LACC protects abuse by attempting to selectively

repress the blogosphere
is LACC's district counsel trying to suppress my coverage of the underage
harassment scandal? sheila dharod has helped the victim file charges against
the ASO government official who allegedly harassed her and fed her alcohol
on the ASO trip to sacramento.

the victim dropped out of school.

harassment messes up your life and your peace of mind. it messes up your
sense of safety.

why do plenty of other campus orgs get to have facebooks get to play free
speech but now my IP viability is being shut down.

what is this, the great firewall of LACC?

just because i know how to manipulate google indexing through repetition

and key words my blog floats to the top for many google searches. say search
"harassment" and "LACC."
why doesn't eric kim write google and tell them he thinks blogger is a bad
idea and we shouldn't let non-PHD's have ideas in public.

and maybe he should tell jack dorsey that twitter should go down. or like any
other company, he could just buy me.
buy: http://twitter.com/LACCharass or tell that wild and crazy guy
zuckerberg that Facebook is making LACC look bad. so please can we just
TURN OFF THE INTERNET????????
http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100001079162018

and what about my youtube channel. shouldn't he get all mad that youtube
exists? and bambuser?
i really just think i and sheila dharod should be publicly executed or tarred
and feathered on LACC's quad to punish us for fighting this school's laziness
and corruption.

we are fighting for women to be free from harassment and as women, to

exist, and to have a voice of some kind. i want to help everybody. as we are
relegated to the blogosphere in some ways while our predominantly male
professors have paid jobs protecting/issuing harassment/epithets . . . well
good thing they have eric kim to try to convince me about intellectual
property notions . . .
this is how i feel about IP: all wrongs reserved! copyleft!
domain name law is so new and so wild, i am not so silly.

i think eric needs to write google, but i am not a lawyer, despite being
obsessed with cyberlaw. tell them, wawa.

there's nothing like a good gag order!

i just would like to request a comprehensive and thorough gag order.

so, dear LACC gen couns. please give me the works!!! ask me to gut my
youtube!
http://www.youtube.com/user/maryeng1
this is what needs to get covered up:

one that covers all my youtube videos mentioning the name LACC, my twitter
my fafafafafaffacebook (yes i really i really don't like facebook, i'm just trying
to more adequately kiss up to accel, in-q-tel, and narus insight . . . and get
surveilled/crunched/commodified)

what about this website that grabbed my copyleft youtube of the creepy
extraction of sheila dharod.
http://videos.apnicommunity.com/Video,Item,1488035855.html
they are making ad-rev off LACC harassment. at least they are turning it into
something positive:$
total human liberation

free your mind from hatred

be free
free from violent speech
inequality
free humanity

now i don't necessarily endorse the personal way

now i don't necessarily endorse the personal way this is said. but what i like
is that fink notices the double standard of free speech for sexism, but zero
speech for women.

i might say it differently.

he wrote me this afternoon:

"This guy is a hypocrite and a coward. Let's see he can hide behind the First
Amendment so can spew his sexist speech but you don't have the same First
Amendment right to speak about what you find objectionable about his speech. He is
a real tough guy when he corners a student and threatens her with the pain of
suspension from exercising her rights but when the student retains a lawyer and
challenges his legal right to censor the students speech he gets riles up, spews
nonsense (jump in a pool) and then clams up."

listen to the mp4 of the coercive "mandatory" meeting with threatened

suspension. sorry about my long introduction.
http://bambuser.com/channel/laccequalitycoalition/broadcast/779728

the main highlights:

eckford
main points:
1. you are inappropriate
2. you do not have a PHD
3. you have to stop activity online and writing

they said some funny things---like---all a teacher has is their reputation, so if

it is damaged ....

they are so funny because on the one hand they defend the use of the
language---but if i report it they are totally humiliated and embarrassed

i really want fink to represent sheila dharod v. LACC ASO.

they need to start shaking in their boots for what they've done.

we could call it the karma defense fund.

and fundraise to support students speech rights and protection from

discrimination.

make a foundation to support students and make a progressive campus.

I am a concerned LACC student who happened to come across your blog.

I'm glad you are doing something about this department. In March I asked
Eckford for applications for the Social Science department scholarships. He
told me and other students that there would be no scholarships this year due
to funding issues.

Oh, turns out, there were scholarships awarded. Perhaps he only gave
applications to people he personally knows?

He also hasn't given out any information about the Social Science honors
society, which gives out awards/inducts students every May. It's almost June
and the LACC social science department website hasn't been updated to
reflect anything about this. What the hell is going on here....?

I hope this whole department goes down.

jump in a pool of water: teacher to lawyer advice
can you imagine a head of an academic department telling a lawyer
representing a student
to "jump in a pool of water." i think that is a polite way to say, go drown
yourself, or go for a swim.

then if the head of the department said he would "hang up on your dumb
ass," wow . . . well it happened.

i was hoping fink could help sort out whether or not i was in a coercive little
meeting today designed to intimidate me out of my "free speech" "rights"
with a threat of suspension from class.

fink mentioned i should check

out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharine_MacKinnon

wow.
fink was so nice and complimentary and said i was so bright and had a great
vocab. i really needed some support bc i have been so down lately.

so as i attempted to conform to the censorship order earlier i began to

copy/paste [1984] in place of names and * in place of foul words i hear at
school.

and so i am interested at the typography. it looks cool and surrealist and

futuristic and firewallish.

fink said why not let them suspend me and then see what's next. or delete it,
or censor.
i don't think we're sure what's going on here.

why do the teachers get unlimited speech, and i get none, none in school and
none on the blogosphere.

as to accusation of libel or defamation, sadly truth is a defense to libel.

and as i am not a liar, and i use the subjectivity of my personal journalistic
first person, i believe no libel has occurred.

interestingly, teacher was willing to lie on the anorexia bulimia no sympathy

statement, and change it to corn syrup. interesting.

so i can't decide what to do, but feel that a censored blog is better than no
blog and no grade and a suspension.

yet i resist the muffling of speech.

so how about i tell you guys, that eckford defends the use of "bitching" and
"tits and ass" and "asshole" and "shitty" in class and told the lawyer calling
on my behalf to "jump in a pool" and that he would "hang up on your dumb
ass."

i think the suspension threat might be an idle one.

eckford said if it were he profiled in my blog, he would sue me for
professional damage to his career incurred. even though the words did occur
in class.

when the dumb ass mis-statement occurred

i think fink got what i was saying, that there is a serious lack of
professionalism at LACC.

gloria allred's office told me to call the ACLU.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gloria_Allred

i got wind of that teacher was consulting attorneys and he said he would sue
me and that my blog was "illegal."

once again, i'd like to offer the apology, sorry about the internet.

so if you see 1984, 1984=censored to protect the identity of the professor and
department, and *=censored & so trashy that even if they said it it looks more
aesthetically appealing as an asterix.

i really want women to be respected in the future. fink was so cool to me

today. i got a one-on-one tutorial with an amazing sexual harassment
educator. he's not easy either. he sees grey zones, and free speech issues at
play.

so this blog is more like a bizarre art project. for equality.

i think i want to write lawrence lessig and jonathan zittrain and cool internet
lawyers who get what's up here on the blogosphere: POWER.

and plus they are super-smart and articulate and lawyers and techies.

and as for the accusation of a good old "cyberstalk" concept, i'd like to remind
the teachers and administration that the emotional distress experienced in
result of the epithets and classes could just might cause me to off myself.

so in that case, like the UCLA suicide case wayback, would the administrators
be liable for missing the warning signs? protecting a hostile atmosphere? just
wondering.

so: unequal treatment of women causes stress, anxiety, depression,

depression, drop-outs, and class absence, if not directly, then indirectly
coping mechanisms like chemical substance abuse, anorexia, bulimia and the
like.

so yeah.
eckford said if we took away bitch and tits and ass and asshole there would be
only three words left with which to teach . . . dig it?

~if "bitching" and "asshole" and "tits and ass" were forbidden, that there would only be three
words left, (in the english language, i wonder?????) so that brings their vocab options up to at
least 10 words plus or minus some conjunctions.~

and so fink totally is not into holocaust denial. he sees the hate speech
significance and so do i boy let me tell you! i'm obsessed.

but so why is the denial of the holocaust of domestic violence, rape, pay
inequity, war rape, work harassment, school harassment, church-supported
discrimination okay?

i mean when you say "bitch" is it really divorced from the legacy of cruelty to
women?

i told eckford i saw a direct linguistic lineage linking this to the civic denials
of suffrage and education and property rights to women.

so . . . more later sorry for the typos,

i heart
ORWELLIAN BLACK HOLES FOREVER
lol
[1984] forever

maybe i will recensor this and censor it better later

xoxoxo

plus oh yeah what about the indexability of the people who plagarized my
blog in indonesia and sent it through online translators and added internet
adverts.

i can't delete their plagiarism. so if it gets indexed, that's just the nature of
the internet.
that's why my marketing advice is to flood the internet with good press, or
the bad press will be the only press to float to the top.

spamdex yourself!!!!! dah!

and what i still don't get is that, if the facts of what have happened in the
class are so perfectly legal and okay, why am i being asked to participate in
the cover-up?

what's there to hide if everything was a-okay?

if it is that embarrassing, why say it to begin with? its the internet age. if the
1984 department is such a crusader for free speech rights and academic
freedom why do they want to censor my factual anecdotes about the words
used in the class.
boring.

plus: fink scoped me out for being a james joyce reader. isn't that nice. some
of us love chaos. i told him i try not to read james joyce anymore. law and
wikipedia are just so entertaining.

next step: start blogging in other languages.

maybe swedish???? oh that would be sooo hard . . .
theater of cruelty

as i walked from [1984], i talked to some girls. one said another teacher was
making her cry. and that he tells her he is "too sensitive."
i mentioned this to the counselor at holmes hall, a woman of the older
generation. i just stormed in and began sobbing and asked if there is
counseling available. the counselor said "too sensitive" is code for a feminine
perspective. and that as more women get more advanced degrees, hostility
for them takes these subtle or not so subtle forms.
i told the girls that the free tuition will not be such a savings when i add up all
the grief it has caused me.
i told them that i have never been pushed this far.
i marched up to [1984]'s office to let him know [1984] thinks "*ing" is okay
for the classroom.
[1984] said put it in an email.
[1984] was very sympathetic when i described how awkward it is to be
around an agressive male who shouts and gives into his anger and base
instincts.
it is bringing out the worst in me.
[1984] told me of the way his friend is harassed for being a woman in a high
position in her job and that people say its because she has "* and *," a phrase
which resonates with hostility and a phrase which [1984] used when i asked
him if he could be more respectful.
ask him about his "*hole hypothesis."
[1984] loves to take up 20 minutes explaining how there are two kinds of
people in the world, *holes, and non-*holes.
contextually, [1984] was illustrating how mad he is for people thinking he's
french, not german. hence, "*ing." european cultural pride can be so
irrational, anyway. like what? is there something so wrong with being *? why
get so angry?
and then he was saying he would be "*ing" at us if we skipped class or were
late or something like that. hasn't he heard of the blogosphere? why not try
to make a reputation for diplomacy, kindness, helpfulness,
gentleness. i wouldn't let my children around people so foul mouthed.
when i told the ASO that their cruelty to sheila, and their protection of the
harassment and intoxication of a minor was so offensive, compounded with
the verbal abuse and salacious language of lanzer, lewis, and [1984]---would
lead me to tell my sister
DO NOT GO TO A SCHOOL LIKE THIS.
and indeed, i told my sister.
my sister is brilliant, gentle, and elegant. i want so much more for her!!!!!!!!
i wrote bartelt a hand written note about how hard it is to come to school as i
struggle with rape trauma, depression, and agraphobic-like symptoms.
why does he have to be so aggressive? "i have no sympathy for anorexia and
bulimia" he said tuesday.
hearing all this agressive speech just makes me feel bad. it makes a lot of us
feel . . .
the girls told me to take back the word * and even the word *. i don't use
these words.
that if the teachers are going to be so disrespectful, it's okay to take those
words back.
at vanderbilt, i studied simone de beauvoir, luce irigaray whose language
theory bears similarity to anthropology's sapir whorf hypothesis, that
language shapes the way you see the world.
i read virginia wolf, naomi klein, erica jong, all the old feminist philosophers
till i was blue in the face.
i had teachers like william franke, who speaks latin, greek, italian, french,
german. he studied at oxford.
his presence was like that of an angel. every word from his mouth was like
poetry.
he taught augustine and dante.
david wood taught nietzsche and heidegger. he advocated ethical
vegetarianism. he brought in a piano recording of nietzsche's little heard
compostion, which sounded much like schubert.
dr john carpenter was expert at japanese art history, and dealt delicately with
issues of gender, belief, nature, commerce in the floating world, ukiyo-e.
i am so thrilled he has a great job now at the university of london. he
deserves it!
http://www.soas.ac.uk/staff/staff30727.php
he told me not to drop out of school. tat it was students like me that make
teaching worthwhile.
he didn't understand the financial strain i was under. or maybe, he could
imagine.
sara beardsworth taught the graduate level kristeva seminar, and allowed me
to come to her classes.
she was patient and gentle and deliberate in her manner.
this was my philosophy teacher!!!!! she was so graceful and kind and
respectful!!!!! i remember it.

Sara Beardsworth
Associate Professor
Ph.D., University of Warwick

Nineteenth and twentieth century European philosophy, Hegel, critical theory, feminist philosophy,
psychoanalysis. Author ofJulia Kristeva: Psychoanalysis and Modernity. Editor of Julia Kristeva’s
Ethical and Political Thought: Spindel Conference Proceedings. Articles on Kristeva, Freud,
Irigaray, Adorno, and Benjamin"

and then idit dobbs-weinstein bears no words. she had to sue vanderbilt to
keep her job. she introduced me to blanchot, to shoah, to prospero's books,
to dead sea soap, to fava beans. she walked with the grace of a ballet dancer.
she told me something about being young, and coming into focus. she
wanted us to learn as many languages as possible. she had greek and latin
and hebrew and french and german.
our classes were actually like cutting deep inside etymology and text.
"festine lente," she would say: make haste slowly.
she hinted at how poorly she was treated by her colleagues, whether because
of anti-semitism or sexism or . . . don't you wonder?
one of the LACC women told me how hard it is to raise a child and go to
school, and she feels faculty are insensitive to her needs.
amazingly by the time i got to the health service, i was in tears.
i found jerome hard at work on a legal defense at holmes hall.
he has such a great legal mind. i told him i was so proud of him, and that my
mood shot from zero to 100.
he asked me what happened in my life to make me so sensitive to
discrimination and justice issues.
i told him racist police brutality, and the racist lynching of a boy when i was a
child in my neighborhood in nashville tennessee. and the racist families who
whose kids wouldn't play with my brother and i because we played with
danielle and and danjele.
and then i told jerome, almost getting killed a few times.
getting my skull stomped on by a deranged psychotic man. getting
stranggled by another deranged one. hit over the head by a carjacker. life is
fragile. i should be dead. everything that happens is extra!!!
after you have almost been killed, after you have fought for your life, after
you have been abused, everything is different.
there is a different kind of courage, after atrocity.
after torture.

in a sad haze after visiting [1984] and passman and jerome robinson who is
working on sheila dharod's appeal and the holmes hall student health,
i sat outside theater class on the second floor of administration. it was
wonderful. the teacher is great. i have stopped before to listen outside. he
talked about shaw, gorky, ibsen, checkov. lighting and color and set design.
magically i was transported to a more innocent time. my brain felt so happy
to be around literature again, and creatives, and a genuinely enthusiastic
non-hostile manner. next week they move on to theater of the absurd, my
favorite, although i am fascinated by the theater of cruelty of antonin artaud.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatre_of_Cruelty

[1984] kindly asked me to write it up (the use of the word "*ing" in class).
but really this is just too much work.
too bad my friend g. is so condescending about community college. he is
pretty classist and negative like that. he doesn't know what its like to be poor
and want an education so desperately, you'd put up with unimaginative
professors with anger issues.
cristy passman, ombudsman, said well the guys are "getting off on" the foul
language, as if that alone justified it. "getting off" is a vulgar expression. i
wonder where she learned it. cristy is normally defensive of the abuse, but in
a polite way. but yesterday she calmly explained that if the guys are "getting
off" it's okay. harassment. and she doesn't consider it harassment. and it
was so much worse in the sixties, blahblahblah.

i met today the gracious jane baxter spilios of the LACC speech department.
she has a gracious way, uncommon to our modern era. i told her i heard
she's great teacher. it was so comforting to speak to her about language. she
spent a long time with me. she is so eloquent, and is appalled at the language
i have heard in the paralegal and [1984] departments.
she is from a different time.

Ms. Spilios was shocked to hear a run-down of the assorted tawdry language
young LACC women encounter from their young male professors.
she recommended i cantact passman, but i explained that she is no help. she
is cover-up oriented.
she collects a check for nothing, and is rude to me, in a very subtle way.
i like it that she is subtle, whereas, the teachers are more overt, out of control.
i had to explain the crude significance of "getting off" to Ms. Spilios who is
not familiar with the connotation of this slang. i think she is almost
eighty . . .
in her speech classes she has a specific day when they discuss language No-
no's. words that will hurt the effect of your speech, impugn your character,
perhaps get you fired, or damage your career. I asked her what it was like to
be a writer. i told her how much i admired emily dickinson and virginia
woolf. she wrote a book Improve Your Spoken English, a book written for
the exchange students at LACC in the fifties. She told me about the vietnam
era on campus. and fearing for her safety, when hooligan students were
stealing and damaging property, prior to the campus security protection.
they had a system, where they would bang on the walls, to mobilize students
for defense, in case of riot or attack!
the classrooms promised to protect each other.
when i felt such kindness and graciousness from the counselor at the health
department and from Professor Spilios, i realized that LACC has a hidden
resource for me. As the tears burn my eyes, i realize, i will return to these
kind gracious women, who have incredible strength of character, and
wisdom.
they are not like the young women, who are so blind to the internalized
misogyny and so brainwashed by TV that they think IDIOCRACY at LACC is
okay.

these gracious elder women come from a time when politeness and kindness
were valuable traits. they obviously value education immensely. they
understood. they didn't try to blame me for feeling bad, the way cristy
passman does, blaming it on my past, or my sensitivity, and complaining that
i am causing too much paperwork.
i think cristy knows that her job could be in question.
she claimed yesterday, "i am just too low on the totem pole" to implement
policy change.
she appreciated my offer to help distribute the harassment policy to the
classroom bulletin boards.
i could be her free intern, to help stand up for students who are treated
poorly.
i told her about my disability access entusiasm.
she gave me a speech about, we do so much. wonderful.
great.
but i don't think she understood my proposal: guerilla videoblogging of class
and archiving for edu resource material databases. blah.
i think the internet copyriot open data revolution isn't hitting my campus.
we're in a digital divide. arguing for high-tech strategies for disability rights i
think is so important.
i told her about my friend with dyslexia. then she tried to blame my friend
for being held back academically. i told her it was complicated. she wasn't
being sensitive.
susan matranga (OSS director) was excited at first about my ides, but then
was kind of rude to me, because she didn't understand my emails.
it was discouraging.
today, the counselor completely understood how demoralizing this classroom
arrogance is. she let me sob. she gave me a hug. she comes from a different
generation, closer to that of my grandparents, who were extremely gracious.
she said i do not have to listen to the teacher's attempts to smother my voice
"you have no case."
i spoke later with a friend of how it might be to be civilized and kind.
i think constantly of the film IDIOCRACY, set in a time in the future
dystopia.
when i told my teacher, "the moral of the story is not to listen to women" i
was making fun of how he gives preference to the boys in answering
questions.
and he looked at me like "what?" i said,
"because i am a *."

i have never said this in my life. i think the bad vibes are rubbing off on me. i
think i was making parody of his vulgarity, to show him how absurd he
sounds. to show him that if he continually disparages women, christians,
bulimics, whoever---so far as he's concerned, i am a * and i am *ing.
but i don't think of it that way at all.
i think of it like this: i care a lot about justice and fairness. my mom said my
dad cared about fairness more than anyone she had ever met.
sorry about the typos and the bad language.
sorry about LACC.

on my note, i wrote "LOST CAUSE DEPARTMENT"

remembering beck: totally confused . . . he's only a person, who doesn't know

The one thing that you should watch out though is that he is
rather rude and offensive. He seems to has this notion that
because he's white saying stuff like "no more white people" is
okay

He tells students never to put down others culture or religions

but he always talks smack about Christians. Although I'm an
agnostic its really not cool when he talks smack about others.

Yes, he does come off negative and treat students like they
have learning disabilities...

With that said, he can be condescending and rude like

someone mentioned, so it's hard for me (personally) to
approach him and ask questions. Caution!

First I thought he was a normal person but Please no matter

who you are Do Not take this guy

Very sarcastic and rude.

letter to [1984] about babysitting his department

no pressure, but i hope you agree that "*" has a specific connotation that
can be extremely offensive from many angles.
i wrote [1984](1984) a note explaining why it causes me such grief
and reignites the rape (and near murder) trauma i fight daily.

he should be more considerate and respectful.

i find this word as offensive as the n-word.

it is the female equivalent.

it hurts so much.

the fact that pop culture LA uses it every other word now in every
context is no excuse.

my friend * does not like his close minded style and signed her
name to the complaint and has expressed her dissatisfaction.

* thinks he is unfair to her and i wrote him to tell him not to put
her down when she talks.

* says his style should be more socratic, and less authoritarian.

