Everyone has a role to play in waste segregation.

Discuss
1. Yourself
I should be more alerted about the importance of waste segregation. Learning how to
differentiate waste is essential so I will know to segregate the waste later on. I will
take part on this and begin in my own house by starting to segregate those waste
which consist of biodegradable waste and non biodegradable waste. By segregating
waste, I can also avoid serious health problems caused by hazardous waste. When
not disposed properly, a lot of items in the trash bin are dangerous to health.
Batteries, all sorts of electronics, paint or aerosol cans cause harm to humans and
the environment. So they definitely have to be disposed separately.
2) Family
They should start to educate their children about waste segregation. It is important
because their children need to know about this and they will also gonna have to play
their roles. By teaching them, they also teach themselves to be more responsible and
increase their knowledge about waste segregation. They can start to train their
children to segregate waste in the house itself and encourage a better behaviour.
Many parts of waste could be reused for other purpose so parents could be more
creative by reusing any of usable waste and teach their children how to do it. If the
entire family practiced waste segregation in their house, it will make the work of the
waste sorters easier and more efficient.
3) Citizens
The citizens should also play their roles on waste segregation. It is because the law
of segregating waste has been enforced in the country and by taking their roles, it will
help them to avoid any fining and to maintain cleanliness of their surroundings. They
should cooperate with each other and to the government to make waste segregation
in our country to be successful. By segregating waste, it can make us as a
responsible citizen who cared for the environment and to show support for the
government on this programme. Other than that, it can also increase the recycling
rate. The fact that plastic needs more than a thousand years to completely
decompose should make clear enough why recycling is crucial. Recycled waste is
returned into the product cycle and thus does not end up on landfill, in the ocean or in
rivers.
4) Government
The government should enforce the law of segregating waste in each of every states of our
country so waste segregation could be fully practiced by everyone. They should create an
awareness among the citizens about their rights and responsibilities towards solid waste and
the cleanliness of their city. Any citizens who did not take their responsibilities by segregating
their waste should be taken action by fining them. They will also have prepare bins and other
facilities to help them comply the law. This could help our country to move towards a greener
country and increasing the recycling rates which will help to reduce the strain on our landfill
system and help lower the cost of raw materials
