Procedure

Apparatus set-up
1) The top plate of the apparatus and the transparent casing was removed.
2) Measure the nozzle diameter.
3) The flat target was screwed onto the bar connected to the weight pan.
4) Reassembled, the apparatus was placed in the bench channel.
5) Then the apparatus hose was connected to the water supply.
6) The base of the apparatus was assured to be leveled.
7) The pointer was adjusted so that
it is level with the datum line on
the weight pan - minimizing friction
in the spring by oscillating the
weight pan

Method
1) A 50g weight was placed on the
weight pan.
2) The power at the wall socket
was turned on.
3) At the bench control panel, the pump was then turned on and the red
valve was opened to turn on the water supply.
4) The flow rate was adjusted using the red valve until the datum line on the
weight pan is once again level with the pointer.
5) The flow was measured by dropping the ball plug and by measuring
volume increase with time using the upper volume indicator on the side of
the bench. The stopwatch was started when the level reaches 20 liters and
till it reached 30 liters.
6) The experiment was repeated with different weights on the weight pan
and until required sets of reading was obtained.

7) The experiment was repeated using different shapes of targets.