* says that he sees the women cast their eyes down, when [1984] says
negative things about women.

i am not a christian, but i think he should be careful about

slurring against christians as well, as they have some big pockets
for lawsuits.

after he was totally rude and unfair to * and had said "*ing" twice
at the beginning of class, i could not focus on the review because
i felt shaky around this crass hostile atmosphere.

i did not answer any questions.

he prefers to get his answers from men.
* said: "but that's so unfair"

harassment impairs the learning atmosphere.

two women i spoke to after class encouraged me to take back the

word *, a concept i thought i had transcended years ago.

but since the atmosphere is so retrogressive, i guess we have to

work our way up the * ladder.

i want you to know that the only reason i kept this class was so my
financial aid was not revoked.

i avoid trash-mouthed people, whether in a bar or any walk of life.

it is against my spirituality to expose myself to violent words and
insensitive people.

i filed a complaint with cristy do-nothing passman, as well.

i was so dismayed once again.

i spoke to a counselor in health department. she said that his

email to me telling me "you have no case" was unfair.

the cumulative stress of all the horrible teachers at LACC may

cause me to drop out completely.

check the collegian for the ASO scandal and the harassment of
sheila dharod.
i think another lawsuit is brewing.

you would do well to keep your department on high ground.

i am afraid all the violent speech is rubbing off on me.

when i had the correct answer and my team wouldn't listen, i
called it out in the end bc no one knew.
he asked why no one listened.
i rudely or sarcastically said 'the moral of the story is never
listen to a woman' i was kind of joking, but in the context of his
archaic chauvinism it computes

but after his rude email about "*" telling me i have

"no case" and

"am out of line" to question his shouting of the words "* and *"

and skewing the context in which he said "* and *" to be some
barnyard utopia in a loud hostile tone when i asked for more
respect---

i then really surprised myself by saying

"because i am a *"
which made no sense at all and was so out of character, he looked
truly shocked.
i think it shines light on why he has to bully us around.

and if you know me, you will know that i hate this word so
much!!!! it hurts me so much!!!
i was shaking through class. i have severe trauma.

i have been beaten multiple times and called this very word by the
aggressor.
why can't he be sensitive.

what does this mean?

read up on his ratemyprofessors.com

one of them says he treats us like we have learning

disabilities. which hopefully he would have compassion for
that, you'd think too.

he tells us we don't read, we don't care. he projects

negativity on us, which is hurtful to the learning
atmosphere.

he said he has no sympathy for bulimia and anorexia and

other diseases of affluence last tuesday.
those were his words.

i have lost my appetite and am dropping weight bc of the

cruelty and trauma.
i don't appreciate this.

since my first complaint, i could tell he was trying to

pull himself together, but i think he needs to take his
anger somewhere else.

therapists are paid well for a reason.

we as students shouldn't have to be abused.
we want to learn.

won't you be glad to be rid of me,

mary eng

do you think he is [1984]ing on the job??? i can't imagine why

someone would be so loose-lipped in a professional setting

and antibiotic residue that got into the animals system through the water
food and drugs they consumed. even human breast milk has so much dioxin
(and other junk) it toxifies babies. go vegan if you can!)

tell the internet you are sorry

tell the internet you are sorry, if you have harassed or verbally abused
students at LACC.

the internet is sorry about the blogosphere and wishes people would stop
doing stupid stuff.
but warning:::::if you continue to harass women and minorities on campus I
WILL BLOG ABOUT IT, so your kids can know how creepy you were back in
2010.

and if you are thinking about coming to the school, you will need so much
therapy, the cheap tuition isn't so big a discount.

the way i handle stress is writing and art. sometimes spending sprees. it
used to be overeating. now its undereating. i think the bad vibes at LACC are
actually making me lose weight.

but i know my brain needs food. but ASO harassment, and the paralegal
department harassment, and cristy passman's protection of the abuse, make
me want to throw up.

kudos to the collegian!!!!!!!!! thanks for quoting me!!!!!!!!! thanks for

exposing the ASO alcohol seduction of a minor scandal!!! thanks for writing
about the personal attacks against sheila dharod.

unbelievable. ASO president james butler-zetino said by email (may 12 2010)

he refused to read a letter in sheila's defense, and that they had her removed:
"she was extracted like the cancer she is." i wish his future friends and
spouse and employers a word of caution.
regarding the exculpatory letter exonerating sheila he said
"i did get the letter you wrote regarding sheila. lol . . . . "
when the author wrote back asking if it was fair,
james butler-zetino wrote:

"fair? no worries. we did not even read it. she was extracted like the cancer
she is"
i want to get my hands on the email exchange.
i can't believe he would right
the collegian debuted their articles regarding the underage student who
claims zetino bought her alcohol with school money and verbally harassed
her in a sexual way. the student has dropped out of school.

jerome robinison is such a powerful presence and speaker.

his speech gave me the courage to give mine.
i left after that, because i wanted to get it on youtube and get some stuff done,
and student government seems like a major time waste, in a addition to being
a place to pick up bad manners and a hateful attitude about life. the birds
outside my window are far more poetic.

i wonder what other emails would shed light on all these LACC scandals.
youtube annotation:

jerome robinson reads cruel "extracted like the cancer she is" email penned
by LACC ASO president james butler-zetino.
the collegian today published an expose of zetino's alleged harassment of a
minor and attempt to get her drunk on school money.
unbelievably, the ASO president, in addition to supporting the defamation
campaign of sheila dharod (who exposed the corruption), has no clue about
email as e-evidence. do not say anything in an email you don't want to see in
court, or that conveys corruption and such animosity and cruelty. amazing
that this comes to light.
LACC feels like a greek tragedy.
with so much hatefulness, i feel fear.
thank you jerome for shining a light on this cruelty!

youtube annotation:

"if sheila were my own sister or my own daughter i would tell her please don't
go to a school like this. it's just, it's just, really, really a shame. i hope you all
wish better for your children."

that's me talking, mary eng. don't you like my flowing black clothes? it
makes it more dramatic. but it is really sad.

i felt like a babysitter giving the motivational speech about world peace and
the future.
i think ASO needs the two hour seminar version.
i bet they have been reading "winning through intimidation" instead of "how
to win friends and influence people."

i apologize to the victims of their aggression.

but i appreciate everything i have learned from ASO june-may 2010:

1. attack colleagues
2. publicly humiliate yourself to such an excessive degree that people want to
film it and put it on youtube in case there is a lawsuit, or someone needs to
establish a record of lack of HR skills
3. pettiness
4. aggressiveness
5. mendacity
6. meanness
7. the LACC administration is lazy and unimaginative and will protect you if
you harass others because they are cowardly and self-serving
8. cruelty
9. how to turn a small scandal into a big scandal through short-sightedness
and amplifying the effect
(getting it all over the blogosphere and school newspaper)
10. harassing and inebriating minors is okay if you gag the witness and
impeach her from your government
11. emails are forever
12. youtube is forever!!!
13. harass a woman, blame it on a woman
14. try to harass the press and intimidate them from documenting abuse

at least LACC doesn't taser us!
duffy is amazing!!!!!

i cherish these classes!!!!

learning all about the civil rts act!!!

[1984] is amazing too---when it comes to the economy and globalization. too

bad he shut down broadcasts and doesn't like the blogosphere.

watching a few classes would change the way you shop, vote, bank, eat. now
all the highlighting of those egregious moments, have prompted a change. it
is a perceptible change. and i bet he will be an even more amazing teacher in
30 years. and that learning to respect women in the classroom could happen
at any age, and the sooner the better. it is because he is a great teacher that
he is worth the time to fine-tune the kinks. thats what yelp and ratemyprof
etc are all about. youtube.

too bad he doesn't like the internet.

i thought with him being young he would be hip to the web. well i sort of
hoped.

check this footage: UCLA security tasering a handcuffed student in 2006

(send sargeant Pfeiffer a thank you note for not tasering you [if you are from
the middle east] on campus!!!!! now you love LACC!!!! can you believe
this????? tasering at UCLA!!!!)

Steven was a wonderful guy who I met when I took my public

speaking class at Los Angeles City College. I remember the
first day of class how surprised I was that despite what some
may see as a disability, he had the courage to stand up and
introduce himself and tell his story. During his cultural
narrative speech he talked inspiringly about not making
excuses and finding away to to accomplish your goals. It was
more than moving and I'm glad he was a part of the class.
I don't know what happen during this incident and I won't
pretend to. i just know he was the most gentle and friendly
guy. With communication being what he was supposed to be
the worst at, he fought hard to be an excellent speaker.
Thanks for those memories, Steven!

murder on a campus back east.

all the anger and hate i saw at ASO actually really scares me.

i don't think we here at city college are going to taser and murder each other.
cross your fingers.

but this stuff is worth being careful.

when passions run high, it is better not to insult each other. all the slurs and
back biting, i think come from personal issues, or economic woes, or deep-
seated trauma.

i don't think anyone on campus really hates women, or sheila dharod. i think
they are just projecting their negative feelings about their self-esteem or their
past bad relationship, onto particular victims, women in general, minorities,
or whoever else is the recipient of hate.

i don't think a confident happy person would attack someone so viciously. or

go along with it like jay cortez and gene fernandez did at the ASO.

so 1984.

verbal abuse lasts a lifetime.

i for one have a great memory. if you are going to insult me or talk down to
me, i will remember it forever.

that's why we should be nice and peaceful to each other. every time i see the
ASO people i say "stop the hate" and "peace and kindness" and such things.

i don't feel like i can have a conversation with the people who i witnessed
engage in a vicious mob attack against sheila.

i feel a bad energy cloud. a little shaky just thinking about it. it impairs my
feeling of safety. mad dogs with blood on their fangs.
i am soooooooooo glad its on youtube.
true they didn't taser sheila and put her in handcuffs. but they staged a mob
attack. gosh it hurts me that they would do this to anyone, woman or man,
from any background.

i am soooooooo sensitive about racism. i saw police beating a man in

tennessee when i was seven. racial profiling and public beatings.

why can't we just love one another?

the days are too long for hatred.

the office of civil rights federal division is about to start their investigation
when i get my release back to them.

i wonder if anyone at the American Bar Association cares that all the
professors of the paralegal department rolled over and played dead while a
paralegal student in our program was harassed, defamed, and humiliated in
violation of fed and state law and ASO process.

duffy witnessed it.

he knows the rules that were broken by the ASO.

i wish he could come forward.

i bet he can't jeopardize his salary.

vargas acts like he doesn't know what's going on.

that's smart.

so i sent my letter to the american bar association because i think a paralegal

program should have an outstanding level of ethicality when it comes to
ensure that all students regardless of gender or background.

and professor harassment doesn't help. nor do professors who role over and
play dead when a woman is burned at the stake for exposing administration
and student corruption.

viva the internet!!!!!!

mob cruelty at ASO LACC
civil rights at ASO in question. can a woman be ejected from the student
government for exposing school corruption?

jerome robinson!!! he was the first to use the word "lynching."

sadly, scott clapson threatened me with a cease and desist letter from LACCD
counsel if i used the word lynching, which was used in the first week's
proceedings.

hate-free zone
the signal is quite weak today. hope this publishes.

LACC needs better internet. talked with the moore and peters about IT block
of videostream for bambusering classes for disability access. we need online
curricula. archived lectures. for the dyslexic, the blind, and for all of us. for
the people who can't afford the time spent going to free school at LACC. even
if we are poor as dirt, we are rich to afford the luxury of the time it takes to
study at free community college.

Vargas is such a great teacher. i am listening to his family law class right now.

had a great time yesterday talking to dr. jamillah moore, president of the
university, and to earic peters.

they were supportive of the idea for an Equality Coalition. Earic peters had a
lot of good ideas for the social equity club idea. Jamillah encouraged me to
finish my paralegal degree and not get too caught up in club ideas. I actually
am thinking along the lines of a civil rights study group, looking at the ADA
and civil rights acts in terms of how they affect students.

the most telling part was in which i explained that students do not
understand the procedure, and that is where the club might serve as an
interface, to make the procedure and the law comprehensible and universally
understood for all students.
ala
these are your rights
this is what to do if they are infringed upon
do not take it lying down.
blahblahblah.

jamillah said that is what perhaps she and earic as administrators take for
granted, that we know what to do, that the process is in the handbook.

i told them how the first time i heard offensive things in class, i stumbled
around from room to room, looking for the administrative process, in
disbelief.
i told the department chair, but he was unbelievably protective of the abuse.

i felt anxiety, like i had no where to go.

and now, that i am both more knowledgable, and more violated by LACC, i
feel that my initial gut instinct, that the offenses were unacceptable in a
professional atmosphere---now has given way to the understanding that
LACC considers the abuse protectable "free speech" or "academic freedom"
even if it is racist and sexist.

i wonder.

i mentioned that a club could be an interface between the policy and the
students, who often feel uncomfortable, or submerge their critique with
ignorance or distrust of the grievance procedure. while i understand the
grievance procedure, i distrust it.
someone from LACCD left an unidentified message on my voicemail
explaining that they refer me to christie passman. i duplicated my
complaints, so they could be "in the loop."

the sort of pass the buck poker game is a bit entertaining. that they couldn't
identify themselves on the message was quite funny. it was like, "hi. not our
problem. bye."

i realize there was a procedural error with my 2009 complaint. i found a rules
and grievance procedure redux, to which i am entitled copies, which
describes my right to make an oral statement to the college president or to
the deputy chancellor.
i never was given the opportunity.
jamillah in 2009 referred me back down to CO cristy passman (compliance
officer) and now she tells me we cannot talk about my discrimination claim
pending the investigation.

quoting from the leaflet outside cristy passman's door

"the college president or deputy chancellor shall independently
assess whether the 'preponderance of the evidence' establishes
a violation and shall determine what action is taken, if any.
Prior to making the decision, the alleged offender and alleged
victim shall have the opportunity to make an oral statement,
within 15 days from the receipt of the CO report."

i am going to send this to cristy and ask how she interprets this. i think i have
a chance to explain to the decision making bodies, and that this right has
been blurred over in the interpretation of the policy.

that is a little bit funny.

interesting class at PSU "emotional abuse in the workplace." My mother tells

me the anti-hate speech standards are very strict in the Oregon hospitals
where she works, and absolutely no harassment on gender lines, racist, or
homophobic is permitted in a professional context.

i like the concept hate free zone.

i wish we could make LACC a hate free zone.

when i see ASO flyers, i tag them with a sharpie, "STOP THE HATE."

deep in the heart of campassion, there is a beautiful future for the students of
LACC, and anywhere.

MLK died at 37.

civil rights are not something you can procrastinate.
if your professor disrespects you, or harasses you, do not submerge yourself
in shyness, and self-hatred, and submissiveness.
tell the teacher they are making you uncomfortable.
tell them they are violating equality in education statutes.
tell your administrators.
blog it.
and likewise, if you are screamed at by students, or savaged by their cruelty
and accusations, speak up.
the ASO for all i can see is a HATE club which cruelly defamed a very
wonderful person who i admire. they need a lot more love and cooperation.

i am sorry i ever witnessed what i did.

discrimination in all aspects of education
EDUCATION
* A child has difficulty speaking English, but her school does not provide her
with the necessary assistance to help her learn English and other subjects.

* A majority Haitian school does not offer honors classes. Other schools in
the district that do not have many Haitian students offer both honors and
advanced placement courses.

These examples may be violations of federal law, which prohibits

discrimination in education because of a person's national origin. The
Division's Educational Opportunities Section enforces these laws in
elementary and secondary schools as well as public colleges and universities.
The Education Section's work addresses discrimination in all aspects of
education, including assignment of students to schools and classes,
transportation of students, hiring and placement of faculty and
administrators, distribution of school resources, and provision of educational
programs that assist limited English speaking students in learning English.

STOP THE HATE, speak no violence
hey!
i saw jamillah moore today and she said that our meeting on friday will only
be about the future of my "Equality Coalition " club. she is not at liberty to
discuss the complaints regarding student, professor or ASO harassment
which are undergoing investigation.
i want to apologize to anyone who has looked at this blog.

as i walked across campus today i got tears in my eyes thinking about how
much LACC means to me.
i have seen both sides of the academic spectrum in america.

as a poor scholarship kid at a really expensive school, i saw the excesses of

the rich kid-frat lifestyle.

it really hurt to have no money for food or clothes and to be surrounded with
insanely rich kids with big egos.

going to LACC is so drastically different.

i love the diversity in age groups.
i love the feeling that people who are here really want to be here.

we are making huge sacrifices to go to school.

i love to hear so many languages on campus.

i want to learn armenian, russian, hebrew, Filipino, korean. i want more

spanish.
i want arabic too!

i want it all!

i want to embrace the many cultures of LACC and make it a better safer place
for all of us.

in a way, my own prejudices run high.

i really don't like a lot of things about american politics and culture.
i don't like the way women are shut out of the political process.
in norway the ministry of equality repaired the system with near 50-50
women and men in balance in government.
i think we could do this too, and i am excited that another woman may sit on
the US Supreme court.

as i looked at the collegian today, i realized what a good job they are doing.
i loved the article about the polisci teacher who took inspiration from both
malcolm x and MLK.
i felt so sad about the armenian genocide, and the murder of the autistic
student by the LAPD in koreatown.

i completely love the fact that they are writing about the lack of healthy food
on campus.
the styrofoam really bothers me.
we have to lose the styrofoam!!!
it's illegal in portland oregon!
it leaches into food and is really bad for the human health!

oh my gosh i am so excited about this company they profiled for healthy

nutrition vending
http://www.healthyvending.com/
as a vegan on campus, the options are pretty non-existent.
potato chips and french fries from pure luck are well . . . pretty much fried
potatoes.
and those have acrylamide, a carcinogen.
raw fruit or veggies would be so much nicer!!
thanks collegian for asking for organic food on campus.

i hope the collegian liked my "press kit" for all the materials i prepared in the
last week regarding various acts of hate and intolerance on campus. sexism
is alive and well in some communities. we can accept diversity without
accepting an abridgment of our rights or dignity.

just because some of our professors come from a male-dominated culture

which continually objectifies, ridicules, underpays, and ostracizes women,
doesn't mean we should "accept" their attempts to inflict their cultural values
on us.

in fact, the powerful will win!

and if we, as students take back our power to resist oppression, resist
indoctrination, and resist a blind sheep-like attitude which some of our
teachers try to cultivate---we might actually change the classroom dynamic to
reflect a more modern viewpoint.

we are more collaborative, more consensus based.

i think young people are very fair.
we are very skeptical!
we don't accept authoritarianism well!
we want to participate and be heard and we don't want to disrespect each
other, the earth . . .
human dignity should come first.
at the administration building today, i saw a great quote from mother
theresa.
it said, "peace begins with a smile."

i want to offer this challenge to the ASO: stop the hate!

can we have peace on campus, knowing the ASO is using its power to
victimize and humiliate fellow students!!!!??????????
my conscience will not allow me to witness this much brutality!!!!
that is why my letters and documents are going out to
the federal office of civil rights, sacramento community college association,
the american bar association, the LA county bar association, the student
press law center, the GLBT center's legal office, gene little diversity
coordinator for LACCD, bet tzedek's holocaust survivor group, and then on
campus: cristy passman, lawrence bradford, jamillah moore, joyce moore,
and the collegian.

please do not use the word "NAZI" in ASO documents!!! i cannot believe that
ASO is so callous!!!!

my roommate just moved out after saying something anti-semitic.

he said, i'm sorry i didn't know you were jewish.
i lost a best friend over that.
i told her she could not say anti-semitic things around me.
another friend and i never saw each other again after a day in which he tried
to explain to me his stereotype of "african'american english."

i told him he seemed to be making such a crass generalization, and that after
growing up in the south, i could attest to the fact of so many educated
eloquent persons of color in many fields.
i spent a semester at the historically black Tennessee State University. it was
amazing. that the schools were historically segregated!!! and that the
residual racism in the south is high!!! and going to TSU was so
empowering!!!! there were so many incredibly focussed academically
motivated people going to school there!

i am really sorry too that the learning resource center has been robbed.
i am really sorry that the ASO has been circulating sheila dharod's personal
address and telephone number as a part of their defamation campaign.
they didn't even have the insight to black it out!

sheila dharod actually helped me for my anthropology project one day as we

discussed the many religions of india. one of our classmates came from an
islamic family. sheila explained that in india the many religions can co-exist.
she said she had family members that came from the jain tradition.

i really like jainism. gandhi's mother was jain. jains beieve in non-violence
(ahimsa) as their highest principle.

the typical hierarchy of violence

1. physical--the obvious---punch, kill, maim, etc

2. verbal--speaking violent words
3. thought---imagining violence, or wishing harm upon someone
is actually a FALSE HIERARCHY!!!
in jain thought--to think violence is as powerful as to physically hurt
someone, to verbally attack their character is also the same as to think of
hurting someone.

i found this little bit of wisdom in 2003 in a yoga magazine. it really helped
me a lot.
so ahimsa--or nonviolence---must be integrated into the speech and the
mind.

when the ASO launches a personal attack and says a lot of mean
unsubstantiated things about sheila, they are really unleashing a tyrrany of
violence, which is impacting all of us.

my compassion has allowed me to feel this in my heart!!

i realized one day, what is going on?

am i trying to turn LACC into some spiritual utopia, where no one says
anything rude or unkind?
am i trying to turn it into a mystical vaguely buddhist monastery or
something?
as in, am i trying to enforce my cultural ideals on the community???

is there some truth though to the concept of charity, kindness?

my father said, "never say an unkind word."
if you know me or hang out with me, you know that i do not like backbiting,
cursing, sexist words, racism.

i wish people would have a more jainistic understanding of language. that

the language they use can do real physical harm to the people they inflict it
upon.

so all the hatefulness i witnessed at ASO and recorded for youtube just eats
my soul.

my teacher brian bartelt, the day of his outburst, was discussing something
from his brilliant thesis paper. he references the crystalline structure of water
as it can be altered by sound, an idea popular in many meditational practices.
http://spiritofmaat.com/archive/aug1/consciouswater.html
and with that as premise, if our bodies are water, and sound and thought can
change the structure of water, isn't that all the more reason not to abuse each
other with words of hate and disrespect.
that my class could vear from so much brilliance to so much banality in a
matter of minutes astounded me.
i have really held bartelt to task for some fine-tuning.
he has a clean web trail. i resisted looking him up for weeks, because i resent
the invasions of the facebook culture. all i found was this.
http://digitallibrary.usc.edu/search/controller/view/usctheses-m220.html
i read it twice and a half.
i would set my text to speech to read it to me so i could really learn it. it's
brilliant. in a way, i still have hope. i tend to avoid truly hopeless causes.
that i ask bartelt to be more respectful, is because i have faith that it is in the
range of possibility. i hope he is smart enough to see now, why it is
important. i am sorry his verbal excesses have made it into this blog.
there is a sad weird thing about internet speech.
i have been reading about it here http://www.splc.org/
as a purveyor of the open data ethos and un-intellectual property spirit, i am
all for sharing, republication, no rights reserved, replication, copy, alter,
remix, distort.
share freely and realize property is an illusion!!!!!!
maybe i should make an LACC rap?
i feel like some of ye olde professors don't know much about the internet.
i think some great entrepreneurs will come up with a YELP for schools, which
is better than ratemyprofessors.com, and more comprehensive.
wouldn't that be great???

so when teachers try to get away with crazy stuff in class they really should be
prepared to see it go up on to the blogosphere immediately!!!!

and same for fellow students who can't keep there hatefulness to the privacy
of their minds, but for some reason, want to spew it all over us like vomit.
ASO, stop the hate!!!

hmmm.
and what is the fine line between peacefulness in speech and satygraha, truth
action?
i can't stand by and see so much violence at LACC. it is liek a microcosm of
all the worst in humankind, being enacted upon us.
how can i demand justice and peacefulness and move into the future?
how can i forget what i have seen???

if teachers and students continue to be so abusive to each other, i think we

will need a better counseling department.

it seems strange to me that people can be so cruel to each other on campus

especially in light of alll the columbines and the recent yale murder.

schools can be dangerous places!

please don't contribute to violence.
realize your harassment can induce depression, appetite loss, addictions,
even suicide, murder.
don't hurt us with your words.

do not contribute to the suffering which might induce catastrophe!

and if anybody on the campus has violent tendencies, do not push them over
the edge with racism, sexism, and other intolerances!
this is dangerous!
teachers!!!!
students!!!!

please!!!!!
STOP THE HATE

LACC stay positive.

the crushed budget has been really hard on us this year.
i am so sorry the summer session is canceled too!

noted connoisseur of graffiti chimes in regarding the beauties of razorblade
art on the toiletseats at LACC.
regarding the huge display in holmes hall, i am now really honored now that
it dawns on me who he is.

he is a sociologist of bathroom graffiti and has published books about it!!

he was recommended to me by dan diamond, art expert, educator, and
academic advisor.
so maybe LACC graffiti can make it into his books or websites. keep your
fingers crossed.

he liked the stmt :"i demand better graffiti"

he writes

"as for better graffiti does the razor blade on the toilet seat sound better or worse???",
it cuts both ways...this aired sat. should be available online or podcast soon...

