9 ROOF COVERING
11.9.1 ROOF SHEETS
Use # 26 Corr. G.L sheets roofing
Sheets shall be laid with end laps as indicated on the drawings, the
minimum end lap
shall be .30 m and the minimum side lap shall be 21/2 corrugations wide. G.L sheet
shall be riveted to the purlin at
every alternate corrugation.
Straps shall be gauge 24 plain iron of local manufacturer with a spelter
coating of 1.25
per square foot. Straps shall be cut to 1 strips and
sufficiently long, with corners cliffed
off at the riveting ends. These
shall be bent around the purlin and riveted to the sheets.
Straps
shall be punched at correct distances to fit the size of the rivets holes and
allow
for bending around the required size of purlins. One strap shall
be placed at each
alternate corrugation at the gutter line. The lower
end of each sheet shall be riveted to
the sheet beneath through the
top of every fourth corrugation such rivets to alternate
with the
rivets engaging the straps. All rivets shall be placed on top of corrugation to
prevent the water standing around the rivets.
Riveting shall be
done with soft
galvanized iron washer above the sheet.
Rivets shall be
sufficiently long to permit a
hemispherical
head.
11.9.2

RIDGES, VALLETS AND HIPS

For all ridges, valleys and hips, provide ridge rolls and valley rolls of
gauge 24 plain
galvanized iron sheets, of local manufacturer and
with a spelter coating of 1.25 ounces
of zinc per square foot. All joints
shall be applied with silvereaf roof coating (Pace
International).
Ridges rolls shall lap at least .30 m over the roofing sheets. The ridge
rolls shall be riveted to the roofing sheets at every fourth corrugation,
alternating with the rivets engaging straps.
Hip rolls shall lap at least .30 m. over the roofing sheets. The hip rolls
shall be riveted to the roofing sheets at every alternate corrugations.

11.9.3

GUTTER AND DOWNSPOUTS

For all gutters use PVC downspout 4 diameter.
Gutters shall be shaped to dimensions indicated in the drawings,
connected with seam joints which shall be neatly soldered to produce a
water tight connections and installed with pitch of 1/8 per foot to the
conductors. Unless otherwise indicated in the drawings, conductors
and downspouts shall not be smaller than 4 diameter PVC pipe embed

in the columns. For every conductor inlet, set complete one (1)
standard wire basket strainer using gauge 16 wire.

11.9.4 FLASHINGS
The intersection of all roofs with vertical walls shall be flashed with
plain galvanized iron sheets, gauge 26, not less than 8 high and all
connections shall be made water tight.
For corrugated sheets whose corrugations runs parallel to the walls,
one wing of the flashing sheets shall be corrugated to match the
corrugations of the roofing sheets and shall be wide enough to cover at
least 3 corrugations.

SECTION NO. 12 STEEL LADDERS

(Rat Proofing and Fire Escape)
12.1 Work included- furnish all labor, materials, equipment and other facilities for
the satisfactory
performance of all work necessary to complete the steel ladder
and fire escape ladder.
12.2

Materials
All structural steel shapes and plates shall conform to ASTM A-36 steel
and shall have a minimum thickness of 3/16 (4.762 MM.)
Light-gauge Cold-formed structural steel shall conform to pertinent
specifications of the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Welding electrodes shall conform to AS.1 or AS.5 E70 xx electrodes.
3/4 diameter Deformed Round Bar shall be used for fire escape
ladder.
Bolts and nuts for main members shall be high strength bolts
conforming to ASTM A-325. Bolt shall mark or identification that it is
such a kind of bolt. For secondary members ASTM A 307 bolts may be
used. Care shall be taken so that, different types of bolts do not get
interchanged. All bolts shall be provided with plain washers.
Shop coat of paint shall be red lead primer.

