In the meeting room of Pudakpayung Public Health Center, the people gather. They

consist of vice of health cadre in every citizens association of Pudakpayung and Gedawang,
vice of Family Welfare Guidance members in Pudakpayung and Gedawang, and also vice of
Pudakpayung and Gedawang employees. The total of participants is 30.

Alhamdulillah. Before we start our presentation, lets introduce our
selves. We are employee Health Department of Semarang. My name is Ayu,
and she is Mrs. Caslina, she is dr. Eva, and the last one is Mr. Aidi. Its an
honor for us to present in front of you.
In the very special occasion, I would like to introduce the speaker to
you. Her name is Mrs Susanawati _ Eva Susanawati, she is a doctor in Health
Department of Semarang,she is 31 years old and she lived

at Tuntang,

Salatiga City.
We would like to talk about Dengue Fever. The purpose of this
presentation is to update you on dengue fever issue. We shall only take 45
minutes of your time. I will divided this presentation into 3 part, they are
presentation, discussion, and evaluation.

mosquito bite named Aedes.

be spread by aedes aegypti mosquito bite and show the signs like fever up

Assalamualaikum wr.wb ladies and gentlemen..
Lets start the presentation.
The high number of DHF case in Central Java is caused due to an
unstable climate and rainfall is quite high during the rainy season
which is a means of mosquito breeding Aedes aegypty considerable
potential causing Extraordinary Events

dengue disease in some

districts even in some provinces (Deptartement of Health, 2008). In


Semarang, dengue fever is still ranked first in Central Java, in 2014
there were 1.628 patients with a number of deaths by 27 people
(Semarang of Public Health Office, 2015).
Dengue fever is an infectious disease that has sudden onset rapidly in
short time can be danger and deadly. So far, the vaccine has found yet.
Dengue fever is transmitted by aedes mosquitoes.
Dengue fever is caused by dengue viral, transmitted to the people by
mosquitoes bite of Aegypti Aedes and Albopictus Aedes. Where the
mosquito is happy to live and lay their eggs in places that are puddles

like in jars, vases, bathroom tub, etc. Thanks for your attention.
: Then Presenter 2 is Mr.Saman _ Aidi Absar Saman, he is 30 years old, He
is a Nurse in Health Department of Semarang and He Lived at Ungaran. Mr.
Aidi will discuss the signs and symptoms and the prevention of dengue
fever. Please Welcome Mr. Aidi, time is yours.

The signs and symptoms of Dengue Fever are:
- Fever suddenly ( body temperature is 38-40 0 C or more) for two until

seven days
Red spots in the skin
Nosebleed
Vomit and sometimes there is blood in defecation
Heartburn
Anxious and restless, pre shock
Then to prevent the disease, we can break the chain of mosquitoes with

some methods. They are:


Do Mosquito eradication with 3 methods ( drain, close, and recycle)
in this case, foging is not the main way because there are some
weaknesses such as need special technique and personnel, air pollution,

increase mosquito immunity, just kill the musquitoes, not kill eggs, and

larvae, and also expensive


- Cultivate the fish that can eat mosquitoes
- Use larvasida
- Use curtain and lotion anti mosquitoes
- Design your bathroom without bathtub
- Use wire anti mosquitoes in the ventilations
- Avoid dark color in your home
- Check the mosquitoes breeding places
- Maintain mosquito repellent plants

Health Department of Semarang . She lived at Gunung Pati. She will
demonstrate on remplit test, how to make mosquito traps and explain the
initial treatment at home. Please Welcome Mrs. Caslina, time is yours.
: Thank you Mrs. Ayu. This time I would like to demonstrate on remplit test.
Is there any who are willing to be patient ? Oke thank you for your
Willingness. Then explain the initial treatment at home :
Give the child plenty to drink ORS or fruit juice, water starch, water
syrup, milk, to replace the fluids lost due to leakage of plasma, fever,
vomiting / diarrhea.
Give paracetamol if the fever. Do not give aspirin or ibuprofen because
these drugs can stimulate the occurrence of bleeding.
Refer immediately to the hospital.
And now I would like to demonstrate how to make mosquito traps :
Tools and materials:
Plastic bottles of mineral drinks sizes of 1.5 liters or more.
Isolation / duct tape.
Black plastic or paper.
Cutting blades (can be a knife Cutter).
Prepare as much as 200 ml of hot water.
Approximately 50 grams of brown sugar.
Yeast powder 1 g.
How to make :
1. Cut the top of a 1.5 liters bottel
2. Mix 200 ml of warm water with 50 g of sugar
3. When the mixture cools down, add 1 g of yeast (no need to stir)
4. Invert the bottel top into the bottel
5. Wrap it a plastic bag or news papers
6. Place it in a dark corner and wait for your preys.