RE: Los Angeles City College Harassment

Thank you for looking over my reports. I am dismayed that the incidents of
harassment and hostile atmosphere towards women and minorities are so
severe at LACC that i feel that i must complain to all of you.
I believe paralegal student Sheila Dharod's privacy has been breached in the
circulation of ASO files to the public if they attended the LACC ASO meetings
5-4-10.

Her number and address are on the circulating "evidence" that was offerred
to the public.

The word "Nazi" is used on the SCCC memo. The ASO reproduction of this
memo and recirculation of this memo (as evidence against Sheila), i consider
embarrassing and offensive to holocaust survivors.

Many students spoke out against the defamation campaign waged to

eliminate Sheila Dharod from student government after she exposed ASO
members drinking, for calling out President James Butler-Zetino's attempt to
seduce a an underage woman who he fed drinks at the SCCC affair, and for
calling out ASO on numerous procedural errors.

The underage woman is filing criminal charges against the current ASO
president.

I was screamed at by ASO VP for finance Joseph Tolle under the election tent
wed 4-28-10 at 6:30 pm, when i told him not to touch my shoulder. He
immediately lied to cover for himself, as he then did the next day to Earic
Peters, saying that i screamed and touched him first, both untrue.

I made an incident report with the sheriff on campus.

Professor Bartelt of LACC anthropology repeated the phrase "show your tits"
twice 4-16-10, in class. i politely asked him to speak more respectfully of
breasts. He said, "what? I don't know what you are talking about?" and i
said "well when you use the word tits . . ." he then shouted "what? tits and
ass?"
A few weeks before he made jokes about Margaret Thatcher being a man. He
also proclaimed a theory about transvestites showing women how to be real
women, a comment which i find offensive both to transvestites, and to
women.

He wrote me a very disgusting email defining the word "tit" 4-17-10 which i
found to be both insulting to my intelligence, and harassing.
Richard Lewis in the paralegal department spoke profusely of hookers and
prostitution repeatedly all semester spring 2009. He also publicly harassed a
woman of color, Talissa Love, humiliated her, and graded her poorly. She
missed class to avoid the harassment. She told me she was also harassed by
her gym teacher.

Veteran Stephen Stapleton told me that Paralegal instructor Richard Lewis

screamed at him in the courtyard. Andrea Bari witnessed this. Bari dropped
his class with Richard Lewis because it is intolerably inane and offensive.
Andrea Bari started an Intellectual Property student club to make up for the
huge deficit in the department offerings. While Richard Lewis purportedly
teaches "media law" he mainly talks about TV shows and makes sexual jokes.

My friend Eric Hamilton said his english teacher was sexist so he dropped
the class.

ACLU campus club founder Lawrence Vasquez told me his teacher was
saying negative things about "Mexicans."

Spring 2009, Kenneth Lanzer in the paralegal department spoke of "dumb

woman," "horrible woman." He said "if i told a sstudent she would make
more money as a slut walking the streets at hollywood and vine, than as a
paralegal, would that be an example of defamatory speech?" He often
bitterly references his divorce.
Two women students have been asked out by Lanzer, and one has dropped
his class because of it.
I dropped my legal writing class with him because he makes me
uncomfortable.
One of my classmates in 2009 told me there is a sociology professor who
talks about male masturbation repeatedly, when i asked if they had similar
experiences in class.
Professor Vargas in the paralegal program brought in a film to criminal law
class with the words "whore" and "chink" and "spik" and "nigger." I found
this bizarre, as he is a very good teacher otherwise. I complained, and he has
had no following lapse of judgement. He thanked me for my complaint.

Professor Duffy in the law department makes jokes about women being
"cheesecakes" and about the wife who eats bon-bons all day and gains 100
pounds and tries to take her husband's fortune. he also could not answer the
legal question of property division in same sex marriages in the state of
California during the brief window that these occurred, repeating the
definition that "marriage is between a man and a woman." His tone was
perceptibly stern with the gay male who helped follow up on my initial
question, which followed the bon-bon comment in property law. He also
joked that stdents could sit in eachother's laps if they were attractive enough.

Professor Cabellero, in Administration of Justice, makes repeatedly sexist

statements. I never reported this until this letter. He also seemed to unfairly
target very young latina girls, and make them the subject of his internalized
racism.
The large male anatomical graffiti in the women's room in Holmes Hall
where most of the law classes occur, which reads "suck it bitch" and has been
in the bathroom for over a year.

My reports:

1. the harassment and defamation of Sheila Dharod by the ASO as protected

by Dean Peters, who told me the ASO does not assist discrimination
complaints. Invasion of privacy, use of the word "Nazi" in a joking manner.

2. the physical harassment and verbal harassment of ASO VP for finance

Joseph Tolle, who lied to Peters. Peters tried to tell me the physical
component was not the important part of the incident report. Tolle
repeatedly touched me, as i pulled away he said "I'm sorry." Then when he
touched me again, and i told him not to, he screamed at me with many
witnesses present. I am scared to be around people like this with obvious
anger issues. I do not think he should be allowed to be near the ASO
building, because i do not feel safe there and he may have another outburst.
I saw him putting his hands on another ASO member/female student, whose
character was being attacked for the excessive alcohol consumption which
occurred on the ASO SCCC trip.

3. Cristy Passman's failure to take my claims seriously and attempts to

prevent me access to the forms to make formal complaints, and her
discouraging me from my right to send reports to Sacramento

4. Bathroom graffiti which is both sexist and pornographic

5. sexist and homophobic comments by law professor Tom Duffy

6. sexist epithets and shouting by Anthropology Professor Brian Bartelt

7. 2009 complaint regarding law professors Lewis, and Lanzer, the Vargas
screening of an extremely violent and verbally epithetical film in criminal
law, and Department Chair Tim Sweetman's protection of the abuse.

I am looking forward to meeting with President Jamillah Moore on May !4th

at one p.m. She seemed truly horrified when i told her about the anxiety and
grief i have experienced as a result of the poor academic quality at LACC and
ubiquitous harassment.
She seemed dismayed that i have missed classes, tests, and dropped classes
as a result of the abuse. I told her the anxiety caused me appetite loss as well
as depression.

i fear that immediate action from a high level and a lawsuit are the only
things that will help out the carnival know as LACC.
I am dismayed that department chair Tim Sweetman and Ombudsman for
Discrimination and harassment Cristy Passman are so protective of abuse.

My educator friends at other schools have told me this kind of activity would
lead to immediate suspensions.

I have spent hours of grief documenting this abuse, discussing it with other
students, and blogging it. I feel the adverse effect to my educational
experience to be an extreme violation of my guarantee of equality in
education.

Eric Kim, LCC district counsel asked me to take down my blog, supposedly
for intellectual property reasons.

i wish you all would do more to prevent future abuses and punish those who
have abused the students of LACC.

Please feel free to call me.

I would like to spur the initiation of an Equality Coalition to address sexist,

racist, and homophobic speech in the classroom and on campus.

Please protect future students and consider LACC worthy of your

investigation.

Proactive measures are needed.

ABA bar certification should not proceed until quality control standards are
met.
Initially, I was shocked that my teachers seemed so ignorant of modern day
sexual harassment standards. I felt that they were actively trying to get fired
and retired. Now that i see that this kind of abuse is widespread and
protected on LACC campus, i feel very sorry that i have wasted so much of
my energy at a paralegal program with so little self-respect and at a school
that protects and in fact encourages verbal abuse.

Honorably,

Mary Eng

re: "i demand better graffiti"

mark ferem writes. actually should i publish the razor blade tagging-on-the-
toilet-seat graffiti? is it better or worse?
i mean literacy is great, but really, toilet seat literacy . . . is so . . .

Hi Mary...
Mark here...thanks for the insight...is the shot in the women's restroom, by a women?

socialists who support slaughterhouse labor exploitation
and yet fight Arizona immigration reign of terror
questions for the socialism conference at LACC:
what is the perspective of the party for socialism and liberation
on factory farming in america, especially in light of the meat
luncheon at the conference?
you seem to care about the crisis in Arizona regarding
immigration.
aren't slaughterhouses a huge locus of labor exploitation of
immigrant workers?
why not boycott meat?
are there any similarities to scientology and or other religious
groups, in terms of your educational programs?
what are the requirements for the six month training
candidacy program, and is it paid?
do you follow labor law?
what percentage of the work done for your group is done by
volunteers?
when you reference che guevara, are you endorsing violence?
i heard he was a murderer. is it is true?

read more about the people who hosted the conference here:
http://www.pslweb.org/site/PageServer

i really appreciate the fact that women and men are involved in their
leadership, and that they are anti-racist, and on some levels fight racist
immigration policy.

but i am concerned about the support of slaughterhouses which rely on

deportable "illegal" laborers who have a high injury rate.

in light of the scientology labor law

scandal, http://www.scribd.com/doc/13912796/Complaint-Laura-A, or the
nonprfit labor law violations that occur at mainsteam left fundraisers like
telefund http://www.futuremajority.com/node/534 and the FUND and the
PIRGS, it concerns me when ideological groups heavily staff their
organization with unpaid peons so a few top togs can make off with bank.
just curious.

(Conservative, female, opinionated, intelligent . . .)
Student Is Not Welcomed In LACC’s ASO
so i am really interested in a fellow blogger, dena leichnitz.
as a warning to readers i do not endorse the viewpoints expressed in her blog,
but nevertheless defend her right to access to student resources, free from
discrimination based on her political views.
i like dialogue, and i see her point. that her views make her unwelcome at the
ASO, too.

she has been coming to the thursday 4pm intellectual property law club at
Holmes Hall.
thursday she said she would go blog up her story, and possibly make reports.
she came to the top of a bing search of "ASO LACC." go bing!
she has an amazingly smart young tech genius son.
lucky him to have a techy mom!

she is a far more dedicated and prolific blogger than i.

and for that matter, she can also write in coherent sentences, a grammatical
talent which i find creatively frustrating. she can even punctuate and
capitalize.
while we have some drastic differences of opinion politically, one thing for
sure is that she is confident and articulate and a voice of power for whatever
cause she espouses.
if there is something we need more of, we need more strong female voices in
politics and theory.
she has created a "silence no more" awareness campaign to talk about the
special discrimination she received at ASO and more generally as an
opinionated woman of color of a conservative political perspective.
i think it is really interesting that she would also be shut out of the ASO.
i think it is worthwhile to take a look at her site (which could be published as
several books, there is just so much there!!!!!)
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/silent-no-more-awareness-campaign/

welcomed-in-laccs-aso/
her blog is Dena Leichnitz’s world in Black and Right
Conservative Student Is Not Welcomed In LACC’s ASO
Ah the beauty of blogging! If I can’t get anyone else to tell
my story then I can always do it myself. So here it goes:

I recently applied for a Senate position with my school’s

Associated Student Organization (ASO). I was called back
to interview and I got the run around. The person who would be
conducting the interview was James Butler Zatino. He is the current
president of ASO and does wield considerable influence in the
process. After playing phone tag, after trying to track him down I
finally get an interview. The interview goes pretty well, with my
nervousness I do fumble a little but I recover overall. He asks me if the
position I wanted was not open would I be willing to accept another
one. I tell him yes. So I hear back from him and he says, these are the
positions available and for me to pick one. He tells me to come back
later that day at about 1 to let him know what position I picked. I get
there and he is not there. So I leave a message telling him what
position I picked. I run into him later and let him know I want the
Senator at large position and that is when it all falls apart.

I am asked straight out, what is my political position? I tell him that I

amconservative and he winces as if I actually stabbed him or
committed some other violent act against him.
He asks me how to conservative, so I jokingly tell
him “I make Rush Limbaugh look like a flaming
liberal.” He then tells me, “Well you are going to
have to represent all the students.” I tell him, “I
don’t have a problem with that but though I will
represent the liberal students I will not tell the
conservative students who come to me that I am not going to listen to
them or that their voice can’t be heard as well.” Well that doesn’t fly
with him.
I was supposed to be appointed the following
week. He doesn’t show up and no one can find
my paper work so it is going to have to wait until
the following week. Then yesterday right before I was to get appointed
I get two calls. One tells me appointments are being postponed and
then the other telling me they have gone with someone else.

It was then that I went to the Dean of Student Life at Los Angeles City
College and filed a complaint. I am also in the process of talking
to http://www.campusreform.org about the situation. I will also be
heading to my school paper to let them know what is going on. This
should not be tolerated.
The thing is I don’t have embrace liberal ideology to be able to
represent the students as a whole in the Senate. Just like they don’t
have to embrace my conservative ideology. The thing is that they
want a yes man, someone will just go along for the ride and not make
any waves. Well they are not going to get that in me. I can represent
all students because I will listen to all students and take the best
ideas from them and run with them. But they just want a liberal
parrot. I wasn’t going to lie or downplay my conservatism. I feel they
should know exactly who they are they getting and if this was a club
on campus like the Liberal Lions or some other club that pretty much
catered to only liberal minded students then that is one thing. But you
can’t say you represent the student population when you clearly do
not!

This is not also the first time something like this has happened to me.
I was up for an internship during August. It was a paid internship. I
would be helping to recruit students and organizing events. To show
my experience in organizing political events-though truth be told they
were small-I told them about my work with Silent No More Awareness
Campaign and the male professor on the committee who is a political
science professor-laid into me. “Well we are pretty far left do you think
you could promote our agenda?” He went from “pretty far left” to
“extremely left” to trying to bait me about my abortion views. He was
antagonistic and all in pretty obnoxious and I was glad I wouldn’t have
to be working with this man. With his hostile attitude I thought they
might be staging a coup d’etat or something. The fellow student I
would’ve been working with was nice, friendly and even if he was
“extremely left” he had the common decency not to display any such
obnoxious and unprofessional behavior! He was definitely a class act
which is more than I can say for that professor! I don’t remember his
last name but his first name was Zack and I am sorry I didn’t have a
chance to work with him, I think we could’ve learned a lot from each
other.

Things need to change at LACC and while I don’t think I am entitled to

any position, I do think it is unfair to be offered the position and then
have it withdrawn, for no other reason then they don’t like my
politics. Well you know what ASO and Professor Hateful, I don’t like
yours either! And if you think you are going to get away with treating
students so abominably-you got another think coming!

LA Indy media outreach

i am so happy that LACC students read LA indy media!!!!

it is/was listed as a terrorist group by the FBI.

as the internet is so scary to authority . . . well . . . things are changing really
fast.

i can't wait to personally write my fellow student thanks! for his comment re:

I have had a number of classes with you, the author of this

opinion, and, have had a number of the professors that you
make referance to as I am in the paralegal program at LACC.
Mary, I respect your passion, dedication and commitment to
justice but this article not only crosses the line it pretty much
goes so far past the line that it comes full cirlce again. I
believe that in your quest to see justice done the mere
utterance of certain words inflame your self-rightous
indignation. I mean, really? Under "Vargas" you put that he "
brings in film with every other word whore or the n-word.
not kidding". I have had three semesters with Vargas and
never once have we seen a movie in any of his classes, let
alone a movie such as you describe. While i believe the club he
moderates may have had a movie screening or two, this is a
far cry from the picture that you paint. And even if you were
alluding to these film screenings, are you condeming him for
allowing a movie to be viewed with these terms in them and
making assesments on his personal views and character? I
think you'd be hard pressed to find any movie now-a-days
without something of this nature in them. Does that make it
right? No, it does not. But it also does not give you license to
make wild, out of context and just plain wrong assesments
about a professor or their personal views (by the way, I very
highly doubt that Prof. Vargas, or any of the other professors
from the Law department that you have mentioned, acts or
carrys themselves anywhere close to the totally off base
pictures you paint).
As for Lanzer, Duffy and Lewis, do i deny that these quotes
you have put up here have been uttered by them? I can't, for
the simple reason that I was not there when any of these
alleged statements were made. it could very well be that some
of these things were said but as i asked previously, does that
mean that these statements are reflection of these individual's
views? Perhaps these phrases were said in the context of a
story, giving an example, like the Duffy's example you give,
"speaks of women as "cheesecake" and of wives who gain 100
lbs. eating bon-bons while trying to take advantage of men
financially" These two i have heard in Duffy's classes but you
know what? They were in the context of giving examples of
legal principals where he was elaborating some of the details
of the stories. So in your view, the mere utterance of these
phrases makes them, sexist, racist, insensitive and
"hell-bent on being offensive as often as possible"? Sorry,
Mary you are wrong, way wrong.
Do I think LACC is perfect? No, of course improvements could
be made. However, the direction that you are casting your
flashlight on is way off base, inaccurate and boarding on
libel. You can help by being part of a workable solution to
real problems at LACC. Don't highlight personal issues or
problems that really are not there and really help no one.

hear is my response as of today!

the future

oh i really appreciate the dialogue.

thanks for dedicating so much time to your very kind response.

i really sit on both sides of the debate.

i really like the idea of free speech, but don't understand why it becomes an
excuse for sexism.

if you get a chance, check out the latest banality at LACC regarding the
defamation campaign against sheila dharod for exposing the student
government's drinking with an underage minor on teh school trip.
she has been verbally castigated and humiliated by a a very cruel student
government.

thanks so much for sticking up for your school.

i really like vargas too.
when he brought in the film i wrote him a pretty cogent note.
i don't think he will do that again.
the film was full of lots of racism remarks in a historical context, but i found
it very unpleasant.
the rampant sexism was ludicrous as well.
i am sorry for asking for so much respect.
i would also like equal pay for women, and equal representation in
government, an end to rape, an end to the marital rape immunity, an end to
all domestic violence, honor killings, an end to male-dominated religious
structures, and many other wonderful idealistic things pertaining to the
environment and human and animal rights.
so feel free to send me ideas about how to get rolling on utopia.

in the meantime, i don't want to be harassed at school.

joseph tolle screamed at me in the courtyard.
this should not be tolerated.

if you are not a victim of the abuse, it is totally easy to minimize the
suffering.
it takes a lot of imagination to have compassion.

(more later).

amazingly the socialist conference at LACC costs 7$/10$.

listening through the back door where some officious guy told me i had to go
to the front to be counted and charged.

father's rules:
never say an unkind word.
no contention.
no bickering.
never raise your voice.
verbal abuse is worse than physical violence.

if only we could teach this to the ASO and our harassy profs and students.

i'm thinking that if i do come back to LACC, i will take lots of science and
computer and business.

really impressed with vargas's 100% glowing reviews on

ratemyprofessors.com.
we do have a lot to be proud of.
i really love the diversity here.
i love it.

i want to take arabic, wills and trusts, and a lot of computer classes.

just saw eckford leave through the back door.

he's a wikipedia celebrity for his african-american studies.
i want to take that class and chicano studies too, especially.
wating for fate to tell me what's next.
oh yeah my test.
back to the books.
eckford totally got why i don't dig gendered harassment.
i really appreciate that.

cristy passman passes the buck

dan diamond provided the obvious: think about her job: cristy passman is
there to collect paperwork and protect the professors.
of course.
her job is to protect the school, as a lawyer, as former DOJ.
she does nothing, because that is what she is supposed to do.
that is why LACC harasses frequently, flagrantly, and with impunity.
what was i thinking? oh optimism!

impunity |imˈpyoōnitē|
noun
exemption from punishment or freedom from the injurious consequences of
an action : the impunity enjoyed by military officers implicated in civilian
killings | protesters burned flags on the streets with impunity.
ORIGIN mid 16th cent.: from Latin impunitas, from impunis ‘unpunished,’
from in- ‘not’ + poena ‘penalty’ or punire ‘punish.’

thanks LACC!

