WaystoImproveAccuracyinMeasurement
1.Makethemeasurementwithaninstrumentthathasthehighestlevelofprecision.The
smallertheunit,orfractionofaunit,onthemeasuringdevice,themorepreciselythedevice
canmeasure.Theprecisionofameasuringinstrumentisdeterminedbythesmallestunitto
whichitcanmeasure.
2.Knowyourtools!Applycorrecttechniqueswhenusingthemeasuringinstrumentand
readingthevaluemeasured.Avoidtheerrorcalled"parallax"alwaystakereadingsby
lookingstraightdown(orahead)atthemeasuringdevice.Lookingatthemeasuringdevice
fromaleftorrightanglewillgiveanincorrectvalue.
3.Repeatthesamemeasureseveraltimestogetagoodaveragevalue.
4.Measureundercontrolledconditions.Iftheobjectyouaremeasuringcouldchangesize
