Power Xpert Energy Viewer (PXEV) Software

Update Energy Viewer v.1.1.4 is now available

Required:
Latest version of Java 7 installed on PC
Network-connected PC with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox
or equivalent Web Browser
Purpose:
Periodically, Eaton releases software updates for some of its products.
With each new release, new features become available and often, old
issues are corrected. In addition to guiding you through the update process
this document identifies several items that need to be addressed before
and after the update has been completed.
Update Notes:
Before downloading the update and if you have the previous version of the
Power Xpert Energy Viewer or Energy Usability Tool on your PC it must be
uninstalled:
1. Changes to various descriptions on the User screens from EUT or
Energy Usability Tool to EV or Energy Viewer.
2. Corrected a communication issue with the PXG200E, PXG600E, and
PXG800E hardware running firmware v.5.04.
3. Added the PXM2280 and PXM2290 to the supported devices that the
PXEV can collect data from their interval logs.

Update Procedure:
1. Before downloading the update and if you have the previous version of
the Power Xpert Energy Viewer or Energy Usability Tool on your PC it must
be uninstalled:
2. Use your browser to connect to the web page of the Power Xpert Energy
Viewer, www.eaton.com/pxev to download the updated PXEV.
3. From the PXEVs web page, click on the link title Power Xpert Energy
Viewer Software on the right side of the features tab.
4. Then follow the prompts to download the software to your PC.
5. Once the software has been downloaded to your PC, please make sure
the file has not been encrypted on your PC, or save it to a location where
files are not automatically or required to be encrypted. If the msi file is
encrypted, please follow the steps below to remove the encryption:
1. Right click on the file: Energy Viewer 1.1.4.msi and then click on
Properties
2. In the General tab, click Advanced
3. Uncheck Encrypt contents to secure data.
6. Follow the prompts to get the PXEV Software activated and running on
your PC. If you double click the msi file and nothing happens, please verify
you have Java installed on your PC and the latest Java firmware release
available.
7. Once the Power Xpert Energy Viewer is installed on your PC, double
click on the Power Xpert Energy Viewer folder, which gives you access to
the Help file folder as well as the PX Energy Viewer.jar file double click the
.far file to start the Power Xpert Energy Viewer.

This completes the update process.