FRIDAY, 7 MAY 2010
i wrote this letter two months ago in a fit of optimism about technology and
LACC and disabled student outreach and accessibility activism.
the idea was to record and broadcast classes for alternative learning
strategies.
i refer to the american foundation for the blind endorsement of the google
books project for text to speech and braille reader access.

i wrote the founders of bambuser to thank them for their hard work and to let
them know that our economically challenged school really appreciates the
free technology!

susan matranga was initially supportive, but then backed off and told me not
to write her.
eckford also told me he had no time.
kendell told me he had no time.
somebody should care about tech. its 2010, right?
hello? LACC?
my 2-18-10 letter:
thank you for all your hard work and for inspiring your
students---i don't know if you understand the magnitude of
our thankfulness--

please only read this if you are not tired overwhelmed

i meant to write you b4 about it---
but now i can---

now if or if not it transpires

nonetheless i think it would be a great idea

to at least audio document lecture and load onto a free mp3 sharing portal
(with yr participation, and not covertly)

the trend with all the best schools is this digitization---and democratization of what
would be a very pricey experience--
so i can hear anthropology from oxford, or listen to stanford law, yale law, science
everything, climate change, even conservative think tanks, on Itunes U.

whatever you may think of Apples hegemonic dominance strategies---it holds

amazing potential cognitive wealth for educationally disenfranchised persons.

http://www.apple.com/support/itunes_u/

also--and sublimely attractive is live streaming tech---which if the wifi is strong

enough, an excellent easy stream can go thru a laptop with cam----

i have watched tech lectures in swedish from this amazing swedish start-up
bambuser
the idea being free info to anyone internationally---

super easy to start a channel and the embed code could go in the anthro club blog.
or we could do the same with club---
even if no one caught on initially---the connectivity---or utilization as a study tool
could really help people with bad eyes, attention issues etc

it would help to bring LACC up to date tech wise and reach into the ether realm---
pertaining to eco crises, literacy--

http://bambuser.com/

now if all this remains conceptual as far as your personal involvement---i

completely respect this, and perhaps share your concerns regarding image, ubiquity,
and even the legal or professional implications.

one need not necessarily participate in an OPEN DATA movement to become aware
of its potential---and web traces can be annoying to erase . . .
the audio file format may be an amazing compromise especially given the fact of
some kinds of learning "disabilities" which preference audio versus literary
communique.
for instance, my best friend with dyslexia would love your lecture if it were as easy
as sending a link.

or my mother in oregon would love it too.

i am extremely inspired by a lecture on itunes U from new york law discussing

implications for the google books settlement in terms of using text to speech
recognitions and braille reader accessibility for the blind---in the sense that the
google books settlement--- which is an overt disruption of copyright norms---or
intellectual property interests---
defeats academic elitism---
as a former victim of overpriced edu---this i think, is such a wonderful trend---

and most importantly, the dearth of quality intellectual experience is such that i feel
that we---your students---are absolutely starving for this information----

and to share it one day, or maybe now---might be a profound gift, or sacrifice---with

humanitarian aim---not to be overly utopic---
and as the preference is yours
i just thought it might be at least flattering to run it by you
and it would be as easy as a laptop running a silent audio recorder---or all the latest
ipods have this feature now too---

but then again a unique experience might be better with less tech---

well thanks again, and syllabus please?

thanks for letting me in the class
mary eng

this is my letter to bartelt, attempting to enlist his support on 2-25-10:

http://bambuser.com/channel/anthropologylacc/broadcast/5

don't bother reading unless you want to---merely more

polemic!

if it helps too, i might take a minute in class to elaborate on a

legal basis for it, the benefits of the experiment, the company
and alternatives, and inform students:there must be consent in
a sense.also re: not cutting it for the film, its rather unlikely
the MPAA will come after me or LACC re:copyright----but this
law is being rewritten and unwritten as we speak and digital
anarchists have the social good of literacy and communication
at heart.

another student and i were talking about a proposal for a real

IP law class or series for all the creatives---the deficiency of
modernity is glaring . . .

prof at google books hearings said smthg quite poignant re:

copyright in EU being natural rts theory, and in US actually
being social good theory based---and so here it will evolve

actually the director of OSS (for:blind, dyslex etc) is quite

interested---and i spoke to eckford and guerrero who were
warm and want to stay informed of our progress, perhaps
meet. they enjoy itunes U and tried to start something similar
a while back.

the new tech just makes it way too easy!

i wish i had the same for some of my old profs----! i am
literally begging old friends to utilize the tech to provide
readings or discussion groups---challenging content and
information---i would love to hear them read their papers or
speak outside of the predictable.

edu a right not a privelege in sweden---and the copyriot

movement in force

susan b. matranga at office of special services (re:disabilities)

is happy about the idea for it
and possible expansions
they used to have a budget for student notetakers for the blind
etc but now nothing----
the digital options now are beautiful in terms of audio archive
etc mp3s
and the cloud

i was thinking of a site eventually that could link to future

multimedia
or the blog embed
and make a new interp of ADA
a more radical equality

bambuser is a pretty cool company

with wifi expansion this could be in many classes theoretically

i ran around sniffing info on who would be interested in

helping
one fellow ESL's evan kendall said "i don't know why you care,
usually only people care if they have smthng at stake."
i replied---cognition communication technology learning. by
something i think he meant money, not cognitive wealth or
communication.

its very international---and really quite normal all of the

sudden.

bambuser was utilized during the pirate bay trial for

commentary for the IFPI's prosecution last feb.

itunes university has a lot of functionality but would require

more IT plus i like free open style better.

plus funny also USC film school fighting copyright for film
editing classes---where what is possible now in a classroom
has not relevance to the old laws

Finally, however, it is the fact that

many governmental and even scholarly institutions have been
slow to recognize the digital divide as a problem of copyright
social utility that brings us to where we are today. Now that
the meaningful mechanism for bridging this divide has been

Now we recognize that the proposed settlement will not

ratemyprofessors censors the word "sexist" so writing these little haikus is an
artform.
my most recent review is under review.

nevertheless, it is pretty entertaining, especially if you know who is getting

the review.

i realize that the negativity towards christians might be contagious.

when you hang out with negative people it rubs off.
i don't want to absorb the bad language and hatefulness . . .
so here is the best of ratemyprofessors, based on teachers i find noteworthy . .
.
re:lanzer
In his interpersonal interactions with students he is on the
bias(in detriment to our grades?),despondent,
disparaging&contemptuous among other prejudices.On the
bright side he may . . . in time, if he choses to-benefit from his
subordinate's superior quality skills in human relations. With
hope and prayers.Do you have time?

Very nice man although a bit bitter over his divorce and
women altogether. Also very funny and extremely helpful. He
is also not hard on the eyes. I would suggest his class to
anyone, not too demanding, just get your reading done.

re: bartelt:
Knows the subject but can be biased. He tells students never to
put down others culture or religions but he always talks smack
about Christians. Although I'm an agnostic its really not cool
when he talks smack about others. Other than that he moves
through the material fast but his test are straight forward and
he prepares you for the tests.

I did not like Anthro before taking his class. Yes, he does come
off negative and treat students like they have learning
disabilities... But he has found a way to completely intrigue
students, very passionate about subject. Just don't miss class a
lot on tests is from class notes. Not so difficult once you get
into it. I completely recommend him.

First day of class I really thought I was going to like this guy;
he's hip and out there etc., whatever, and has lived an
interesting life. I loved and still love listening to his personal
anecdotes. With that said, he can be condescending and rude
like someone mentioned, so it's hard for me (personally) to
approach him and ask questions. Caution!
great teacher. you cat argue against that point logically. if you
dont like him then you got offended by something he said
about religion or something similar. he breaks everything
down perfectly, but you need to take great notes and give 100%
effort. great teacher if you want to learn and open minded bad
if your super religious aka close minded.

re:duffy:

(sorry about duffy hitting on a student, but if its true it may support my
theory that his 1950's style sexist humor is out-of -touch and not to mention
his homophobic feelings about gay marriage as it relates to property law)
I'm taking his class currently and his *** was hitting on me.
Also his class is really . . .

re:richard lewis (who amazingly has some raving fans):

Lazy, lazy, lazy... but an easy A

This professor truly shows how unprepared an instructor can

be. I had a great expectation prior to the class and he totally
turned my interest down. He rarely uses the textbook, missed
3 classes so far, and gives idiotic, horrible lecture which many
times its not even related to the topic.

This class was a VERY easy A, but a complete waste of time.

re: cabellero:

(i took him last summer and while he knows criminal law well, he often
made sexist jokes, or picked on individuals)
He is very strict and tough but is ok pokes fun at people

I dropped my major because of him. He was the only teacher

that taught all the admin. classes. He thinks he is a comedian
and a stud. He is a total moron. He is also a chauvinistic pig
which, I called him on, in class.
Well he has finally lost all control. now he not only talks about
the raiders but his **** drinking problem. He gets more pitiful
every semester

He likes to intimidate students, threaten them and put them

down.

Caballero just came across as a very difficult person and it

seemed like he was trying to intimidate everyone into
dropping the class. I wasn't initimidated, but have better
things to do with my time. I dropped the class immediately.

eric kim passes the buck
hey guys.
having a great time studying my constitutional law book about protected
speech.
i had an awesome 27 minute conversation with district counsel eric kim
today about future litigation he may confront.
he isn't prevention oriented.
it is really up to the student/victim to enforce the educational code against
harassment.

i love talking to lawyers. they are so abstract and so money-motivated, so

intelligent, and so lazy.
this is why i think i might make a good lawyer.
they usually have no morals either, which as a future lawyer, i don't think is
so cruel to say.
they aren't allowed to have morals.
their only responsibility is honoring their client's interest.
in this case, eric kim represents LACC district.

i was trying to get through to him about preventing lawsuits, by ensuring that
the professors and students don't harass other students or violate the CA
educational code.

its not his job to enforce these laws.

in fact,
NOBODY CARES.
that is the most horrifying thing!

equality exists on paper, in a law, online, but not at LACC.

cristy passman is supposed to care, but doesn't care.
except about doing enough paperwork to keep getting paid.

kim referred me to gene little, head of diversity programs for the district.
when we talked i felt that gene was very dismissive and old school
complacent.
he said claims were often fabricated.

i will duplicate my records for the office of civil rights federal division.
but as i recall, they were very dismissive in 2009 when i reported the
paralegal department for protecting professor verbal abuse.

i liked how when i told eric kim about the "tits and ass" outburst, he asked
well, in what context?

i can't think of a context, either professionally, or even in my leisure time that

these words would convey anything intelligent.

eric also made comment of the "contours of academic freedom" which i

thought was humorously vague and yet quite obviously pro-harassment . . .
and resonated with bartelt's concern in 5-6-10 lecture and 4-17-10 email for
his "academic freedom."

if "academic freedom" means freedom to hurl epithets at women . . .

i really feel sorry for people who feel "freedom" to mean freedom to abuse.
well . . .
i need a better world, obviously.
eric kim asked if sheila was pursuing administrative complaints for
harassment.
he of course cannot give me counsel.
when scott clapson threatened a cease and desist letter from eric kim and
asserted that eric kim knew about the impeachment/harassment campaign
against sheila, this was untrue.
eric kim at least pretended to not know about the ASO harassment of sheila
dharod in retaliation for her exposing the ASO member who used school
money to get a 19 year old student drunk on ASO money and then harass her.
i think sheila is such a tough fighter.
i am so glad that the underage victim is pursuing criminal charges against
ASO president james butler-zetino, if indeed he did try to inebriate and
harass her.
she stopped going to the ASO after the incident.
that scott clapson admits all of the ASO was drinking at the sacramento
conference to me begs the question, why is the ASO buying drinks for ASO
student government and funding their little vacation?
why won't they do more for the students?
the letter of bradford, dismissing the case against president james is also
telling.
i like it when guys cover up for other guys.
it is so old boys club.
it creeps me out majorly to know that ASO is so corrupt.
they have exceeded my expectations of banality and i wish i never met the
harassers or their defenders.
bad vibes.
back to the books.

heavens bless dr. luther guynes, an incredibly honorable person. thank him
so much for his support!!!!

i am so sorry this blog deals with such powerful stuff.
just so you know, i am filing harassment papers and mailing duplicates to the
legal affairs department in sacramento.

i know cristy passmanwill push these under the rug, just as earic peters has
done with my joseph tolle incident report.

she specifically told me not to send report duplicates to sacramento because

then they get on to her about investigating the charges.
it is my right to file with the state chancellor. i do not appreciate her
attempts to restrict my access to administrative remedy.

reports going in the mail today

for:

1. porn graffiti in holmes hall

2. joseph tolle repeatedly grabbing my shoulder and lying when i reported his
unwanted touching and screaming at me when i told him not to touch me

3. the ASO harassment of sheila dharod

4. ombudsman for discrimination and harassment cristy passman's attempts

to silence me, obstruct justice, and prevent me access to her forms and
grievance procedure, verbal disparagement of my case "generally people take
these things in stride." (this bears similarity to teacher brian bartelt's email
to me in which he said "you have no case")
stephen stapleton, a veteran, was harassed by students and professor lewis,
who has heretofore been protected by cristy passman.
his studies have suffered due to the time pursuing justice and legal
assistance.

as for videos, i really want to make a lot!!!!!

so if you want to talk to me about any issue of harassment on LACC, please

email me!!!!

youtube is the future of citizen journalism.

we can make LACC a better place, by exposing the violations.

i want to hear your story!!!!

please email me and we can get going right away.

there is nothing hateful about a dialogue!!!

i really welcome comments, emails, youtube comments, etc.

but please do not curse at me or tell me to "suck it" as one youtube creep did
last night.
don't harass me because i want to make my school a better place!!!!
plus i am meeting with school president jamillah moore on may 14 1pm, a
friday.
earic peters is invited.

if anyone would like to attend as a part of the equality coalition please email
me!!!
i want this to be a team effort and team dialogue!!!!

jamillah was very concerned that the repeated harassment by professors and
students is causing a slip in academic performance and anxiety and
absenteeism.

she was very concerned and looked quite shocked to find out that we hear the
words
"tits and ass" and "slut" and "whore" etc in the classroom.

i believe she did her masters work in equality related issues, so i hope she
really cares and that we can motivate her to enact a new level of leadership
on campus.

evidently my complaints to Passman never made it to jamillah.

i think that is unfortunate.
as it now stands, i would be embarrassed to be on the payroll of LACC, and
hope that our professors can rise to the occasion and activate against the
complacency on campus which protects the ongoing abuses.
business professor DR. luther guynes writes:

DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

yes,
but where do we draw the line???
can't we fight for civil rights here?
why should we take this lying down?

in pursuing justice might we find happiness?

ethics and imagination: equality in the future
cristy passman was very reluctant to give me a discrim form for the graffiti.
when i returned for two more forms, one for the tolle screaming, and one for
the ASO harassment of sheila dharod, she almost tried to talk me out of it,
but then realized i wasn't so easily deterred.

a more mild mannered student could totally get walked on here.

i will lodge a complaint about her trying to suppress my reports.
that will make the fourth report this week.

i may scan them and put them on my scribd.com acct for a how-to demo for
the equality coalition.

about the porn graffiti, she told me she has contacted facilities and that i
could do so online.
i asked where online?

she then said dismissively, "generally people take this in stride."

i don't know if she means giant bathroom porn, epithets, or also being
screamed at by a student officer under the election tent.

i think she could see i was not in the mood for chitchat and platitudes and
wanted to quickly put me in place as i was walking out the door.
as i returned to the holmes hall bathroom to photograph the evidence, i
wondered about taking things in stride.

i think it pertains to the "you are out of line" metaphor bartelt used in his
email to me.
does he mean out of line with the avant guarde, or the normal people? with
america, or with the future?
i think they are out of line with the future of equality.

they should come along for the ride, a beautiful future with no harassment,
and justice for the purpetrators and protectors.
phyllis tried to tell me to let the perpetrators off the hook.
i think she is focused on the future.
she speaks about the armenian genocide on my youtube channel, reading her
comment as was published in the collegian.

and also a source told me the LACC holmes hall women's room was in last
week's collegian!
way to go collegian.
did they show a picture of this?

can we see some solidarity from the faculty here??

does any one have the courage to defy this hate campaign on campus??

why is the faculty so laissez faire and so "good german" about this hate
campaign?

i told adamski cristy passman brushes it under one side of the rug, and dean
peters brushes it under the other.

so, then it shows up on the internet.

hallmark is coming out with a new card.

it says, "i'm sorry about the internet."

and for the record, i really am tired of facebook etc, but have worked hard to
get all that facebookiness out there for those of you who only speak internet if
its translated into facebook.

please follow support tweat replicate.

and hey, i am very open license oriented, so republish, remix, etc.
LACC anti-environment?

so it is 2010.
recycling is in . . . why does LACC act like its the fifties???
is the smog making us stupid?
sheila offers grammar advice to the ASO, clarification of the faulty
"evidence," and points out the cover-up of LACC ASO misconduct.
i think this might be why she was removed . . .
she is the hero of my blog right now!!!!

i don't even think she knows how much i respect her for showing the light on
this creepy scene.

i imagine we disagree on some aspects of the case. nevertheless, i support

her and strongly urge her to seek outside legal counsel.

LACC fights to keep styrofoam legal and widely
available to the student body despite carcinogenic
impact
reminding us that eating healthy should be a part of our academic future.
the fact that LACC sponsors a food truck that uses polystyrene containers is so environmentally
deplorable and bad for human health.
see
http://www.verdant.net/nofoam.htm
A. REASONS WHY POLYSTYRENE FOAM IS BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND HUMAN HEALTH.

1. Toxic chemicals leach out of these products into the food that they contain. These chemicals
threaten human health and reproductive systems.

2. These products are made with petroleum, a non-sustainable, heavily polluting and disappearing
commodity.

3. The product does not biodegrade. It crumbles into fragments that have no expiration date.

3. A certain percentage of product will be dumped in the environment, persisting on land

indefinitely as litter and breaking up into pieces that choke and clog animal digestive systems in
waterways.
4. The product takes up more space in landfills than does paper and eventually will re-enter the
environment when landfills are breached by water or mechanical forces.

5. Foam recycling is a public relations stunt, promoted by the chemical industries that
manufacture it. This is done in highly centralized, distant facilities using complex chemical
processes and expends far more energy than is ever saved by recycling the material.

unbelievably, even the airborne molecules of heterocyclic amines, which are formed when you
cook the creatine in muscle tissue, are carcinogenic when inhaled.
for more on this google heterocyclic amines.
this is so interesting from pubmed:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1749106
The purpose of this report is to summarize data on carcinogenic heterocyclic amines mainly from
the aspect of environmental medicine. Since 1977, a new series of heterocyclic amines has been
isolated as potent mutagens and they have been shown to be carcinogenic to experimental
animals. Among these carcinogens, carcinogenic amino-alpha-carbolines and amino-gamma-
carbolines are widely distributed in such components of the environment as airborne particles,
rain water, cigarette smoke, diesel exhaust particles and cooked foods. Moreover, most
carcinogenic heterocyclic amines are reported to be present in cigarette smoke. These facts
suggest that carcinogenic heterocyclic amines are likely to be ubiquitous environmental
pollutants. These results also support the hypothesis that carcinogenic heterocyclic amines may
be formed through combustion of various materials such as food, grass and petroleum.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8844793?
ordinalpos=1&itool=PPMCLayout.PPMCAppController.PPMCArticlePage.PPMCPubmedRA&linkpos=1

The mutagenic activity and the mass amount of heterocyclic amines responsible for the
mutagenic activity have been measured in some cooked foods. Cooked meats are the
predominant source of mutagenic activity in the diet with values ranging from 0 to 10,000
revertants per gram reported in the Ames/Salmonella test with strain TA98. Several heterocyclic
amines are present and have been quantified using solid-phase extraction followed by HPLC.
Frying at higher temperatures and for longer times produces the greatest mutagenic response,
and concomitantly, the largest amounts of heterocyclic amines. Most of the mutagenic activity in
fried meat samples can be accounted for by MeIQx(2-amino-3,8-dimethylimidazo[4,5-
b]quinoxaline), DiMeIQx (2-amino-3,4,8-dimethylimidazo [4,5-f]quinoxaline) and IQ (2-amino-3-
methylimidazo [4,5-f]quinoline), although other heterocyclic amines are present and PhIP (2-
amino-3-methyl-6-phenylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine) mutagenic activity becomes significant at higher
temperatures. Non-meat products such as baked breads can also form significant mutagenic
activity, particularly when overcooked. Commercially prepared hamburgers made from meat
substitutes such as tofu, wheat gluten or tempeh and fried at 210 degrees C have up to 10% of
the mutagenic activity of a fried beef patty cooked under the same conditions. When detected,
amounts of heterocyclic amines in fried beef patties range from a total of 0.35 ng/g for
commercial beef hamburgers to 142 ng/g for a beef patty cooked over a barbecue. Dietary intake
is expected to have a large range, from less than one microgram per day to over 50 micrograms
per day based on current knowledge of known heterocyclic amine chemicals and heterocyclic
amine-containing foods.

joseph tolle screamed at me when i told him not to touch my shoulder (ultra
condescendingly).
he immediately lied saying i touched him first.
super untrue, but super quick save---fast on his toes, lying!
good job, liar!
quick thinking, harasser!
he screamed at me under the ASO election tent on LACC campus last
wednesday.
i wrote an incident report at the sheriff's.