12.3 FABRICATION
Field fabrication shall kept to a minimum and shop fabrication shall be
employed to the greatest possible with members shop fabricated as
long as practicable with a minimum requirement for fields connection.
Welding, shearing, gas cutting, chipping and all other works involved in
the fabrication of structural steel shall be done with accuracy and of

the highest quality of workmanship, within the allowable tolerance

prescribed in the AISC specifications.
12.4

QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES

Shall be practiced by the Fabricator to assume high quality in the work.
In addition to the fabricators quality control procedures, materials and
workmanship shall be subject to inspection by qualified inspectors
representing the NFA. Fabricator shall cooperate harmoniously with the
Inspector to avoid interruption in the work, when correction will be
needed.
SECTION NO. 13- PAINTING, VARNISHING & OTHER FINISHES

13.1

GENERAL
The manufacturers painting specifications for Boysen paints shall be
considered part of these specifications.

13.2

SCOPE OF WORK
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials and
services require to complete the entire painting work herein called for.
Painting work shall include the painting of all interior and exterior
masonry work, wood work, metal work, mill work, wallboards, etc. as
specified hereinafter and required thereto.

13.3 EQUIPMENT
The Contractor shall furnish all tools, brushes, spraying equipment,
tackles, scaffolding, ladders, pails, and other equipment required to
complete the entire painting work.
13.4 WORKMANSHIP
A.
All work shall be done by skilled painters in a workman-like
manner by being brushed or sprayed on the surfaces. All paints etc.,
shall be evenly applied so as
to be free from sags, runs, crawls, or
other defects. All coats shall be of
minimum of brush marks. All
brushes shall be clean and in a good condition,
heavy brushes are
preferred.
B.
Paint shall be thoroughly stirred so as to keep the pigment
evenly in suspension
when paint is being applied.
C.
No painting shall be done under conditions that are unsuitable
for the
production of good results. No oil painting shall be done in
damp water.
D.
All coats shall be thoroughly dry before the succeeding coat
applied. Allow at least twenty-four (24) hours between coats unless
otherwise specified by the
manufacturer.

E.
Painting coats are specified and intended to cover surfaces
perfectly; if surfaces
are not fully covered, further coats shall be
applied to attain the desired
evenness of the paint application.
F.
All parts of the moulding shall be left clean and true to details.
All findings shall be uniform as to sheen, color, and texture except
when glazing is required.
13.5 MATERIALS
A.
All paints and painting materials shall be those as manufactured
by Pacific Paint
& Oil Manufacturing Inc., makers of Boysen Paints.
B.
All paint materials shall be delivered at the site in their original
containers, with labels intact and seals unbroken.
C.
With the exception of ready-mixed materials in original
containers all mixing
shall be done at the jobsite. No materials are
to be reduced or changed except
as specified by the
manufacturer of said materials. The use of white zinc
(lithophones) will not be allowed.
D.
A place will be designated by the Architect for the storage of
paint materials and
tools. Whenever it may be necessary to
change the location of his storage
space, the contractor shall
promptly move to the newly designated place. The
storage
space floor shall be adequately protected from damage and from
paint.
Paint shall be kept covered at all time and safeguard to
prevent fire.
13.6 COLORS
All colors of paints and varnishes shall be submitted in accordance with color
scheme as approved by the NFA.
Samples of the color to be used shall be submitted and those approved shall
be strictly followed. No painting shall be started before these color schemes
are approved by the Architect.
13.7 PROTECTION
A. The contractor shall protect the work of all other trades against
damage or
injury by his employees, or by his materials, tools
or utensils used in connection with this Contract. Any damage done
by him or his employees shall be repaired at his own expense,
without any additional compensation beyond the contract
price.
B. The Contractor shall be held responsible for repairs to his own or
other work made necessary by the defective workmanship or
carelessness of other crafts.

