
now 25 year old former graduate of the THCF Youth Leadership Program (YLP), Thea Mizuhara.

Thea credits the YLP for important life lessons on leadership, acceptance, and
perspective that allowed her to flourish in her insecure teenage years to become
motivated and independent. She is an advocate for the life changing benefits of the YLP
and attributes it to allowing her to achieve the confidence and communication skills to
continue to grow long after graduating the program.


Empowering kids is a core value of Edge Imaging and is what drives our Corporate Social

the school photography industry, we are committed to helping better the future of children.
Given that THCF camp experiences are designed to positively change the way young people
from low-income families view themselves and their future opportunities, this partnership was a

Currently, Edge Imaging has provided over $25,000 in in-kind services in the form of
photography and printing photographs for camper scrapbooks. Edge Imaging will also be
contributing a monetary donation where a portion of the proceeds from a new fall product, a
THCF photo calendar, will go back to the Foundation.

About Camp Day:
Tim Hortons Camp Day is Wednesday, June 1st. 100% of all coffee proceeds from participating
restaurants are donated to the Tim Horton Childrens Foundation. Last year, $12.4M was raised.