"the crime or tort of unconsented physical contact with another person, even
where the contact is not violent but merely menacing or offensive. See also
assault and battery."

i hope he gets the consent of the next people he puts his hands on.
i don't think he will win his presidential election.
he also lied the next day to dean peters, saying i screamed at him.
i really admire someone who lies so quickly.

i think he is really smart, for a person of no ethics.

youtube description:

i think he should stop touching the girls.

when they launched another attack on an other female for alcohol consumption, she got upset. he ran
over to put his hands on her.
when i told him not to keep putting his hand on me every time he talked (in a condescending way)---he
screamed at me.
i think he should watch out for his future because this is often undesired, and could lead to future
trouble with whatever company he is working for.
when he touched my arm, we had never met before and he snuck up from behind me.
he startled me.
i said, "who are you? i don't know you."
he then did it again as he talked, touching my arm.
i moved back, while continuing to listen.
then he tried to touch my hand and succeeded. i flinched.
he said, i'm sorry.
then he touched my shoulder out in the courtyard.
i said
"don't touch me. you should be careful about touching strangers."
he then proceeded to have a screaming fit.
the next day he lied at the ASO saying i was screaming at him.
this is untrue.
i never raise my voice.
i don't get liars who scream under the election tent while people are casting their vote.
he was running for prez.
you'd think he'd want to put his political career ahead of a tempertantrum.
but no. this is LACC ASO.
scott clapson thanks us for coming out to the ASO and discusses the copy machine theory.
i just realized i feel sorry that i have all this embarrassing footage that is up on youtube.
maybe he will come to me personally, and we can agree to delete it in exchange for a reinstatement of
our senator, a public apology, and compensation to all witnesses who are surely suffering
psychological trauma after realizing how petty vindictive and unintelligent their student government is
and how weak and cowering the school administration is to allow the bully crowd to conduct this ritual
of hatred on school grounds.

ASO: stop the hate!

allegations of ASO racism and sexism denied by scott clapson.

impeached for purported "vexatious" behavior.

i wonder why some of these people are so easily vexed.

maybe they need anger management.

i think clearly smart women will be punished for it if they show their face at LACC.

so are they expelling sheila from the ASO because she exposed the alcohol
problem at the ASO convention?

why was linda badgering sheila?

ben reagan has asked for the removal from this blog but not from youtube.
he may provide transcript later.
i assure him he is an excellent speaker.
bathroom stall grafitti porn at LACC at holmes hall
(video of LACC bathroom coming soon)

the budget crisis has hit the schools hard. california!

Los Angeles City College is literally falling apart at the seams.
no toilet paper. professors with potty-mouth syndrome.
an ASO run like a jerry springer show.
summer college up in smoke.
no money for anything.
why the LACC has to cut janitorial services and toilet paper is uncertain . . . .
what creep would draw an anatomical cartoon in the bathroom and write
"suck it bitch" on the door inside the stall?
someone cleverly changed it to "sock it, pitcher." someone also carefully
erased someone's editorial comments that this was "misogynist BS."
i think this constitutes harassment.
i will be sending links to cristy passman.
i wonder if she likes to look at cartoon's of huge male anatomy when she goes
to the bathroom.
i wonder if as ombudsman for discrimination and harassment she considers
it harassment.
she would probably say it depends on the context.
i wonder if she likes toilet paper or no toilet paper.
personally, dear Los Angeles City College, i want toilet paper and only clean,
non-insulting graffiti of artistic merit.
i wonder if i should tell ASO about the toilet paper crisis at LACC.
but they already know the school can't afford paper to print a syllabus.

more footage later from my small camera.

apologies for the technical nightmare of a quicktime recording on a laptop.
i have audio minutes as well by mp4 for anyone interested.

youtube caption:
who knew you could get federal and state tax dollars at work to enact your petty power politics at
school?
kicking a competent woman out of student government, and launching a huge hate campaign the
during election week, shows LACC students what losers fill the ASO.
i would never hang out with such creepy people if it were not to publicize their cruelty and
incompetence.
sheila dharod is a very strong and powerful leader and has exposed the pettiness of the ASO. sadly
the internet will now be filled with the bad press of yet more LACC cruelty and tax-waste.
sheila knows more about law and government than anyone in the room. she is extremely articulate and
calls out the ASO for their tax-funded incompetence. so it is only natural they want to remove her from
their club.

sorry the footage is so boring . . .

ASO hate campaign

explanation from youtube comments:

administrators endorsed and support the discriminatory hate campaign against sheila dharod.
the administration of LACC protects harassing professors as well as student government harassment
campaigns and personal character attacks.
i am deeply saddened to have witnessed this monkey court torture us with their lack of reasoning,
insubstantial "evidence," and poor communication skills.
this campaign of hatefulness and negativity directed at sheila dharod will reflect poorly upon on
persons who gathered to support this spectacle of public humiliation.
joseph tolle also took the time to personally scream at me under the election tent. several people
witnessed this. that he vehemently spoke against sheila, while never apologizing to me discourages
my faith in his integrity.
scott clapson went to great lengths to create the bizarre "impeachment" proceedings. gene fernandez
spoke about how sheila is not the "type" of person they want in student government.
let it be known i would never hang out with people so hateful and cruel if it were not so entertaining.
i also find it offensive that they are using tax money, school property, and administrative time to create
their hate mischief.

i question also the integrity of dean earic peters for allowing this to go on.
while future ASO president Lopez is apologetic in public, despite supporting the hate campaign, i
implicitly distrust him due to the violent speech i heard over the walls of the ASO offices.
at least he takes the time to be nice to my face, unlike joseph tolle, who took the time to scream at me
when i told him to stop touching my arm.
the presence of the sheriffs at the meeting added a surreal martial law effect.
i made a report of tolle's screaming and touching of my shoulder. the incident will be passed to
bradford, who will not respond to my emails.
i can also file criminal charges for battery, although the sheriff attempted to tell me that was not
appropriate. i find this pretty funny that he thinks i don't understand the concept of battery.
anyway, who wants their student government in handcuffs?
that would just be too bizarre.
i will think about it.

are you ready for an uplifting story yet?

Dr. Luther Guynes is the most kind graceful and respectful teacher at LACC.
he teaches business.
i found my class notes from last summer's business class with Dr. Luther
Guynes. so much wisdom about human relations . . . . if only he could lead
my "classroom etiquette for teachers and students" class . . .

when everything got extra depressing i wrote him:

"now can you explain why these young teachers are so

disrespectful to women in class?

if only you could teach them how to be graceful elegant and

respectful!!!!"

he wrote back:

MARY SO NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU .YOU ARE A WONDERFUL AND BRIGHT
STUDENT.I AM VERY SORRY TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAD TO DEAL WITH..THANKS FOR
HELPING SOME OF THE STUDENTS IN MY CLASS.CALL ME ANYTIME

sheriff's passing along incident report re: joseph tolle screaming at me under
the ASO election tent when i told him not to touch me.
i can go back and make formal charges for battery and explain situation to
deputy if i want.

they will forward the incident report to bradford.

the student who was hit over the head with the paper in anthro could also
indeed file a report for battery.

the officers seemed alarmed about the verbal aggressiveness of the students
and professors.
they agreed that they would not want their daughters screamed at in such
manner.

i will go back during the week when more staff are present to discuss the
options with the deputy.

FRIDAY, 30 APRIL 2010

letter to lawrence bradford, vice president of student
services at LACC
thank you for your advice about the LSAT and the holistic approach!!!!

it was the best guidance counseling session ever!!!!

I regret to inform you that earic peters will be forwarding two incident
reports to you regarding
ASO VP for finance screaming at me under the ASO election tent when i
asked him not to keep touching my shoulder.
he also lied vigorously in his defense.

i cannot be around such cruel and violent people.

i am also appalled by the proceedings against sheila and fear that any racist
sexist student government action could imperil LACC if administrators to not
halt what appears to me to be a campaign of petty hatred and discrimination
by a predominantly male group against a non-white woman.

i think this would never happen to a man or a white woman and i fear that
LACC risks a PR nightmare for allowing this character defamation to
continue.

witnessing the harassment of sheila is detrimental to my ability to feel safe at

LACC.

i am meeting with jamillah and earic on may 14th at one o'clock to discuss my
ideas for a proactive Equality Coalition united against sexism, racism,
homophobia, disability discrimination, islamophobia, and professor
harassment.

i have heard the most offensive things in class from professors and feel
personally such anxiety and sadness that it affects my grades and ability to
focus on my studies.

i would love to meet with you and explain further.

truly, i am focused on my long term goals.

however, my humanitarian nature revolts at the thought that such flagrant
violation and verbal abuse will continue at LACC.

i do not want any human being to suffer what i have suffered.

if i had known how disrespectful the atmosphere here would be, i would have
never commenced studies here.

the traumatizing effects of verbal abuse can last a lifetime, and are in direct
defiance of the educational code guaranty of equality in education and a
harassment free school place.

thank you for your investigations.

listening to moot court competition of vanderbilt and lewis and clark.

reading animal law review of lewis and clark.

reported joseph tolle's condescending touching of my shoulder and his

screaming outburst under the ASO election tent wednesday night.

he happened to walk in the moment i was handing my report to earic peters.

he quickly lied, "she screamed at me first."

similar to his lie, "you touched me first, why the double standard."

isn't it strange that people lie?

i am not a good liar.
i would be more successful if i were.
it bothers me.
i most surely can't do it quickly without batting an eye.
kudos to joseph tolle, vice president of finance for the LACC ASO, for having
no intuition about when touching is unwanted, and for losing his temper
under the election booth, a true irony, and unprofessional .
and for lying faster than i could think of a lie, a sign of intelligence and a
successful future in business, and for lying in front of earic peters in the
student resource center, yesterday in accusing me of screaming.

i commend someone who is so perfectly willing to lie in public, in front of

many people, shout and raise his voice with no shame in front of other
students, and continually touch a woman's shoulder hand and arm,
uninvited, and with condescension.

i do not feel safe around someone like this.

beware.

this is my recommended reading for him

remembering my first ASO meeting when someone said something harassing
to sheila about five weeks ago.
i immediately spoke up and said "don't sexually harass people from the legal
department. you are barking up the wrong tree. "

i remember that michael laughed.

it was rather funny, wasn't it?
i want to ask them if they remember it.

idea: why going to LACC is similar to time travel.

retrogressive, back in to the fifties, etc. sexist, absurd, anti-technology . . .

edu-tainment: entertaining levels of incompetence in education.

and wondering if the ASO would conduct their little hate campagn against a
white man or a white woman?

would they do to me what they are doing to sheila?

i doubt it.

why is the ASO so hateful and divisive and negative?

major bad vibes.

more students should come and observe.

but like me, they probably implicitly distrust the process.
they might find it edutaining especially if they are into cruelty to women, or
women of color.
so bizarre!!!!

letter to law prof tom duffy
thank you for your concern

part of why i looked so ill last week was also the detrimental effect of more
harassment from a young professor who shouted offensive things at me

i told him he was making me uncomfortable and yet he persisted and sent me
a cruel letter telling me i have no case to ask for women to be treated equally
and fairly in the classroom.

vargas knows about this and refers it to cristy passman.

she pushes everything under the rug when it comes to professors saying
offensive things.

i really think we need professors with more commitment to equality.

i think you are the best teacher the law department has, but nonetheless
could watch out lest your words not jive with the modern era.

for instance "cheesecake" could be interpreted as a sexist way of referring to

women as objects.

i recall hearing this in your class.

don't you think in light of the lopez lawsuit, LACC could be a little more
careful not to tread on this dangerously litigable ground . . .

you should have heard what lanzer has said in class.

that vargas brought in a ridiculous movie to criminal law clas complete with
every imaginable racist epithet and sexist word you could think of astounded
me a year ago . . .
i wrote him a letter about it.

a lot of kids i talk to hear an abundance of things across departments that

sound fairly litigable

as you oppose frivolous suits, so too wouldn't you hope that LACC do some
preventative work to make sure it follows this
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/calawquery?
codesection=edc&codebody=&hits=20
edu code?

well---thanks for your care and concern.

in addition to the dentistry issues, i sobbed for days bc i am so ashamed to be
held captive at a school where so many teachers disrespect students
with verbal abuse.

the fact that a teacher would boldly say "show your tits" twice in class and
then when called into question shout "tits and ass" to prove his "academic
freedom" is absurdly sickening to me.

obviously, i want i higher academic level as well.

the teacher wrote to me the next day

"Finally, before you make a mountain out of a mole-hill, perhaps you need to revisit the entomology of
the word "tit." It derives from teat, meaning nipple, and can be pronounced as tit or teet. Both men and
women have them, as do the cows on the farm on which I grew up."

and
"With all due respect, you are completely out of line. In no way can my class be described as "vulgar
and antiquated." I take offense at this gross misrepresentation. Before you levy such a charge against
me, I strongly suggest you think hard about what you are saying. You will see that you have no case."

can you imagine an adult teacher writing this in an email to another adult???
i think this email was almost worse than the class outburst bc it was so personal and such
an attempt to silence me.

by "antiquated" i mean an authoritarian tone which denigrates women and then attempts
to silence them by shouting and other forms of rudeness

and funnily also

"these base-less accusations have left me with no choice but to forbid all filming and taping of my
lectures, as my academic freedom is now at stake. "

freedom to say stupid things on tape, i guess?

i know you can't respond bc everybody has to protect their salary etc but i
thought i'd keep you in the loop.

too bad for the students and the fact that student bloggers will publish this on
the internet seems all the more reason for professors to exercise due care

thanks for all the classes and if you have any ideas for ways we can stop the
verbal abuse and the detrimental psychological effects, please let me know.

i was beset with so much anxiety spring 2009 bc of the horribly sexist and
unprofessional teaching style of lewis.

and lanzer's bitterness to women was all too clear and hateful.
multiple people have told me he asks out students and one girl dropped his
class for discomfort.
couldn't someone have a talk with him and explain to him that this is 2010?

here is my tedious blog.

i spoke up today at this ridiculous student government meeting where they
are spending the entire meeting on a defamation attack against a woman of
color.
i find it appallingly unintelligent and sad.

i am going to oregon to take an environmental policy class at portland state

university.
i can't wait.
i hope the people are more enlightened and professional up there.

thnx again and could you help tell the law team to be careful and stop
alienating students with bad behavior????
my experience has been poisoned, but it doesn't have to be that way for the
new students next fall.

thank you for keeping the academic level high. i really appreciate the pace.

WEDNESDAY, 28 APRIL 2010

as the classic debate between free speech and hate/speech and defamation
goes on, i would like to apologize to anyone who i have offended.

when i spoke today at the ASO meeting i spoke of the "lynching" of sheila d.
i told the LACC student government that to put a woman of color on trial in
2010 is a waste of time.

they are conducting themselves like the salem witch trial or mcarthy era red
scare.

those of us with our eye on the future know that transparency in all things
will be the norm for the future generation.

i will be videoblogging tonight at laccequalitycoalition tonight.

i think sheila should pursue this as harassment and discrimination, exhaust

the (ineffective) administrative remedies and proceed to court.

unfortunately the harassing and discriminatory and defamatory conduct of

the ASO will redound to the LACC adnministration and the LACC district.

that a woman of color could have her character impugned by a power bloc of
men, bent on wasting school resources on enacting their petty power display
and vengeance, is actionable.

that the administration enables this monkey court to conduct its sexist and
racist hate campaign, and squander student trust, is but another failure in a
long list of failures.
i, mary eng, founder of the LACC Equality Coalition, do not endorse the
sexist and racist action of the ASO.

nor to i accept attempts to censor my blog or sanitize language.

my blog is not here to whitewash LACC harassment and discrimination.

that Joseph Tolle, ASO VP for finance, screamed at me under the voting tent
today when i told him not to touch me, will be written up tomorrow in cristy
passman's office.

after i spoke against the divisiveness on campus twice in the opening forum,
he came up to me and wrapped his arm around me. i looked at his hand on
my arm and said, "i don't know who you are. who are you?"

i proceeded to get his name and email and his expression of confidence.
he came to me during the recess and tried to put his hand on me twice as he
explained why sheila should be impeached.

i flinched and puled away and he muttered, "i'm sorry."

then later in the courtyard, i realized, his condescending pattern of unwanted

and unsolicited touching must stop.

he put his hand on my shoulder again.

i said "don't touch me. i don't know who you are. you shouldn't touch
strangers."

he then screamed at me that i touched him and there was a double standard.
this is completely untrue, as i hadn't touched him.
i couldn't believe he would scream at me in public.
about ten people were present.
i can't believe he is a student government representative.

earic peters clarified the heirarchy of the grievance procedure, and let me
know that cristy passman is the appropriate place to discuss my assertion
that the use of the words in class "show your tits" twice and then "tits and
ass" shouted, constitute an unfair hostile atmosphere for women to pursue
their education in peace.

he kept repeating himself.

i told him cristy passman said i should go to student government to start a
program for equality in education.
he said that is not ASO's function.
that's christy passman's function.
i told him she is ineffective and brushes stuff under the rug.
andrea bari said even a teacher who complained about students saying
harassing stuff found her to be very dismissive.
a security officer student told me there is a history teacher on campus who
always has to say bad words.
i told him we should do an interview.

i hope to refocus some of these issues on to youtube, which might be a more

effective medium.

as for scott clapson who told me i should not use the word "lynch,"
i said to him, yes it is a strong word. it conveys racism. it conveys unfairness.

he said he would get a cease and desist letter to make me take them off the
blog.
i told him i already have a takedown letter from eric kim (on intellectual
property grounds).

he conveyed a bungled version of my broadcast in which i called the

classroom style authoritarian and fascistic.
i did not call anyone in particular a fascist.
i also wrote to the teacher more specifically addressing the way he talks down
to women when they speak in class.
my new friend gabby, who is heading up the denim day rape awareness film
competition, told me she notices this too, and for that reason, stays silent in
class.
when i witnessed it early in the semester, i almost arose to the defense of the
student who was being put down, but realized i wasn't ready to jeopardize my
grade and reputation.
now i can see the larger picture of how this too, has happened to me, and to
her over and again.

the funny thing about alleging sexism, is that sometimes sexist people are
moreover misanthropist.
so it gets fuzzy sometimes when the hatred gets doled out 60% women/40%
to men, etc.
as etymology was sighted by the professor himself, the origin of the word
"fasces" from the latin for the sticks of power might be helpful.

as blogs are powerful, technology can be powerful, education can be

powerful, i would recommend that the ASO and LACC district counsel worry
less about what happens on the blogosphere and more about the PR
nightmares and violations of equality in education statutes that occur on
their watch.

they shouldn't try to silence me, but get to the root of the problem, and head
off these lawsuits which really waste the school budget.

meanwhile they are crucifying sheila for an old school copy machine going
haywire, citing wasted paper as fiscal irresponsibility, i wonder . . .

lawsuits, frivolous power displays . . . are . . .

that another grown man would raise his voice at me at LACC, means i am
enduring psychological abuse as a result of my attempting to finish up my
paralegal classes at LACC.

i am not intimidated easily, but i do see the negative effects of this eating my
soul.

i am really happy to have met jay cortez's campaign manager jaden ledkins
who shares my enthusiasm for technology and the acceleration of IT power to
facilitate learning.
we here, are a part of the digital divide.

we need to make tech a part of the LACC experience!!!!

i asked ASO to get behind bambusering the next ASO meeting which will be
another stoning of sheila dharod.

wouldn't it be great to videocast ASO pettiness, divisiveness, etc.?

i am so ashamed.

it should be on the internet how mean and vicious and petty the proceedings
are.
plan to upload my quicktime footage later and broadcast audio tonight.

for fun check out this bit of california code:

talking with a friend about the ASO general pettiness.
and that the megan's law tidbit is an election manipulation.
of course.

but still so, i'd rather have fake sympathy than none at all!

christy passman this morning tried to ask if i meant for her to drop
the case.
by all means no!
and then scourged me for sending it to sacramento, because now
they are after her for an investigation.
of course.
i demurely said, oh its nice to know how the bureaucracy works.
she said she'd prefer if i'd not do that that.

and i joked, well this is not going to happen again is it?

if the school was a hate free zone with a proactive stance against
discrimination and pettiness and verbal hostilities and racism,
christie passman wouldn't have sacramento breathing down her
neck.
i have a vision of every classroom with a placard reading "hate free
zone" and numbers and emails for violations of an equal learning
atmosphere, and citations to the fed and state code providing for
equality in education.
citing the civil rights acts.
and so if teachers said offensive things, it would be against a
backdrop of complete information disclosure, a grievance process
plain to see, and the laws offended clearly on record.
and then would the students have the guts to stand up for
themselves?
or enough literacy to read the placard?

a brilliant law student mentioned that when the teacher hit the
student over the head with the student's project proposal, that
could constitute assault, and the student could file it.
wow, good point.

and the general inanity of the student government knows no

bounds except they do not like women or women of color, or
discussing anything important, but plan to spend all afternoon
tomorrow in pettiness, bickering, backbiting, and staging a public
crucifixion of sheila for making too many copies when the copier
misfired.
they are like a pack of wild dogs, with no concern for anything
concrete profound or true.
why i should drag my soul into their pathetic warmaking is not
clear.

i told sheila she should report the ASO haters to christie for
discrimination based on gender and ethnicity.
the male dominant types have totally taken over the legal
association as well, rendering it a bombastic place for men with
big voices and big egos to boom at eachother.
when one coyly asked if i wanted to type minutes, i thought how
funny,
here are all these guys looking for a big ego boost shouting a big
storm asking me to type it down when they've nothing to say.
ah to be relegated to secretarial role!
i have not returned.
silliness!!!!

how many days to freedom?

