success
Experience
Assistant Manager, Samtel Avionics Ltd. June 2012 to Present.

Projects
1. 24.0 Ruggedised console mount flat panel displays.
Design, develop and deliver 24.0 Ruggedised Touch and Non Touch Displays
which shall be fitted in a console on P-8 Aircraft.
My role in the project was to design the whole mechanical packaging of the
display by collaborating with the optics and electronics design teams. Design a
system which provides structural rigidity, effective thermal management, EMI/
EMC protection. Optimising the 3D Model on basis of Structural and Thermal
Analysis reports. Supervising the Build of Lab, Engineering and Qualification
Testing Units. Design fixtures for Ruggedisation process, Optical Testing,
Vibration Testing, Generating 2D drawings and making technical documents.
One of the major breakthrough in the project was the effective redesign and change
in bonding technique of the touchscreen version which absorbed the new changed
touchscreen, solved the backlight bleeding and light leakage issue and helped the
touchscreen version gain a crucial 8 months and come in line with the delivery
schedule of Non touch unit.
I have been actively involved with the vendor responsible for fabrication of Mparts and strategic sourcing department to ensure the timely delivery of M-parts,
foresee the rework at vendor side during the development cycle of the product.
Also collaborated with the IQC Department during the First article inspection of
manufactured parts for QT units by providing them the necessary controlled

drawings and documents and helping the Methods department to develop

checklists and check sheets to ensure the smooth transition of product from Design
Department to the production department.
Apart from this I have also been involved in handling the communications with the
client and help resolve the problems/issues listed by client in various issue logs and
Client Meetings.
2. 7.0 and 2.80 Display Head Assembly.
These were two small sized NVG Compliant DHAs which were to be used in a 7.0
Handheld tablet and a 2.80 Wrist watch which are being developed for the
FINSAS (Future Infantry Soldier as a system)-2020 Project.
My role was to study the available OEM Design of the LCD Module and Come up
with a Design which effectively uses maximum possible OEM supplied parts,
absorbs the necessary parts to make the DHA NVG compliant and meets the
clients requirement. The major challenge was to adhere to the thickness
requirement of the Client i.e. 7mm for the 7.0 DHA and 4.0 mm for the 2.80
DHA.
While closely working with the Electronics and Optics team I successfully
designed and demonstrated the Product to the client. Handed over to the product to
the Production Department, and supervised the assembly and delivery for 30 pieces
each.
3. 7.0 Ruggedised HD Display Head Assembly.
Owing to the successful Delivery of the 7.0 DHA to the client this was a repeat
order with major changes owing us to customise the design according to the
changed needs of client.
This involved a total redesign of each and every part of the module.
Have currently successfully demonstrated the prototype units to the client.
4. Ruggedised DHA CW 21.5
To Design a High Definition Ruggedised DHA which shall join the Production
family of 17.0 DHA having the look and feel of the in production 17.0 DHA.
Meeting the stringent thermal and weight requirement of the product as specified
by the customer.

5. 19.0 Panel Mount PC

My role in this project was to supervise the Environmental Stress Screening which
ensured the Unit to stresses such as thermal cycling and vibration in order to force
latent defects to manifest themselves by permanent or catastrophic failure during
the screening process. In accordance with MIL STD 810-F.
