earth closest to the sun? Farthest away? How does the angle of the sunrays affect the temperature on
earth? Draw a picture showing one year’s orbit of the earth around the sun.
*Make three columns on a separate sheet of paper. Label them with this week’s Greek and Latin roots.
Under each root, write the spelling words that derive from each root.
*Write each word twice. Circle the part of the word that contains the Greek or Latin root.
*Write a short science fiction story involving at least 5 of your spelling words.
*Research the phases of the moon. Sketch and label them.
*Find a collection of poetry (4+ poems) based either on the sun or the moon. Copy them, with the author’s
names, and reflect on why you like them.
*Write your own collection of poetry (4+ poems) based either on the sun or the moon.
*Make a list of things you appreciate about the sun, or activities you like to do in the sun. (15+)