email response to gene fernandez who says the

abuse sounds scary
writing my blog
writing sacramento

made
report with christie passman (who protected the abusers spring 09)
report with joyce moore
report with earic peters

need to schedule meeting with peters

also crying nonstop bc

that is what psychological abuse is designed to do

intimidate people out of their right to an equal learning atmosphere

and make them weak powerless and afraid

i have also lost my appetite and have recurring thoughts of anxiety

and pain
and flashbacks

umm---i am trying to stay cool and not drop out of school but
when professors harass

women who have already been sexually harassed at work, by

strangers, etc or people who have been sexually abused
they trigger flashbacks and reignite the pain

i am so deeply saddened that LACC admin will not do something

proactive now to stop the abuse
thanks for your support gene.
i will forward to you an especially disgusting email from the tits
and ass professor

i have a huge history of correspondence with lewis who wanted us

to do a report on topless dancing and who talks about prostitution
in the most demeaning way possible.
he too is such a shame to the school

thank you

thanks to denim day 2010

http://www.denimdayinla.org/ yesterday 4-21-10
denim day is the perfect day to file harassment reports with your school or with the labor
commissioner for your creepy harassing boss.

a female cop told me there is harassment on the force but that's why you have to make reports.

so when you tell people you were raped people often twist it against you, like you are inferior or
damaged.
they complain about the extra effort.
i used to know this guy christian gunther from seattle who screamed slut and whore at women
and claimed that rape gave women too many problems.
i wondered why he thought shouting at them would help.

he was one of those eco-er than thou liberal progressive misogynists, east coast style.
so no matter how smart you were, he'd try to shred you to ribbons with a bunch of epithets.
all his friends thought he was . . .

so anyway, in light of the why i do not want to be talked to like this is a crackhouse in hell and
not a federally funded institution of higher learning theme . . .

here's my rape story:

when i was brutally raped and strangled in 2002, the rapist called me whore slut psychobitch
and screamed at me the whole time.
i have never been treated so badly.
i was strangled to the point of losing consciousness and seeing stars. he said stop screaming or
i'll kill you.
i was covered in bruises.
i though i was going to be killed, dismembered, and gang raped.

can you think of ways to help me through my anxiety?

maybe by not being so rude and pompous in class.
maybe by listening to women more.
and if they tell you, you are making them uncomfortable, really listen.
i don't like being told i have no case, when i tell you i feel uncomfortable.
that is very negative, like saying my feelings don't matter.
why would you want to hurt people?
when i hear language from this culture of cruelty to women, i feel bad again.
and silencing us, hurts too.

the anxiety is so powerful. could you respect what effort it took to get here, and put these bad
memories to rest, so we can move on with our lives.
why do you want to keep us down with unequal words and cruelty to women?
are you afraid of us?
did someone hurt you too?

so open letter to LACC professors, please respect women more.

the young men shouldn't learn how to be homophobic and misogynist from you.
what a betrayal!
please stop calling us sluts, cheesecake, tits and ass.

maybe you are really nice guys, but it really hurts a lot.

you can't unring a bell. i know who you are. i know what you said.
i hope you will never say it again. but i can't forget the disrespect you have shown us.

one of my heroes stood up to his school for protecting abusers at his school.
it happens to men too.

i hope my brother will fight for women.

i told him the men of the future will stand up for women first . . .
we all suffer when we wallow in negativity . . . everyone.

read about human rights lawyer karen parker's crusade against war rape
on
http://rapeisneverokay.blogspot.com/

so plus being raped twice, i was beaten savagely once by an upper crust guy max schuster who
screamed epithets the whole time.
his first line of attack was to destroy my glasses and then attack me.
when he was stomping on my skull with his foot, i realized oh my gosh he is really stomping on
my head!!!

i ran screaming to neighbors

and did my best to get him locked up at night court. . .

re: missing anthropology to go hang out with my awesomely respectful
dentist

i heard teacher called me out as the person who could have benefitted most
from his gendered language speech exercise.

as though i had not read anything regarding this phenomenon.

or taken semesters of philosophy and feminist philosophy
or read piles of books on the subject.

i felt that being absent would allow him to diffuse his anger in safety, far from
my observation.
in speaking to scott clapson today, i realize nothing.
scott wants me to go to school early to check in.

re: the dentist: i would rather listen to drills drilling on my face than come to
class today.

scott will write a letter of defense for teach first. i told it him think its
awesome, that i wanted to spark a discussion.

all the things i said in my email already, scott thinks i should say in person.

but scott doesn't understand what its like to be a woman and deal with all
this hate all our whole lives.
i turned in my paperwork to christie passman's office today.
despite knowing she will do little, a little is better than nothing.

i can't imagine being a grown man called into a grown woman's office for
shouting "tits and ass" at another grown woman.

it sounds surreal.

i would never put myself in that position.

i duplicated my files and sent them to sacramento.
they will have to write me back, and tell me why they think women should
shut up and take it, just like last time, when i complained about lewis, lanzer,
and vargas.

so roll call.
meeting with earic peters soon.

jay cortez ASO VP candidate is excited about videostreaming for disability

rights. he knows about all the ivy league schools broadcasting class.
hooray an ally.

sheila and gene fernandez helped me file a time request to speak at the next
ASO meeting about equality and harassment.

scott clapson told me rodriguez in sociology uses the word spik.

i don't know what it means.
but i think its offensive.

andrea bari told me lewis was screaming at a student outside the cafe, the
adult student being stephen stapleton who was requesting a list pertaining to
the veteran's student group.
andrea was shocked to see lewis in the face of a student raising his voice.

the ASO has turned lynch mob against sheila.

it is really creepy how the men around here can't stand it when women talk
or have ideas. they throw major temper tantrums.

the last time i went to the legal association it was a big time waste complete
with polystyrene cups and a disgusting meaty pizza party and a muti-level
marketing speaker, who while being a nice person, had no legal info per se,
other than suggesting we buy a monthly prepaid legal service. a good idea.

so when the clubs become so thick with their own bureaucracy i wonder why
it is they don't listen to some good ideas.
but they are just kids too!!!!

all the whole world is made of people looking for meaning.

when i told scott i cried all weekend and am missing classes and tests bc my
nerves are frayed by the condescending tone of some of these profs . . .
well he started to understand . . .

i heard lanzer has had students quit his class bc he keeps asking them out.
two different names came up.
i actually have nothing against teachers dating adult students.
but if its not mutual, and class is in session, its pretty creepy to make people
feel so uncomfortable.

awesomely its denim day.

rape.
i even told the tits and ass prof about how hard it is to deal with rape.
he probably didnt even read my letter, or process the info.
i made a little denim day video i will burn to DVD.
i think i should make a bunch.
so happy i didn't miss the deadline.

i guess the sad thing about class, is that the whole political imapct of CEDAW
and LAPD rape kit DNA evidence human rights failure, would make such a
better class than tits and tits and tits and ass.

but i'll try to fit that in my presentation.

i'm dreading going to class.

should i wear earplugs and a blindfold?
isn't that how they trick an animal led to slaughter?

and that my grants and loans make me a bit of a financial prisoner to this
fake school swindle.
i know LACC is in a sense a bit of a dead end job.
i loved my property law test and real estate law test.
plus i filed my labor law reports to both sacramento and LA offices of DLSE.
that's a separate crusade, the sexual harassment at work.

and then christy passman will walk in on my excellent memo under her door
tomorrow.
i think i should make copies of my complaints and scan them or pass them
around.
i actually want to carry the blank complaint forms with me, so every time
people tell me about their harassment, i can hook them up with the do-
nothing bureaucracy so they can feel really depressed.

i remember the hope i felt when i thought that somebody would say, "i am so
sorry. this will never happen again. we will do everything in our power to
protect your civil rights and punish the offenders."

how depressing to realize equality is a big joke at LACC.

and guess who's getting the last laugh.
the hetero white man.
on a campus this diverse.

the amazing guy at the cafe says i should take it to the LA TIMES.
what a great idea.

spent the time talking to administration.
joyce moore, student dean, sent me to the department chair, wendell eckford,
who was extremely kind and gracious.

he understood the subtle spiritual nuance of what is going on here.

he really gave me good advice about speaking with people in person, keeping
the emails concise, and for making appointments.

and then christie passman wowed me with her charming diplomacy and
career advice, hoping to persuade me not to file formal complaints, to save
the paperwork, and time drain.
nice try.

eckford will try to clean up his department, and because i am filing a formal
complaint, christie will have to have a little talk with the "tits and ass"
professor as well.

i know she'll go easy on him, so he needn't worry.

suddenly, my anxiety about class has dissolved.

i really needed the experience of talking to all these wise people today.
christie gave me advice about law school, and wendell encourages me to
write, or be a public speaker for political causes.
it was really flattering.

he told me what a rough time his friend had as one of the only four women in
the UCLA anthropology department, where the prevailing vibe was "old boys
club." wendell also confirmed that he has heard that the law professors are
barbarians.

so it gets around.

he told me of the term "t&a" used to disparage a woman's career success.

christie passman says she has heard complaints around campus about the
quality in the law department.
she didn't seem to care about women being called "cheesecake" or having
their weight gain mocked in property law.
that is getting a formal complaint as well.
i love duffy, and he's a great teacher, but want to school him on why it is not
still 1966.

it was such a rainy afternoon.

the only trouble is, i have to reschedule my real estate law test, and go to the
dentist tomorrow again.
this stuff is important, more important than grades.

all this effort takes time.

it felt worth it today.
it felt very educational . . . .

writing gene fernandez who is running for ASO president asking him to put
equality and an end to harassment on campus at the top of his campaign
platform!

so happy to have his support!!!!

today's correspondence:

dear gene, there were witnesses

forty people heard him shout "tits and ass"
my classmates will verify
bartelt in anthropology also talks about the asshole
hypothesis, getting laid, and why margaret thatcher is a
man

and then thirty people heard lanzer (paralegal dept) say

a woman could make more money as a slut than paralegal
other people were there

he also spoke of dumb woman, and horrible woman

lewis in the legal dept wasted the entire semester

talking about hookers and prostitutes
and treated my freind talissa extra insulting. she is
a woman of color.
both the head of the legal department and christie
passman are making the lame excuse,
oh they are just trying to be funny.

i dont think its funny.

thank you for taking me seriously.

i really appreciate your support.

and because it seems like you really care, i will help

you in any way i can!!!
i have my blog and my videostream.
what i think is next is that i need to either flyer the
campus and or host a public forum discussion group, or
present at ASO more in depth, at least ten minutes or
so.

the ACLU club leader vasquez says mexicans were insulted

in a class.
islamophobic staff members have insulted women under the
veil.

the more people we can get to come forward the better.

i started a formal complaint process last year.

it gives a slap on the wrist to the professor.

i think we as students should rise up and say this is

not enough.

our lives and futures and finances are on the line.

the school is getting sued.
we deserve better.

thank you for caring

i can't wait to meet and discuss this.
i have a renewed faith that we can actually do
something.
a coalition of hardworking passionate people who want to
make a better future for young people!!!!

does ASO meet tomorrow?

see you soon call me any time

What is this professor doing that is absurd towards women? Find out if
anyone else in your class feels the same way and we can build a case
towards your cause. Without empirical evidence or a witness it will be
very hard for you to complain about this professor.

time we talked when i told her about the topless dancing assignment in

maybe she will have advice.

i really regret that i failed to go to bryn mawr.

listening to amazing novelist and lawyer hilary mantel.

she was talking about the sexism at london school of economics the year she

dan diamond thinks i should work this into a stage play, and pitch it to the
theater department and make it kind of theater of the absurd.
he thinks that the professors think they are so postmodern that they can
repeat the culture back to itself and act like it is freedom.

i told him what bothers me most is how stuck in the past all these comments
are. that if anyone actually had a good relationship with women or with
bodies in general, there would be no need to sensationalize stuff along the
judeochristian repression/taboo fault line. it is really a childish dichotomy.

in a future i imagine, all bodies could be respected and be working together

on beautiful things like a better environment, peace, diplomacy, and an end
to all racism and war and war rape, and cruelty of every kind.
we would realize that our moments of intellection together in the same room,
are so valuable, that so many bigger things are at stake.

we could really put our heads together.

being the loudest voice in the room is really childish.

shouting at women and trying to diminish their self-esteem by reducing them
to mere body parts is self-sabotage.

any of the things we pretend to care about would do better to have a complete
coalition of all voices, including women, transgendered and people of all
backgrounds.

i am reminded of the black panther's command: renounce your white skin

privilege.
and as the lawyers guild was speaking recently of misogyny within the black
panthers, and the need to hold them accountable, so all groups of people
must incorporate self critique.

if the white hetero privilege is not renounced, the benefits conferred will give
poison to the message.

the failure to disavow the power benefit of being raised white and male and
hetero in this society, puts one on the side of the aggressors.

as my teacher shouted "tits and ass" over me, i felt pity, that someone with so
many good ideas would think he could afford to alienate women, and youth,
and equality minded people.
and that he equates this with freedom.

when i really want to talk about CEDAW, war rape, LAPD rape kit backlog,
human trafficking, the linguistics of marginalization, pink collar ghettos,
sexism in academia, sexism in religion, homophobia, sexism in marriage.

i told a couple friends about teacher's idea that transgendered people validate
real men's real identity, and show real women how to be real women, a gross
abstraction uttered during our Paris is Burning discussion.

i attempted to clear this up, and was told, "we don't want to wig anybody out
here," which was a way of trying to discredit what i had to say about Judith
Butler's Gender Trouble, and gender spectrums.

the prevailing norm that there is such a a thing as a real man, and the
utiliritarian look at transgenderism as some kind of hetero-reifyer, is crass to
me.

and that margaret thatcher is a man, and any woman of power and
confidence will be attacked for her physique and femininity, in the class
room, is so offensive to me.

i miss my days of short hair and boy clothes.

would teacher say the same thing about me?

mary eng is a man.

what does that mean?
am i. bc i have no fear to call him out for sexism?

if i were the profs i'd be ashamed to show face.

similarly all my podcast lectures are epithet-free.

LA is a funny place, a retrogressive misogynnist vibe prevails.

its very republican in a sense . . .

my father was far more eloquent and i never had to be around that
kind of talk except maybe in . . .

thanks for understanding.

none of them really know what its like to be abused on grounds of
gender or orientation, i wonder. or violent crime i wonder?
with that convenient white hetero male cloak of authority, it is so
odd for them to say, my request for comfort and respect is
unimportant.

you would never do this, franke, idit, david wood, sarah

Hi Mary,
I don't know what to say exactly, but I do wish you well. Not having been there or, after
reading the blog, having not seen much evidence either way, it would be a mistake for me to
judge one way or the other that your profs have or have not spoken or acted disrespectfully (or
more or less). Nor am I an expert in such things. In any case, their intent, as well as the
context within which "crude" language was used, is obviously very important, and that context
and intent I have almost no access to. And when legal accusations turn up, everyone gets
understandably defensive and, often, less reasonable and flexible and friendly. But obviously
you've been stung by something, and I'm sorry for that. Being stung by words is no fun
whatsoever. So I am simply sending you my best wishes.
I hope you can build bridges with your efforts. And amidst such stresses, I hope you can find
time to exercise, eat well, and relax with friends.
Best,
Scott

professors on rampage shirk professionalism in favor of words
like "tits and ass," "slut" etc. racism and homophobia and sexism
torture
hey! if you want to be ridiculed for being mexican, hear unfair stereotypes about african-americans,
hear homophobic rants about whether or not tom cruise is gay, or hear words like slut whore and tits
and ass in the classroom, you should totally go to LACC.
Los Angeles Community College on vermont at santa monica blvd.

we even have a teacher who talks about prostitution 80% of the time.

and others obsessed by masturbation.

gym teachers who harass female students.

sexist english teachers.

the administrative oversight likes to push stuff under the carpet.

the professors are hell-bent on being offensive as often as possible.

LACC is getting sued.

they are so confused.

you can get free tuition with a fee waiver.

but be prepared to be abused, on the taxpayer's dime.

LACC district counsel eric kim says i should take down my expose blog.

i think they need to get sued again for protecting abuse.

they act like the internet never happened.

professors who specifically have a weird way about women in the classroom:
lanzer: slut, dumb woman, horrible women
lewis: hooker, topless dancing assignment, homophobia, harasses women of color
bartelt: "tits and ass" shouted at student, jokes about margaret thatcher being a man and "show your
tits"
duffy: speaks of women as "cheesecake" and of wives who gain 100 lbs. eating bon-bons while trying
to take advantage of men financially
vargas: brings in film with every other word whore or the n-word. not kidding.

if you guys have some more examples please comment or write me.

Common effects on the victims

Common professional, academic, financial, and social effects of sexual
harassment:
• Decreased work or school performance; increased absenteeism
• Loss of job or career, loss of income
• Having to drop courses, change academic plans, or leave school (loss of
tuition)
• Having one's personal life offered up for public scrutiny—the victim
becomes the "accused," and his or her dress, lifestyle, and private life
will often come under attack.
• Being objectified and humiliated by scrutiny and gossip
• Becoming publicly sexualized (i.e. groups of people "evaluate" the
victim to establish if he or she is "worth" the sexual attention or the risk
to the harasser's career)
• Defamation of character and reputation
• Loss of trust in environments similar to where the harassment occurred
• Loss of trust in the types of people that occupy similar positions as the
harasser or his or her colleagues
• Extreme stress upon relationships with significant others, sometimes
resulting in divorce; extreme stress on peer relationships, or
relationships with colleagues
• Weakening of support network, or being ostracized from professional or
academic circles (friends, colleagues, or family may distance themselves
from the victim, or shun him or her altogether)
• Having to relocate to another city, another job, or another school
• Loss of references/recommendations
Some of the psychological and health effects that can occur in someone who
has been sexually harassed: depression, anxiety and/or panic attacks,
sleeplessness and/or nightmares, shame and guilt, difficulty concentrating,
headaches, fatigue or loss of motivation, stomach problems, eating
disorders (weight loss or gain), alcoholism, feeling betrayed and/or violated,
feeling angry or violent towards the perpetrator, feeling powerless or out of

from alliance defense fund

ABOUT Lopez v. Candaele
Several weeks after the presidential election in November 2008, a Los
Angeles City College professor, John Matteson, censored and threatened to
expel student Jonathan Lopez following a speech he gave about his Christian
faith during an open-ended assignment in a public speaking class. After
Lopez gave the dictionary definition of marriage and recited two Bible verses,
Matteson interrupted and ended Lopez’s presentation mid-speech, calling
him and anyone who voted yes on Proposition 8—the California marriage
amendment—a “fascist bastard” in front of the class. Refusing to grade the
assigned speech, the professor wrote on Lopez’s speech evaluation form, “Ask
God what your grade is,” and later threatened to expel the student. On behalf
of Lopez, attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund filed a lawsuit against the
LACC District, contending that its speech code under its “sexual harassment”
policy is unconstitutional and empowered the very kind of censorship Lopez
suffered. One section of the problematic code states that if students think
that they are doing or saying anything that might be “perceived as offensive,
pervasive, or unwelcome,” they must stop such unlawful behavior.
CURRENT STATUS OF Lopez v. Candaele AS OF 3/2/10
ADF attorneys filed suit against LACCD in February 2009. The U.S. District
Court for the Central District of California issued an injunction in July,
prohibiting the district from enforcing its speech code as the case moves
forward. In September, the court denied LACCD’s motion to reconsider the
order, noting that “the Policy undeniably targets the content of expression”
and is “unconstitutionally overbroad by sweeping within its reach a
substantial amount of protected speech.” In the preliminary injunction order,
the federal court noted that the policy is problematic because it “reaches
constitutionally protected speech that is merely offensive to some
listeners....” The court also stated that, “Supreme Court precedents ‘leave no
room for the view that, because of the acknowledged need for order, First
Amendment protections should apply with less force on college campuses
than in the community at large. Quite to the contrary, the vigilant protection
of constitutional freedoms is nowhere more vital than in the community of
American schools.’” The court order enjoined the district policy that would
have empowered administrators to punish Lopez for his speech. ADF
Litigation Staff Counsel David J. Hacker is scheduled to present oral
argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit on March 3 in
defense of the federal court order prohibiting LACCD’s enforcement of the
policy.
FOCUS OF HEARING – WHAT IS AT STAKE?
The hearing will determine whether LACCD will be allowed to enforce a
speech code—found unconstitutional by a federal court—while the lawsuit
moves forward. If the policy is allowed, the college will be allowed to trump
student free speech rights protected by the First Amendment while the case
is being litigated. A public college shouldn’t penalize Christian students for
expressing their beliefs, let alone seek to enforce policies that have already
been found unconstitutional.

so if women are molehills . . . and equality a molehill . . .

thank you for the response and the attention.

i love the class but find a bit of the chatter
t&a, and the a-hole hypothesis, and talk of "getting laid" (in bio), margaret
thatcher being a man, etc . . . to be . . .

also if you knew what i went thru in my other classes you might see the
cumulative nature of this.
in my other classes
i have heard professor rant on and on about hookers, prostitutes, bring
films in with the word whore, the n-word, words i don't even know.
another prof talks about students making more money on the streets as a
slut than in the legal field etc.

actually many of my friends have had a lot of trouble with profs in many
depts. regarding racism, sexism, etc.

you of all people seem to be more sensitive to what women endure.

i am not into absolutist definitions of words and meanings and yes indeed
did revisit the etymology.

because i was so lucky to have a very elegant and graceful father and go to
nice schools before, i find the utilization of such language out of step with
what i prefer, as well as out of step with the lectures i follow by
correspondence online.

the lopez case as you are probably aware to me is demonstrative of the

school's failure to protect its dwindling resources.

i think a high level of care should be taken to respect all students and err on
the side of respect.

the fact that the school has to pay up for a prof calling a student a "bastard"
is evidence of how delicately students must be treated. i in no way support
the homophobic rant of the student either.

but the fact that teachers words can be very expensive, should alert all profs
to the degree of respect and care they should show the school budget, if not
the actual students.
as words evolve and change meanings, i think that is where a concept of
consent might play in.
a word with a very innocent meaning can change and vice-versa, for which
culture.
if i tell you it makes me uncomfortable, might you not say, oh i'm so sorry,
let's think of a different way to express this?

it is the force of your personality which i most admire, and which gives me
courage. if it feels overwhelming, i think it is because we, as students are
trained to be passive, and mild mannered.

i'm sorry i feel that the constant drip of verbal cruelty to women in culture
in general is fascistic, but overall it is so culturally endemic to be quite
annoying.

it doesn't really matter about the broadcasts anyway.

your class is amazing, overall and you know that. i wouldn't attempt this
conversation if it were not so.

i think the presumption that we should accept all the language blindly is the
last thing you'd want . . . a bunch of sheep for students?
that doesn't sound any fun.
i am sorry if any of the words i used, offended you as well.
as surely i could have rephrased them to more accurately say what i meant.
most of all all i mean to say is that i subjectively feel overall, uncomfortable,
with how women are treated, linguistically, civically, etc in this world.
and reminders of the disparity i feel can reinforce the status quo. i think the
class shouldn't align itself with pop-culture language and should try to find
a more enlightened level of respect.
thanks for listening, and for being so thought-provoking, and for being such
a great teacher, overall my second fave of all time, next to idit dobbs-
weinstein who had to sue my old sexistalma mater to keep her job.
you guys are the best!