C. Any under damage to any part or parts of the structure of

adjacent buildings
caused by the Contractor during the
execution of the work shall be made good by the Contractor at his
own expenses. All floors, other surfaces and equipment shall be
protected during the painting operations by a liberal use of painters
drop clothes.
13.8 CLEANING
A. Upon completion, the Contractor shall remove from the building
all materials
and debris created by him, and leave his part of the
work in a clean and finished
condition acceptable to the Owner.
Washing and polishing of the window glass,
and all other
glazing work shall be done by him.
B. Protect all electric plates, surface hardwares, etc. during the
painting
operations.
13.9 PREPARATIONS OF SURFACES
A. Before applying painters finish, all surfaces must be thoroughly
dry, clean, free from dust, grease and dirt and property prepared to
receive finish.
B. No painting shall be done at any time unless the surface to be
treated in thoroughly dry. The contractor shall inspect all surfaces to
be painted and shall
report all defects therein to the
Architect, before starting painting. The
Architects will cause
these defects to be remedied. The commencing of the work by the
contractor indicates his acceptance of the surfaces to be painted.
C. Wood surface shall be sand papered to a smooth, even surfaces,
duster.
Blemishes on surfaces to be varnished shall be corrected.
After primer stain
coat, all cracks and nail holes shall be filled
with putty. Putty used in stained
work shall match the stained
wood.
D. Brick, Stucco, and concrete surfaces shall be free from excess
mortar. Treat
surfaces with Boysen Masonry Neutralizer #44,
brushing surface free of loose crystals when dry. New plaster must
be allowed to dry thoroughly, usually
requiring at least thirty
(30) days before painting. Damaged places in walls must
be
repaired with plastic patch-deep holes with matching plaster.
E.
Galvanized metal surfaces, except where special treatment is
specified, shall be
thoroughly cleaned and treated with solfometallic coating of four (4) ounces of
copper sulphate mixed in
a gallon of water. These solutions shall remain on surfaces not less
than twelve (12) hours and then be dusted with stiff fiber
bristle
brush.

F.
Metal surfaces shall be cleaned free of mill scale, rust and
foreign matter by
scrapping, flame cleaning, and blasting or
wire brushing. Any grease shall be
removed with Napths. Loose
and scalling paint shall be scraped and wirebrushed to sound
metal surface.
13.10 BRICK AND STUCCO PAINT (Two (2) coats)
A. The requirements for preparation of surfaces shall be considered
a part of these
specifications.
B.

First Coat- Boysen Permacoat Concrete Sealer #705.

C. Second Coat- Boysen Permanent Latex Paint, flat, semi-gloss or

gloss whichever is desired.
13.11 Three (3) Coats
A. Follow above specifications for two-coat job.
B.

Third Coat- same as 13.10 C.

13.12 BOYSEN HOUSE PAINT (Two (2) coats)

A. The requirements for the preparation of surfaces for exterior
woodwork shall be
considered part of these specifications.
B. First Coat- Boysen # 302 Ext. Wood Primer full body or thinned
slightly with
Boysen Paint Thinner. Recoat in two (2) o four (4)
days.
C. Second Coat- Boysen Exterior House Paint (100%) in color
selected, applied full
body or thinned slightly with Boysen Paint
Thinner or Boysen Pure Pale Boiled Linseed Oil.
13.13 BOYSEN HOUSE PAINT (Three coats)
A. Follow specifications for Boysen House Paint for two coat job.
B. Third coat- Boysen Ext. House Paint (100%) to be applied in two
(2) to four (4)
days after second coat.
13.14 SEMI-LUSTRE PAINT (Three Coats)
A. The requirements for preparation of surfaces shall be considered
a part of these
specifications.
B. First Coat- on plaster, brick and wallboard; Boysen Permacoat
Concrete Sealer #70, applied full body, allow 24 hours drying.
On Unpainted Woodwork and Trim; Boysen #300 Interior Primer
& Sealer thinned with Boysen Paint Thinner. Allow to dry and sand
with No. 00
sandpaper.

C. Second Coat- Boysen Semi-gloss finish in selected color, full

applied full body.
D.

Third Coat- Boysen Semi-gloss finish in selected color, full body.

13.15 SEMI-LUSTRE (Two Coats)

A. The requirements for preparation of surfaces shall be considered
a part of these
specifications.
B.
First Coat- Boysen Interior Primer & Sealer, applied full body,
tinted to approximate color of finish coat with Boysen tinting
colors. Allow to dry for 24
hours. Before applying coat, examine
work carefully for flat spots resulting from incomplete sealing and to
all such areas apply another coat of Boysen Int. Primer & Sealer,
allowing at least 24 hours before proceeding with second coat.
13.16 FLAT TONE PAINT (Two coats)
A. The requirements for preparation of surfaces shall be considered
a part of these
specifications.
B. First Coat- Boysen Primer & Sealer applied full body. Tint to
approximate color
of finish coat with Boysen colors. Allow to dry
for 24 hours. Before applying second coat, example work carefully
for flatspots resulting from incomplete
sealing and to all such
areas apply another coat before proceeding with second
coat.
C. Second Coat- Boysen Flatwall Enamel color selected, applied full
body.
D.

