Aside from nursing, there are no other profession that offers opportunity
to make a difference in the lives of people who are truly in need of help,
healthwise and emotionwise.
We asked nurses via our Facebook page to know what they think what a
nurse should posses to become an exceptionally good one and here's
what some of them have to say:
1. Caring.
Jasmine Johnston An exceptional nurse would be one who actually cares for each individual and can mindfully listen to
his patients as if they were his own family.
Lisa Frost An exceptional nurse goes extra mile to make the patient feel better with the lifelong desire to help others.
Yassi Jade A nurse is always willing to help whoever is in need of medical attention anytime, anywhere.
Lo Ves Sharing one's self for the sake of unconditional care.
2. Compassionate.
Terri Hunter Being compassionate by trying to put yourself in your patient's shoes and having the desire to listen to
them.
Coleen O'Brien A good nurse is a good listener. Without this skill, the patient is doomed.
Heather Morris Not going home right after the duty as you always want to tie up loose ends through listening to your
patients' story over a cup of tea.
Lovella Alma Bogacon Good heart and empathy and praying for patients' condition is also what makes a nurse
extraordinary.
3. Sense of humor.
Sandra D. Berkel An exceptional nurse utilizes his break times talking to patients to share a good laugh or two to make
them forget the pain they're feeling even for a while and to keep them going in the tough times.
4. Professionalism.
Judy Whitehair A nurse is exceptional if he possess the ability to balance assertiveness with kind spirit.
Shiela Clark Has the passion to educate his fellow nurses and his patients.
Pat Robinson Going above and beyond the call of duty. Continuously pursuing excellence.
5. Resourceful and Clever.
Sherri Nikki Bronson Crawford Not being afraid to say I don't know but I will find out and do so. Understands what's
said and not said, can maneuver a no into a yes. And possesses the ability to think out of the box especially when a nurse
is in a facility that's not sufficiently supplied.
There are many other ingredients that make nurses extraordinary. But one thing is for sure, he who sees nursing as a
calling rather than a profession is exceptional.
Interesting? Helpful? Then share this to your friends.