Mary,

With all due respect, you are completely out of line. In no way can my class be described as "vulgar and antiquated." I
take offense at this gross misrepresentation. Before you levy such a charge against me, I strongly suggest you think hard
about what you are saying. You will see that you have no case.

I take pedagogy seriously. I take accusations like this seriously. In no way do i think this a laughing matter.
Finally, before you make a mountain out of a mole-hill, perhaps you need to revisit the entomology of the word "tit." It
derives from teat, meaning nipple, and can be pronounced as tit or teet. Both men and women have them, as do the cows on
the farm on which I grew up.

I also do not appreciate your calling me a fascist. These are serious charges/accusations and I will not stand by and let a
student throw such accusations my way - especially when they are completely unwarranted. I always welcome questions
and discussion. In fact, I go out of my way to facilitate that.

I tried to accommodate you and your desire to video my lectures. However, these base-less accusations have left me with no
choice but to forbid all filming and taping of my lectures, as my academic freedom is now at stake. I will make a formal
announcement in class next week.

property law: marriage is for man and woman, and
women eat bonbons and gain 100 pounds
i don't believe in real anything. real lacc or anything else.
whatever happens here
is amazing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles_City_College.

i love how people look down on you for going to a poor school in the ghetto.
i love it.

it makes me so proud.

i just found a bunch of old books left over from the book sale fundraiser.

too bad the bookstore is closing early due to the budget crisis. 3pm.
ridiculous. sad.

but hey all the free books that got trashed after the book sale are amazing.
i found hannah arendt eichman in jerusalem

quizzing duffy in property law on the heterosexist marriage system

we are talking property
community property
he is decrying the bon-bon eating (presumably female) spouse.
the class was really getting carried away here.
haha. not.
seemed time to get serious about gay marriage since everything has to be so
heterosexist conservative here in property law.
my cool classmate helped the follow up question.
and duffy seemed to answer this has nothing to do with property law. it was a
little rude, in a subtle way. i felt it. sort of subtext being: if i answer this
question i might become gay so i have to dis you a little to make sure you
know i'm straight.
but really it does have something to do with property law.
he reaffirmed that a valid marriage is defined by a wife and a husband.
BLAH!
funny.
but he likes me too much to talk down to me.
that was why it was impt to follow up about a question about
when you say domestic partnership what do you mean? a registered one?
he didn't really answer it bc i asked too much at once and got us sidetracked
onto common law marriage.

i am glad about getting respect from duffy. sort of. duffy is the best teacher
ever despite endorsing waterboarding in guantanamo. no kidding.
found that out last term.
it was off the record as class wound down.
it was the perfect time for me to tell him about the foulness in the legal dept.
because even if he does endorse waterboarding, he is appalled by a lack of
professionalism, and has too much pride to let the craft steer too far off
course for long.
his tell tale jibe at the dilution of quality in the department regarding
spoon-feeding etc has not gone unnoticed.

happy to have dropped two classes.

the discovery is that if i am mentally numbed by the teaching style, regardless
of the objective quality, it means i learn nothing to negligible.
in a sense it is my fault.

i will honestly miss lanzer, despite resenting his sexist statements prior. he is
so dry and acerbic, and sarcastic. its dark and funny. and the sexist part is so
textbook 1950's. he always reminded me of richard burton in who's afraid
of virginia woolf. i mean that as a compliment.

and as for vargas's legal writing, he's teaching it like we are in kindergarten,
so my brain completely shuts off, due to the massive level of condescention.
his family law is more fun, more theoretical, and i don't like boring grammar
lessons.
hello i read finnegan's wake already!
six hours of his tedious approach is more than i can take.
three hours will be enough.
about something interesting.
the family.
especially after he really goofed it by screening such a sexist film a year ago.
just so i can know he has no taste, imagination, or respect for women.
can't believe he thought i'd want to go to class to hear every trashy sexist
epithet in the book and watch a bad movie.
pure laziness and lack of imagination.
he would not imagine how smart we are and how much respect we deserve or
crave.
he's still a nice guy though, with nice power points, nice outlines, etc.
and he says the LSAT is hard.
hmm.

at the lawyers guild, i met this amazing lawyer lisa jaskol, a pioneer of
campus sexual harassment law.
awesome.
from

"Amicus Briefs

policy issues affecting women, and, in those cases in which WLALA agrees to participate, prepares
or edits amicus briefs on behalf of WLALA. In recent years, WLALA has participated as an amicus
in a number of precedent-setting cases, including Davis v. Monroe County, in which the U.S.
Supreme Court held that school districts may be held liable for their own deliberate indifference of
student-on-student sexual harassment, and United States v. Morrison, in which the U.S. Supreme
Court declared the civil rights remedy of the Violence against Women Act unconstitutional."

getting some support from fellow students!!!!
LACC IP club founder says please speak slowly.

now he finally gets what i am saying about embedding video in the blog.

i told him we can do the same for the IP club if we could get to an unblocked
signal.
why does LACC hate tech so much?
FISA.
no that's not it.
its so easy.
i wish i could broadcast duffy, he's so great!!!! in property law---back to my
class notes---here
http://duffysrealestatelacc.blogspot.com/
making mp3s

got a little testy over the concern for my safety leaving lawyers guild last
night.
i was like yes, i have been raped, strangled, car-jacked, robbed.
no big deal.
read about it here:
http://rapeisneverokay.blogspot.com/
the poverty/environmentalism which sees my tough self home by bus or
train, means i feel sorry for the car people.
that they have to be so condescending, when actually i feel sorry for them,
that they never get any exercise, and are scared to walk to the bus stop.

i don't really believe in real this or real that.

i'm totally facetious as usual lol!
but if you want to read about the real LACC
read here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles_City_College
its wiki-real!
open to change and wiki-nerd modification.
i'm a blogger nerd not a wiki nerd.

oh and my friend is dropping his class with the majorly sexist law prof. he
can't take it anymore.
why?
why does the prof have a job?
why does he terrorize innocent minds?
why does admin protect it and not demand more?

i want interviews explaining things.

dan diamond says i need to go the school board or sacramento or something.

i already did, but need to again, because the icing on the cake keeps getting
thicker. the belligerent stream of cruelty is irrevocable. it poisons the
experience.
it gives me anxiety.
it also makes me laugh it is so absurd.

thinking of shelley's writing the necessity of atheism and getting kicked out
of oxford in consequence, and his young death.
funny that writing can be so dangerous.
but is it?
i think of blogs as ghettos for the disenfranchised educationally.
if i'd gotten a stupid PHD by now i could have had one of those cush do-
nothing jobs, at least at LACC or utah state or somewhere boring.
and have a little money, and drink coffee, and go to school to call kids a
bunch of epithets my racist sexist parents/teachers taught me.
and get paid for it.
get the school sued for it.
piss off a bunch of people.
reinforce the status quo.
go way hoi polloi.
make them laugh like LACC is the comedy store and i'm michael richards.
yeah.

hey but wait a minute, my parents were enlightened people . . . and i don't
watch TV . . . and when lame hipsters try to rub their creepy sexist language
off on me, i tell them to never call me again.
i really mean it.
i am so over all this creepiness.

except i'm bought off by hope for a degree, a good class, a crystal of
information, a shred of respect, a discussion, a learning experience, a job, a
future, a pell grant, a loan.

ready for a mountain.

and can't wait for class tomorrow.
class sometimes makes my head feel amazingly sparkly.
it was so funny one day when bartelt said "speak english woman!" when i said
double entendre.
what a laugh.
new resolution, to try to write like i think.
and if that means some nonsense or latin or french or whatever so be it.
it will be wonderful
just wish i knew hebrew and arabic.

i love the internet.

fantastic times at LACC!!!!

love my classes!!!!!

sheila and i went to the lawyers guild last night and had a blast learning
about the budget crisis and protest arrests and police involvement.

LACC is a beautiful spartan campus nestled in the interstices between

koreatown and hollywood.
there are such lovely people there and such a wealth of diversity!!!! i will
never have such a good time!!!

but i wish my professors were more respectful, or modern, or tech savy, or

that teachers cared about equality. equality is a joke.

my favorite professors made jokes yesterday about prostitution and margaret

thatcher being a man.
i found it tasteless and unfunny.
but at least we know what their obsessions are.

these are the good teachers, the excellent ones, comparatively.

i like them in spite of everything.

ms. matranga in OSS really tried to put out my passion over disability rights.
all this tech stuff is confusing i know!!!!
equality stuff!
out of the stone ages stuff!!!

lawyers are the best!!!!

i think eric kim rules for getting LACC the best price on incompetance.
he wouldn't tell me how much LACC had to settle for, but i am sure he
worked hard to cover for the lazy administrations failure to prevent lawsuits.

gene little said that some students allege racism when they get bad grades.
cool thing about me is i don't give a flip about grades!!!!!

so my motives are a little more pure.

i care about respect, and getting my grants and loans, and getting to a better
school, and a better city.
but if the old mavens think i will not talk back when they spew misogyny all
over the class, they are wrong.
in titus andronicus, the maimers of lavinia cut out her tongue so she could
not speak.
that won't be me.
i will not have my mouth taped, veiled, muffled, silenced.
my favorite professor of all time had to sue regarding discriminatory tenuring
policies.
the fight is not over, for respect.

give a little, and they will take a lot.

better to be on the offense, and let them know, we have higher standards,
academically and otherwise.
okay we don't have a big budget.
but plenty of people with lots of money have no class, and plenty of poor
people have tons of class.
so LACC has to act all shady and hateful and cover their tracks and insult
people at every turn like its not the internet age.
like we won't video it, tape it, blog it, remember it, sue over it.
haha.
they are so funny.
they come from innocent times, when you could get away with murder.
true equality and true respect are just around the corner.
but the pompous fools with big egos and outdated worldviews have to divest
of their hatred, and look critically at their own creepiness, before the future
can happen.
it is not cool to cut the disability services budget.
its not cool to block the technology that would bring the school up-to-date.
it is not cool to keep calling women prostitues and cheesecakes in class.
its LAME.

letter to district counsel eric kim:
http://culturalanthropologynotesbartelt.blogspot.com/

http://duffysrealestatelacc.blogspot.com/
more blogs
two more class blogs for educational purposes---are you anti-education or
anti-functionality of internet web notetaking?

do you realize i am volunteering as an innovator for the tech pilot program

which will catch lacc up to date with tech streaming etc?
i have the support of several professors and susan matranga in OSS (for
disabilities).

are you aware of the digital components of all the best schools, stanford,
harvard, LSE etc?
do you realize i am doing this for free bc i really care about education and
learning and disability rights?

this is for our extracurricular IP club that deals with paralegal club dept
deficits.
http://unintellectualproperty.blogspot.com/
why is LACC anti-tech?

why is the IT signal so slow and blocked against streaming classes?

do you realize how beneficial open content will be for tutors for the blind and
dyslexic, everyone?

do you realize this could be a paid IT job of the future---to build archives of
the teachers who are actually good?
duffy in law and bartelt in anthropology have such worthwhile classes, and
they are both supportive and intrigued.

i really appreciate your attention, and think it is very important for you to
make such requests, for your records, visavis old fashioned IP norms.

i however do not politically believe in censorship and restriction of

information on IP or any other grounds, as i similarly, and yet seemingly
contradictorily do not want to be around crass proffs who fill their own
mouths with expletives and spew them on us.

if they want to be crass and foul and sexist, maybe they need a blog, and then
someone with some skill and decency could have a job, and we could retire
the offending profs and their enabling admin protectors.

gene little was really nice today on the phone.

i added a disclaimer to the real lacc.
you know i publish and delete things all the time on a whim. but you know it
is admin's province to head off PR nightmares in the digital age.

if they adequately trained professors and dealt with the epidemic of

incompetence, their would be no blogs decrying them.

so why don't you send christie passman a takedown notice too, and tell her to
clean up the sloppy lazy misogynistic and racist language and harassment
that permeates many departments.
why don't you guys get proactive?
to protect the taxpayer, protect the students, and to protect yourselves.

the blogosphere should be the least of your worries. it is the real

incompetence and failure for educational equity that is the real problem.
real human beings are walking out of class because of sexism, islamophobia,
denigration of mexicans, sterotyping african-americans, sexual harassment
by gym teachers, law proffs obsessed by the words slut whore hooker
prostitute and a homophobic obsession over whether or not tom cruise is gay.
this is total BS and not academic.
it is not equal and not fair.
i'm giving you a heads up to be nice.
same for the kids.
mary eng

i just wanted to thank office of legal counsel for LACC district for reading my
blog!!!!!!! thanks eric kim! i'm sorry i was so aggressive on the phone! i just
think its such a waste of school money and student time, to have an
administration that can't screen out the sexist proffs or at least advise them
of the legal responsibility to shut their yapping sexist mouths!!!!
they can totally still be sexist and creepy on their own time, it just shouldn't
happen at LACC paid for by tax dollars.
its unfair.
its sloppy.
it was also nice talking to gene little about equality on campus. i told him we
are on the same team.
neither of us want any more expensive lawsuits wasting LACC money over
professorial incompetence. the funny thing about free speech, is that the
blogosphere is really free.
so free i think i'll copy paste eric kim's take down notice so we can discuss
intellectual property and censorship with a fun study problem.
while it would be super easy to censor this out of the school paper, or the
company website, this is an entirely different medium.
probably nobody reads this, so i don't think eric kim, legal counsel to the
school, should be so worried.
and like i told gene little a moment ago, if the professors were 100%
professional and non-offensive, antiracist, and antisexist, then there would
be no reason to waste my time writing a blog on a field of law i find rather
boring.

i am far more interested in environmental and human rights law.

the fact that the professors think its okay to speak sexistly to women, is just
so shocking. so old school. so bad TV.
i thought they were trying to get fired, but really, friends don't fire each other.

i think the brilliant fink lawyer and i had some ideological disparities, or
rather, lucrative disparities. while being an outstanding pioneer on sexual
harassment law, this might not be a quick kill. we do have to work within the
prevailing idiocracy which prefers egregious harassment.

i love talking to these honored elders. i'm sorry if i implied they are out of
touch or complacent.
i'm not going to be around much longer anyway.
i'm doing it for the people.
even a lot of guys are sick of sexist backward professors.
i'm not kidding.
young guys are so amazing sometimes.
they just are so much more fair.
i love it!!!!
so the BS radar is in place, and thanks for reading!!!!
hopefully everything will be so perfect from now on, that we can whitewash
history!!!!! pretend that women were never shut out of academia, pretend
they don't make 60-70% of the white male dollar. Pretend LAPD prosecutes
rape, and doesn't just ignore the DNA evidence. we can pretend that women
are not harassed at work or the home too.

the huge waste of time, of taking a class, and then showing up to be verbally
abused, and condescended to . . . well . . .
blogs are free!!!!!
therapy!!!!!
but what eric kim doesn't get about the algebra blogspot is that i have the
support of disability services which was so excited to see the american sign
language videoed via free bambuser.com. i am working as a volunteer to
develop alternative tutorial methods.
and build archives.
so is office of legal counsel trying to say they really want dyslexic people and
deaf people to not have learning resources?
that seems pretty anti-education to me.

p.s. its not like i think lacc district would actually sue me, although it would
be totally funny.
sue me for #1 getting harassed and #2 complaining. that would be so bogus.
they need to learn how the internet works.

its not my job to contain damage. its their problem. its their little PR
nightmare and all the more reason they should get their professors into
shape.
so they don't get bad reviews on yelp or ratemyproffs or blogs dah!
Hello Ms. Eng:
I hope you were able to get in touch with Cristy Passman, Compliance Officer at LACC or Gene Little, the
District's Director of Diversity Programs, after our conversation.
Also, the Los Angeles Community College District (the "District") requests that you change the name of your
blog(s), (i.e., "thereallacc.blogspot.com," "laccalgebra.blogspot.com") so that "lacc" is not incorporated into the
name. Under the California Education Code, the college names and abbreviations of those names are the
property of the District, and cannot, without permission of the District, be used to designate any business, social,
political, religious, or other organization. Of course, you are certainly free to comment about LACC within the
body of the blog. Thank you.

i am deeply sorry for all my previous impressions. i feel so lucky to have a few
good teachers, and love the confidence it gives me to be challenged
intellectually.
i am sorry i ask so much.
i have made an effort to get my head out of the muck. for instance, i think
duffy in the law department is such a valuable resource. his mind is razor
sharp and his lecture fast. i thanked him for his effort, with hint of other
dissatisfactions. he said, "oh, we're just old fashioned" and then i thought of
sister mary david and her old fashioned grammar class. low fi classrooms
with a strict approach. but duffy makes such clever jokes you rarely laugh
out loud. all the brain is occupied decoding them. there is no time to laugh,
he goes so fast, but gee he's funny.
i told him we need to digitize his lecture, just like they are doing at every
major school, at london school of economics, or new york law.
i love c is for culture.
http://nyls.mediasite.com/mediasite/SilverlightPlayer/Default.aspx?
peid=4f3acab65b424c17b0eeb26ec8be6bc2

and then my anthropology teacher ties the loose knots of what was the frayed
odds and ends of philosophy i pretended to care for as a child. and i am
almost sure he is the best teacher ever, but maybe that is because i agree with
him on so many things. important things regarding racism and the
environment. so while my tuition is free, my rent is not, and i am here
collecting debt and art, and reading this
http://digitallibrary.usc.edu/search/controller/view/usctheses-m220.html
if brian bartelt sticks around LACC you should really take his class. no
matter what your major or interest, we are all humans. it is quite stunning.
and the field so profound.
while some professors could dull something to the excitement level of a
dripping faucet, some have a gift for enthusiasm.
so i don't really despise LACC at all.
i just am trying to avoid bad energy, even including classroom bad energy.
the miracles of abstract thought and language are themselves magnificent.
but that is no excuse for sloppiness, sexism, and racism. especially tax-
funded.
but i think it is important to note that we are going to these old systems for
old information, given in old formats.
so when they hand you a floppy disk, just say thank you and throw it over
your shoulder into the infinities of ewaste.
when and if i leave, i will bask in the joys of tuitioned classes, or new loans,
inconceivable loans. i pray, i hope edu can go on for ever. but i will have
itunes U and books, and text to speech, and the wisdom of anyone, anywhere.
and that proff so and so brings a sexist tone etc, is just another drop in the
bucket of the sorrows of american misogyny.
i am so sorry to exist, and i do not prefer to be around hater-people. i think
its lousy they can get paid to spread their hate ideologies. my internet
lectures at good schools, are completely compelling and academic.
professional.

but the human experience, and the joy of speaking in class, questioning, and
the joy of anticipation for class, that is really priceless.
as though there were nothing more we wanted than to be respected in our
minds, to be treated as intellects, separate from the wageslave atmosphere of
so many dead-end jobs.
LACC stop protecting abuse, stop paying settlements for incompetent admin,
recognize the humanity of us . . . and stop protecting abuse.
hope its a great spring break everybody

pam cash! i think you are always right! i think i am going to move to oregon to participate in this
phenomenon. take some enviro policy and try to get into enviro law if i can figure out how to
finance it. if you have a scholarship foundation anytime soon, please help! so if i can't live my
facetious edu dreams, then i will become one of those eco-hippie types, full time. but what is
messed up about LA most of all is the air. i can feel it destroying my body, the lack of oxygen and
rain. the smog takes 20 points off my IQ which fortunately i can spare, but really sometimes i
want them back.
i think my smog adaptiveness fails me because i grew up around oxygen. my smog gills are just
weak. they didn't learn how to convert thick carbon monoxide and airborne particulate into
powerful ideas like, pop culture. i am stuck. my brain is hungry. i have to go.
even if oregon is a bunch of arm-chair activists and overeducated broke hippies, i really can't
sacrifice my health much longer for life in this creepy town full of backward city planning, anti-
recycling ethos, foul water, foul air, and narcissistic luddites. if you have any ideas feel free to
write me. my anthro teacher set us up for this fun 8 week series at LACC sustainability with
giovanna imbesi. of course she has copyright password protected her little workbook, because
you dont want too many people to catch on, you know, it is important to keep it secret and elite
and ego-based!!! but overall it is a rad class and i can't wait to present. and of course you know,
LACC is not neo-richhippy melananin deficient trustafarian, by any means. we are talking a rad
earth week, community garden etc.
of course admin is oblivious about discrimination and earth-hating policies.
they are so one-foot-in-the-grave boomer apathetic about everything, except their stupid
paychecks.

i think you are profound. what i want to know is that if that organic food is soaked in acid rain &
airborne carcinogens, and irrigated with petrochemical, pharmaceutical laced water . . . how
organic is it?
and hey greenwash is what they call this magic wand eco-narcissism that is self-deceptive.
or in law there is a whole new wave of litigation contra the grand greenwash deception, which
uses green brand identity to trick well meaning consumers.
fiji and windex are among the sued . . . that's kind of cool isn't it . . .
in response to amazing
pam cash's

http://pamcash.livejournal.com/909968.html:

"I got an email from a place called Common Circle Education in Berkeley, Ca about a
class they devised called Urban Permaculture Design.