For three-coat jobs, third coat will be the same as second coat.

Second Coat- Boysen Plasolux Auto Enamel by brush or

13.21 G.I. ROOFING, GUTTERS, &

The requirements for preparation of surfaces shall be
considered a part
of these specifications.

First Coat- Boysen Portland Cement Paint or Acrylic Latex
Base Roof
Paint.

C.

Second Coat- Same as first coat.

13.22 SCHEDULE OF FINISHES- Finishes for the different portions of the work shall
be
specifically indicated in the Schedules of Specifications.
SECTION NO. 14- ELECTRICAL WORK
14.1 GENERAL SPECIFICATION
Work covered by this specification shall include furnishing all labor, materials,
equipment and services required to construct and install the complete
electrical system shown on accompanying plans and specified herein. All
work shall be in accordance with the governing codes and regulations and
with the specifications, except share same shall conflict with such codes, etc.
in which case letter shall then govern.
14.2 WORK INCLUDED
Under this section of the Specifications, the Contractor shall provide all
materials and equipment and perform all the work necessary for the
complete execution of all the Electrical work as shown on the Electrical
Drawings as herein specified; except s otherwise excluded, and which without
excluding the generality of the foregoing, shall include but not be limited to
the following principal items of work.
a.
A complete wiring for the exteriors and interiors lighting
and power
system, including all feeders, branch
circuit and connections to all
lighting and power
outlets, motors and appliances.
b.
A complete equipment and wiring system for the interior
fire alarm
system.
c.

All general lighting fixtures and lamps.

d.
A wiring for the telephone system, as specified herein
after and shown
on the drawings.
e.

Complete testing of all electrical system.

f.

Grounding testing of equipment.

g.

Optional items of work.

h.

Painting of electrical work and equipment.

i.
If anything has been omitted in any items of work on
materials usually
furnished, which are necessary
for the completion of all Electrical works
as
outlined herein before, then such must be and are hereby
included in this Section of the work.

14.3 WORK NOT INCLUDED

The following principal items will be supplied and installed by
others.
a.
Air-conditioning units, but wiring will be done by the
electrical
contractor.
b.
Telephone equipment and devices will be furnished and
installed by
technical telephone company. Wiring,
conduit pipes and miscellaneous
items shall be done
by the electrical contractor.
14.4 CODES, REGULATIONS AND ORDINANCES
The electrical items under this contract is to be installed according to the
requirements of the latest Philippine Electrical Code, rules and regulations of
the Authority concerned and the requirements of the Power Company.
Nothing contained in this specifications or shown on the drawings shall be
construed as to conflict with the National and Local Ordinances or Laws
governing the installation of electrical work, and all laws and ordinances are
hereby made part of these specifications. The contractor is required to meet
the requirements thereof.
14.5 PLANS AND DRAWINGS
The Contract Drawings, which constitutes an integral part of this contract,
shall serve as working drawings. They indicate the general layout of the
complete electrical system and show arrangements of feeders, circuits,
outlets, switches, controls, panelboards, service equipments, fixtures and
other works.
The electrical contractor shall check architectural, structural and plumbing
plans to avoid possible installations conflicts. Should drastic changes from
original plans be necessary to resolve such conflicts the contractor shall
notify the Contracting Officer and shall secure from him written approval and
agreement concerning necessary changes and adjustments before altered
installation work is started.
14.6 SAMPLES AN DRAWINGS
14.6.1The Contractor shall submit to the contracting officer for approval
samples of conduit, wire wiring devices, finished plates and of any item
as may be requested by the Contracting Officer.
14.6.2Prepare and submit for approval shop drawings or catalogues of
equipments appliances and fixtures.
14.7 MINOR MODIFICATIONS
The plans as drawn are based upon architectural plans and details and show
conditions as accurately as is possible to indicate then in scale. The plans are
diagrammatical and do not necessarily show all fittings, etc. necessary to fit
the conditions. The locations of lighting fixtures convenience outlets, airconditioning outlets and switches shown on the plans are approximate. The

