Abstract
Reason and Wisdom has fascinated philosophers, poets, psychologists, spiritual
leaders and academicians since very beginning. Both reason and wisdom has served the
human civilization professedly by epistemic-ally and spiritually. After 19th century
application of both became a very debatable issue and created a vacuum between
Western and Eastern societies. Western philosophers/ thinkers re lied highly on
application of reason and left its natural cause while as eastern communities are talking
much about wisdom but at present failed to achieve its objectives due to their reservation
about application of reason on all matters Allama Iqbal a poet philosopher of East
discussed both reason and Wisdom under the title of Danish-I Noorani and Danish-I
Burhani. He is of the view that wisdom means ability to know the nature of the things and
having knowledge and good judgment about the existence of bodies in conformity with
aqeedat ud Tauhid. He is of the view that everything by its nature confirms the unity of
God however reason helps to understand its operational aspect. The criteria of the
reason is to achieve the higher status which is described by Allama Iqbal as the might of
the man of faith is the might of the almighty, which is central, creative inventive and
flawless.