This excited me greatly. It'd been what I'd been clamboring for in my head. I envisioned
Downtown having gorgeous rooftop gardens, solar panels, local economies that could
increase the standard of living for a lot of my neighbors and peers. Local production,
local commerce, all within our deliciously dense jungle. What I found on the site looked
extremely disappointing. Not only did it look like the word "Urban" was only thrown in
the title to make it sound cool (I didn't see one photo of an even slightly urban
situation!), but it went on to talk about green building, etc...

now, I'm no architect, nor am I a surveyor, nor am I an environmental analyst, but I'm
pretty sure that tearing down the old buildings here and building a nice new Woodsy
lookin' palace for rich white people would use MORE RESOURCES than occupying an
old one and restoring it and maybe even convert it to using nice Sun-energy.

They talk about how exciting it will be to learn about using cool natural irrigation
systems. I know I'm excited to gather and harvest the one week of rain we get here in
SoCal. Conveniently, the classes are in NorCal or Oregan where nobody has to worry
about such bothersome dryness. Maybe they would tell us all to move out to their
suburban havens, which surely wouldn't be havens anymore once they became dense
and other non-agricultural economies moved in.

The thing is I WANT to do this permaculture stuff, I want to live sustainably and I want to
create awesome communities. But can the solution be that you're either A) an agrarian,
or B) a magically rich person in some undisclosed location who buys the stuff but
doesn't really factor into the big picture? My guess is that they have their heads so far
up their idealistic asses that they have disdain for any city dweller, especially us vile
and perverted Angelinos. I watched their little video. "People live in cities... they're out
of touch with nature." The same could be said with them and the reality of what is
actually happening in the world and the type of change we really need.

So I wrote a letter. I copied it to paste here but then uncopied it to copy the link so now
it's gone. It was through their site, not my gmail, so I can't go back and get it. Lost. But it
basically talks about that, and about how people who are privileged enough to afford
their class have a responsibility (in my opinion) to make it useful to people in lower
socio-economic classes. For example, if I learn how to be an organic farmer and run
away to live on a little commune, I help the world by making them food, but I run away
from the huge problem of all the homeless people in LA, and all the other myriad
problems here. We need solutions for our communities, not solutions that involve
running off to a modern hut in Hawaii. I don't want to save the world by living in a fringe
dream where I can ignore the huge problems that matter to all kinds of people, not just
neo hippy people.

So they haven't written back, but I've received an automated response encouraging me
to be their facebook friend.

I'm not just trying to pick on them. I want them to offer a class that can be useful to me,
not a judgemental bullshit class about yoga in a forest. I want to be a part of the
solution. Maybe a big part! But I also want to listen to metal shows on the weekends,
wear fancy clothes and have martinis, go to perverted clubs and dance to really loud
music, and make out with strangers. Unless you, the reader, are my parents, in which
case I'd like to stay home and read books during my free time.

I'd encourage the HUGE readership of my blog to t ake a look at the site and tell me your
opinion.
You can also check out the youtube video that infuriated me.
Conclusion: I want to help the world too. I just want to do it in a city. Because I think
rural living is crap, and wastes a lotmore energy than it thinks it wastes. I don't want to

the case fink recommends, i realize i am familiar with.

yes, yes.

my educator brainiac friend/consultant dan diamond helped me look up all

these
people
http://laccd.edu/contact_us/
who because of having goofy old school web design won't properly publish
the emails for making a report. so i'll have to call first.

and he recommended too http://www.splc.org/ who so far have failed to

write me back.
fun, fun!
excited about making an equality coalition that is specifically anti-racist,
anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, and anti-islamaphobic.

so honored to be getting the attention of los angeles's pre-eminent sexual
harassment litigator.
he is sending me legal homework. i love it!!!!! i want to intern with him. he
sued dov charney for workplace harassment. lol.

email response this morning re the sexual harassment legal theory of the
future and the sexist version of Jim Crow, where we are told it's equal and
supposed to believe it, but it is clearly not.

dear fink!!!! (sent 3-24-10 7 am)

"thanks so nice to hear from you

thanks for the homework.

my particular interp i realize would allow for true and

real equality and abandonment of all epithet and
degrading terms.
i realize that is counterculture and might be difficult
to litigate.

what inspired me to contact you too was this recent

http://jonathanturley.org/2009/02/15/los-angeles-city-
college-sues-over-christian-based-presentation-in-
speech-class/
which just settled.

the kid who made the homophobic speech is getting paid

for being called a "bastard," which to me is a pretty
meaningless old word.

but the fact that the admin is probably ignoring the CA

AB 1825

BASIC PROVISIONS OF CALIFORNIA'S AB 1825

Two Hours of Training Every Two Years
The deadline for the first round of AB 1825 training was December 31, 2005. Thereafter,
employers must provide two hours of sexual harassment training to each supervisory
employee, every two years.
is GNARLY TO ME.

if i have to go to class and hear whore, slut, n*****,

hooker, i really do not find this fair and equal. how
much more hostile could the atmosphere get????

an educational fair use argument only goes so far if

coupled with sloppy academic standards and specific
targeted ridicule of the black women in the class.

whether or not it is worth your time, or abides by this

PC/antiPC free speech/hate speech grey zone, to me is
unimportant compared to the larger issue at play
involving school admin's failure to safeguard against
suit.

even if the courts ruled in LACC's favor, the legal

expense and waste of resource could easily be prevented
by having educated, careful, and sensitive education of
professors.

this is fiscal irresponsibility.

this walking into a danger zone of potential litigation,

which is happening in many departments, to me shows lack
of administrative oversight.

whether the alleged discrimination is provable to a

sexist court by sexist white CEDAW-rejecting misogynist
america, is less critical than the fact that, admin is
failing the taxpayer by paying huge claims for clearly
preventable dangerous speech situations, where
professors act totally oblivious to any concern for
legal repercussions.

the irony of this happening in the paralegal department

does not escape me, but these aren't the sharpest knives
in the drawer here.

i will read the san bern case and have already read a
lot on the issue, with similar effect as you describe.
quite aware.
my quest for litigatory activism is defiant of the norms
which sanction this constant belligerent atmospheric
attack on women and their integrity in the workplace and
school.

to me, this is similar to the sexist version of Jim

Crow.
where everyone is trying to tell me how equal it is for
me to shut up and get called a slut, whore, hooker, etc.

the fact of the matter too is that i grew up in the

luxury of a far more educated atmosphere than this.
i find this jerry springer style approach to teaching an
academic failure most of all, regardless of the
litigability of the offensive speech.

i am looking forward to extracting more stories from

other students.
the doormat culture is pervasive, but the discomfort is
high.

these poor kids need a liberation from LACC's

pathetically low standards.

i appreciate your support so much fink.

i really also appreciate the gravity of dov charney's
propaganda exploits against you, and admire the fact
that you would risk the repercussions of suing the
goebbels of trashy ad campaigns.
that he so effectively has tried to defame you, bespeaks
highly of his propaganda skills, his lack of dignity,
and hatred of women.
thanks for being there to take hits, on our behalf.
i have more emails too i may forward.
i will try to dig thru them for relevant stuff.
i find it tedious how losery the school is.
blogging
mary eng
p.s. may forward to other specific people in the
district.

From: Keith Fink

I will have to study these e-mails. However you should read Cohen v. San Bernadino. Merely because a
Professor says something non PC (even something some perceive as sexist or racist) doesn't mean he
has violated Title IX or Title VI. You need to focus on the specific statements and the context they were
made.

okay so you probably know that my school, los angeles city college, loves to
get sued.
http://jonathanturley.org/2009/02/15/los-angeles-city-college-sues-over-
christian-based-presentation-in-speech-class/
whether it is hate speech or free speech, they like to make it easy to sue them.

that's great for lawyers, but not for taxpayers.

cheers!
http://www.elt-inc.com/our-solutions/harassment/california-sexual-
harassment-training-law-ab-1825-and-elt-solutions/

are they compliant with CA AB 1825?

BASIC PROVISIONS OF CALIFORNIA'S AB 1825
Two Hours of Training Every Two Years
The deadline for the first round of AB 1825 training was December 31, 2005.
Thereafter, employers must provide two hours of sexual harassment training
to each supervisory employee, every two years.
if they were i bet none of this nonsense would be happening.

and furthermore calling the vociferous homophobe a "bastard" or whatever

would not have occurred.
maybe we should tell them about the internet.
thesauri.
but really, it might be better to get that laminated business 101 at borders
books for the admin peeps.
keep it simple.
or send them a link.
or when they lose in court maybe they can go here for third party post
litigation ethics oversight.
http://www.ethicspoint.com/
that was in my west's business law book.
i called and plan to tour their operation next time i'm in oregon.
they are helping lots of companies through the post-class action litigation.
that treads a bit on labor law territory.
check out my new blog, http://laborlawfornonlawyers.blogspot.com/

prevention is the cure.

ahhh!!!!!
they deserve a seven dollar ethics lesson, after all the entertainment!

or maybe they should read this

http://volokh.com/posts/1247685307.shtml

or all the awful things on ratemyprofessors.com about sexism in the paralegal

department. i was glad to know it wasn't just me.

observing incompetent admin is a spectator sport.

another thing i wanted to understand was that how harassment law for the
workplace and in schools coalesce. as the schools have federal laws to follow,
and the state labor law i know pretty well, and then hey, what about
respondeat superior ? that means the bosses are responsible for the
mistakes of the workers. hmmmm.

the poor collegian acts like printed media matters. cute, isn't it?
i heard they are mad about censorship from the president.

regarding passman's equivocal, oh there was such worse discrimination in

her day theory: just because you lived through the sixties doesn't make mega-
creepiness okay.
she is failing us all.
now a lot of professors have been included in my spam-power.
now its time to blog it write the splc and the collegian.

roll call
social sciences
sociology
gym
paralegal
speech class

how many more islamic students have been told they don't belong here
because of the way they dress?
that story was straight from christy passman's mouth.
it's not funny.

who has walked out of class because of professor harassment?

who has suffered anxiety because of unfair treatment in class?

who is sick of laziness or just plain inanity?

who was in the class where the professor constantly makes masturbation
references?

or prostitution references?

why do people tell me stuff like this? it bothers me.

i turned my head and said, "did he really just say that?"

prof:
"if told her that she's a sl*t & by walking the streets could make more money
than by becoming a paralegal.
is this defamatory?" chortle.
not kidding.

who has been ridiculed as mexican, sl*t, wh*re, the n--- word an okay class
room iteration, i am not kidding, with professors who speak about prostitutes
and "hookers" excessively, who say stupid woman, dumb woman,
cheesecake . . .
who obviously aren't up-to-date on international law or human trafficking
issues either . . .

if we are at LACC, we are too poor to be wasting our time.

and you know what? i am more liberal than you'd ever imagine.
private lives are private.
but when the class content is destroyed by verbal excesses from professors
with no super-ego supervision or sense of modernity . . . respect, or respect to
the school and taxpayer . . .
we all suffer.

if i wanted to be around trashtalk pop culture i would buy a TV.

sweetman (legal department head) and passman said, ahhh, they were just
trying to be funny!

i told them this is not a stand-up comedy club.

it's a school.
and as michael richards proved, there are limits to the acceptable, even at a
comedy club.

but its becoming clear to me that admin are the biggest comedians at the
club.

some kinds of language have no place anywhere, especially in a diverse

school with people from all over the world.
if this were the all white male skull and bones university frat club in 1910, i
think all the racism and sexism might be a little more culturally appropriate.

but hello!!!!!!
it's the future!
"it's the future, get down!" as intone my favorite political rappers Das Racist.
on youtube you can watch them talk about being inspired by the kid who
called out about some deranged racist ideologue on TV, "that's racist!" where
normally the conditioned adult response would be to politely say, "that's
offensive."
but that they are tired of watering it down.
why dilute it?
its racist, sexist, whatever, why not just say it?!
http://www.myspace.com/dasracist
as for the professors, i just thought they were trying to get fired . . .
retired . . .
i don't blame them . . .
i'm sorry they didn't get retired so they can relax a little, and watch more TV
and drink more scotch . . .
i'm sorry they still think they should be teaching.
and some of them are doing better, now that i complained.

but thanks to christy passman . . .

they are still paid staff . . .
and i know good teachers out of work . . .
thanks to student complicity

people come tell me stuff. why? why don't they complain to everybody like i
did?
or maybe they complain like i did, and are treated dismissively like i was.
that's scary.

of course they all did nothing. admin. sacramento. the feds.

jamillah moore, sweetman, the nice dean who looked rather shocked at me
being assigned to write a paper defending topless dancing as free speech for
the prostitute-obsessed, and extra creepy, creep.

christie said take it to ASO.

like i should do her job for her, for free.
right.
because she has no guts or relevance.

CEDAW.
read about it.
what other departments allow incompetence so extreme it just has lawsuit
written all over in flashing neon?

this is fraud to the taxpayers.

and professors write to tell me they don't have time for unimportant things
like equality.

or saying i don't get why you care, usually people only care when they have
something at stake.
like money?
like dignity?
like community?
like respect?
like equality?
like professionalism?
like education?

if you are a taxpayer, i hope you are happy to know you fund discrimination
at LACC.
like the UCLA taser case, we need to get the lawyer's guild on this.

to personally contextualize this argument, it might be important to let you

know a little about my background so you can discredit me.
#1 female---just kidding!
normally i like to keep art and life separate.
but what is very significant to me is the extreme degree of respect my father
showed me my entire childhood.
he never spoke crassly of women.
he was a champion of civil rights in the fifties and sixties, even into the
oughts when he helped get the first black musician, deford bailey, inducted
into the racist country music hall of fame.
he helped single mothers get education and jobs and houses in the war on
poverty social programs that got slashed to pieces by reaganomics.
he changed strangers' busted tires.
he really liked oprah winfrey.
i remember the first time i tried to understand the word rape as i saw it
published in the newspaper when was about eight.
and then reading about the childhood rape oprah made public in her
autobiography.
my dad had feminism in his library and emily dickinson was one of his
biggest heroes.
emily bronte, too.
he was traumatized by the vietnam massacres and by his fears of his father's
CIA job.
i remember how he taught me the protocol for assassination, through
dissolution of identity, and microtasking of orders, and a complicated chain
of command, so that nobody knows really who anybody is and who killed
whom.
it bugged him.
he had so much compassion . . .
he was smart enough to evade the killing scene . . .
he was addicted to caffeine tablets and told us when he took too much.
his brain is fried now cold silent.
he might have got secretly dosed acid back in the sixties at a party.
he saw connections where no one else did. it was the most magnificent thing
about his mind.

my mother told me she decided to move to the integrated neighborhood in

nashville tennessee because she didn't want me to grow up racist like some of
my delusional relatives in oregon.
the little kids from racist families in my neighborhood were forbidden to play
with me and michael because we played with marcel and danjele.
that was weird when my mom had to explain racism.
of course it makes no sense to kids.

i saw racist police brutality at age seven, and in 2007 at macarthur park.
hey taxpayer, you just got billed a huge settlements to the victims of the
LAPD macarthur park brutality extravaganza.
cheers!
my mother kicked a KKK wizard out of her veteran's administration
emergency room, because she's tough like that.
there is a rumor that my grandmother was an honorary black panther. both
my grandmothers helped immigrants with literacy and activism.

then in 2005, my amazing brother gabriel eng, threw a big africa art, music,
and sustainability festival.
the young black panthers spoke.
the most valuable thing i remember were the words, "renounce your white
skin privilege."

it is still sinking in.

renounce your white male heterosexist privilege.
renounce it all.
do not accept the benefits which are given to you by accident.
protest heterosexist marriage/civil unions.
protest sexist churches
protest homophobic churches.
protest and renounce this.

so to get back to my story----i was a reader. i read everything. really. darwin,

tolstoy, everything, almost.
now i like to skim around in 1000 page law books, and i love the big old
internet!!!!
i read all the old school feminism, women novelists, virginia woolf, jeanette
winterson, julia kristeva, hannah arendt, luce irigaray, anna akmatova, djuna
barnes, anais nin, kate chopin, plath, sexton, sappho, edna st. vincent millay,
austen, the brontes.
i was quite delighted to find my father discussing sappho and mystical lesbos
in an essay previewed on google books.
it was dawning on me how lucky i was to grow up under his tutelage.
his old quaker fiance taught him about peace. he was a sensitive guy, a
nouveau romantic poet. the sensitive scorpio, to my mother's determined
takecharge capricorn, forget gender norms.
my dad was an atheist with a huge collection of occult books, satanism,
anarchism, witchcraft, possessions, feminism, politics, literature, history . . .
my mother is very catholic, in the progressive catholic worker sense, the
mother theresa sense.
she paid other people's rent, bought them food. we put up homeless families
and handicapped parishoners in our home.
father strobel, our priest was like an uncle. he put the homeless first, defying
the church.
his mother, mary catherine, was stabbed to death on the way to the soup
kitchen with a sack of potatoes.
not kidding.
she looked pale in a baby blue dress in her coffin.
a little boy was lynched two miles from my family home. i was eight or so. he
was seven. he had the wrong color.
my mother told me about eating in the segregated colored restaurant because
she couldn't stand to be around all the racists. and how they looked at her
funny.
she worked for the blind and deaf in detroit.
she sent me some edith stein.
my favorite professor wayback had to sue my creepy old alma mater for
discriminatory tenuring etc.
i'm so proud of her.
http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cgi-bin/getcase.pl?
court=6th&navby=case&no=99a0243p

equality at school is just one of my pet causes.

i have way too much passion to go around, since my will to live came back.

i'm going to LACC because i dropped out of my big fancy scholarship

education around a bunch of conceited rich kids, because they got on my
nerves, as did a few of the professors. plus i was generally starving myself for
lack of money for food or clothes.

then when the stupid CIA money came it all went to enron, make no mistake.
i was hoping to tell grand-dad i needed to get back to school, because i was
too smart to deal with all the stupid stuff in real life.
instead though, he died, and i got left out.
that's not too important.
but now that i've finally made it back to school, after hanging out in the
extremes of impovrished america to faux-ivy league with fullbright scholars
etc. i really got to say that my standards are high because i allow them to be.

so i sent out mad letters two days ago.

i'm laughing out loud.
i cc'ed all the offending proff's in and gave them an invite to mail me a
written legal defense of their creepy harassing behavior, and or an apology.
isn't that funny?????
who would do that?

so basically i want to start an equality coalition.

and meet and discuss the international and local issues regarding equality.
i already want to ask all my friends who told me about their bad experiences.
then we can make a compendium of incidents and publish it here and give it
to the collegian and the FIRE group and to passman and all the deans and
leader people.
and make sure we don't forget disability educational access equality too.
because the students with disabilities are being hurt really bad by the budget
cuts, and by lack of tech and resources and tutors.

so if anybody reads this thanks and be in touch.

maryeng1@yahoo.com
and hey, if yr a good writer maybe you can help translate all this.
don't blame me for my chattery style.
linearity is my nemesis.
it gives me panic attacks.
i read a lot of surrealism, breton, the poets, dadaism, ezra pound, antonin
artaud, bataille, james joyce, pynchon, etc.
i love chaos
so don't tell me to start making sense, or speak english, or punctuate, or
speak in sentences.
this is just a blog.
grammar can destroy impact of force and waste time.

old letter:
flash back to two days ago (and a year ago when this stupid story started---
maybe i'll repub the old emails too---or yelp them---e-evidence them out into
the cosmos and collective BSometer consciousness or Yelp them and make
LACC pay to remove them from top search query, i love YELP's monetization
of internet libel extortion scheme---its brilliant!!!! oh yeah but they're being
sued too . . .)
i wrote
to the LACC ombudsman for discrimination,
you know who,

i deeply apologize for differing in opinion re:the handling of the "sl*t" case
(encompassing a whole series of incidents)
while not quid pro quo
it was rather atmospheric

i maintain my allegation that language has a permanent lasting effect on the

recipients (or eligible parties) who are thus designated

and therefore are subject to unequal treatment

in contradiction to my interp of fed & state law and handbook rules

it was not in any way to disparage your job, that i semi-publicly draw
attention to this scandal, but for the good of all.

i am glad the outcome with anonymous student turned out well in your
estimation. thanks for the update.

i don't feel okay about it though.

i spoke to her and find it dissatisfactory that she must retake the class with
the verbally offensive sexistly and particularly seemingly racially
discriminatory professor as well, based on what i know of the case.

who has the burden of proof here?

i saw what went on.
i think she should have her grade restored due to the disabling effects of
anxiety that might affect any student receiving double hostilities verbally.

what else would define hostile atmosphere?

also, i do not want to alienate your support of the new videostreaming

technologies platforms that will make the digitization of classes affordable for
future ADA access rights expansion.

there is a meeting at 3pm tuesday with bartelt matranga flores eckford and
perhaps kendis
any and all may email susan matranga for more info.
supposedly the new dean supports.
http://laccalgebra.blogspot.com/
in demonstration with kendis

how would the brown act apply to the classroom?

and of course i do not want you to be alienated from the anthropology clubs
dreams of big fundraising for the africa trip.

i am at ASO and hope to find out more about ASO fundraising guidelines.

i also apologize for my impatience with ASO, because there is such a wealth
of human potential here.

re: the islamophobic comments which may or may not have been faculty
originating, but were (according to you) staff-originating. i did not seek to
misrepresent.
i find that the notion of best practices business management would have all
staff clearly documented as to harassment training.

you should have budget allocation for this.

please accept my apology. i respect you so much! i need your help too and
the wealth of your legal knowledge!

any help you can lend to fundraising or future equality of learning

atmosphere, would be greatly appreciated by myself, and others no doubt.

i am also open to accepting apologies in writing, or written legal defenses,

from the professors/staff who misspoke, played grossly inappropriate racist
and sexist film, and/or covered for them.

thanks and have a lovely weekend,