Contractor shall be responsible for the proper location in order to make them
fit with architectural details.
14.8 GUARANTEES
14.8.1The Contractor shall guarantee that the electrical system are free from
all grounds and from all defective workmanship and materials and will
remain so for a period of one (1) year from date of acceptance of the
work. Any defects. Appearing within the aforesaid period, shall be
remedied by the Contractor at his on expenses.
14.8.2The Contractor shall indemnify and save harmless the NFA and his duly
authorized representative from and against all liability for damages
arising from injuries or disabilities to persons or damage to property
occasioned by any act or omission of the Contractor, including any and
all expenses, legal or otherwise, which may be incurred by the NFA in the
defense of any claim, action or suit.
14.9 APPROVALS, SUBSTITUTIONS, ETC.
Whenever hereinafter the words for approval, or approved (make, type,
size, arrangement, etc.) are used especially in regard to manufactured
specialties, etc., or wherever it is desired to substitute a different make or
type of materials for that specified, all information pertinent to the adequacy
and adaptability of the proposed materials, shall be submitted to the
Contracting Officer and his approval secured before the apparatus is ordered
or installed.
14.10 WORKMANSHIP
A.
The work throughout shall be executed in the best and
most through
manner under the direction of and to the
satisfaction of the Contracting Officer and shall have the power
to reject any works and materials
which, in his judgement,
are not in full accordance therewith.
B.
The Contractor shall have on file, for ready access and
reference or set of drawings indicating all works as actually
installed, incorporating in
same all changes and additions.
And upon the termination of the
Contract he shall prepare
a set of tracing indicating thereon the
Electrical Work as
actually and finally installed. These tracing shall be
turned over to the Contracting Officer.
14.11 STANDARDS OF MATERIALS
14.11.1
All materials shall be new and shall conform with the standards
specified in the Philippine Electrical Codes and others such as AIA,
IEEA, and NEMA, for every case where such a standard has been established
for the particular type of materials in question.
14.11.2
All materials on all systems shall comply with the following
specifications, unless specifically accepted, and all materials where not
specified shall be of the best of their respective kind.

14.11.3
Samples of all materials shall be submitted for approval as
required by Contracting Officer.
14.12 INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
14.12.1
APPROVAL OF MATERIALs
All electrical materials shall be new and shall meet the
requirements and shall bear the inspection label wherever
standards have been established.
14.12.2
GROUND TESTS
The entire installation shall be free from improper grounds and
short circuits.

14.12.3
PERFORMANCE TEST
It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to test all system of the
entire electrical installation for proper operational conditions. These
conditions shall apply to the power and lighting installations as well as
then fire alarm system and water pump.
14.12.4
CUTTING AND FITTING
Contractor shall do all cutting and fitting required for the installation
of the electrical items and coordinate with the work of other trades, in
accordance with the drawings and in a manner satisfactory to the
Contracting Officer.
14.12.5
INSERTS, ANCHORS, ETC.
Furnish to the proper trades all inserts, anchors or other required
items, which are t be built in by them for securing all hangers or other
supports of conduit and for anchorages for electrical equipments.
14.13 WIRE AND CABLE
14.13.1
All wire shall be copper, soft-drawn and annealed, shall be of
98% conductivity, shall be
smooth and fine and of a cylindrical form and
shall be within 1% of the actual size called
for.
14.13.2
All wire and cable shall comply with the requirements as to the
particular usage.
14.13.3 All wires and cables for lighting and power system shall be moisture
and heat resistant
rubber or thermoplastic insulate. It must be in
conformity with the Philippine Electrical
Code as used in damp or unit
location. Wires shall be stranded for sizes #8 AWG larger.
14.13.4 For lighting and powers system, no wire smaller than #12 AWG
shall be used.
14.13.5 All wire and cable shall be as manufactured by PHELPS DODGE.
14.14 PIPES
14.14.1Wiring shall be done in rigid steel conduit and PVC pipe, for steel
conduit, it shall be of
standard weight mild steel, hot galvanized or

sherardized, with an interior coating, and

than schedule 40.

for PVC pipe, it shall not less

14.14.2 No tubing shall be used in any system smaller than inch electric
trade size, nor shall
have more than four 90 degree bends in any one
run, and where necessary pull boxes shall be provided as directed.
14.14.3 No wire shall be pulled into any conduit until the conduit system in
complete in all
details and in the case of concealed work until all rough
plastering or masonry has been
completed in every detail.
14.14.4 The ends of all conduits shall be tightly plugged to exclude plaster,
dust and moisture
while the building is in the process of construction.
All conduit ends shall be reamed to
remove all burrs.
14.15 OUTLET BOXES AND FITTINGS
14.15.1 At all outlets of whatever kind for all system, there shall be
provided a suitable fitting,
which shall be either a box or other device
especially designed to receive the type of fittings to be mounted thereon.
14.15.2 The Contractor shall consult with the Contracting Officer as to
the nature of the various fittings to be used before installing his
outlet fittings, and shall conform strictly
in the use of fittings to the
nature of the appliance to be mounted on them, so that the
work, when
completed will be a finished design.
14.15.3 At all outlets on concealed conduit work, provide galvanized
pressed steel outlet boxes of standard make. These boxes shall be
especially designed for apparatus required.
14.16 JUNCTION AND PULL BOXES
Junction and pull boxes of cold steel shall be provided as indicated or as
required for facilitating and pulling of wires and cables. Pull boxes in finished
places shall be located and installed with the permission and to the
satisfaction of the contracting officer.
14.17 WALL SWITCHES
Wall Switches shall be rated at 15 amperes, 250 volts, one way or as
required. Switches shall be of quiet automatic action type, silver contact,
feather-touch operation, white. Switches shall be as manufactured by
Northern Islands Company with a brand of VETO Quietmatic Switch.
14.18 WALL RECEPTACLES
Receptacles outlet shall be for flush mounting duplex rated at 10 ampere,
250 volts T slot cocket-outlet, white. Receptacles shall be as manufactured
by Northern Island Company with a brand of VETO.
14.19 PLATES
All switch and receptacles plates shall be of bakelite white finish,
manufactured by Northern Island Company with a brand of Veto.
14.20 CEILING RECEPTACLES

Ceiling receptacles shall be of porcelain white finish, 3-inch in diameter.

14.21 PANELS AND CABINETS
14.21.1 All panels shall be of dead front construction, furnished with trims
for flush or surface
mounting as required. Cabinets shall be of code
gauge steel with gutters at least 4 inch
wide and wider if necessary. The
trim for all panels shall be finished in gray enamel over a rust inhibitor.
Manufacturers shop drawings shall be submitted to the Contracting
Officer for approval.
14.22 INDIVIDUAL BREAKER AND SWITCHES
14.22.1 Provide individual circuit breakers, safety switches and disconnect
switches as where
indicated. Voltage ratings shall be suitable in each
of service application.
14.22.2 Enclosure shall be General Purpose, Nema type, and shall most all
the requirement
and specification of the Philippine Electrical
Code.
14.22.3 Circuit breakers shall be capable of being closed and operated by
hand without
employing any other source of power.
14.22.4 Circuit breaker shall be Westinghouse/G.E.
1422.5 Safety and disconnected switches shall be fusible or non-fusible as
required end of
sizes as indicated on plans.
14.23 DISCONNECTING MEANS
14.23.1 Disconnecting means shall be provided as indicated on the
drawings at each motor location.
14.23.2 Circuit breakers shall be enclosed in suitable metal housing of
type required by
location.
14.23.3 Unfused safety switches shall be used where disconnecting means
only are required and current supply to same is protected by a circuit
breaker at the panel board, shall
be totally enclosed.
14.24 MOTOR CONNECTIONS, ETC.
14.24.1 Furnish all necessary connections and wiring between controllers
and motor in
conduit. The Contractor shall furnish and install
all supports, mounts, wire-up complete and connect all motor controller.
14.24.2 The Contractor shall be held responsible for the exact location
of the motor
controller and motor as far as wiring is
concerned.

14.25

LIGHTING SYSTEM

14.25.1 The lighting system shall be complete in every respect, all indicated
on the plan or
specified.
14.25.2 All work for the lighting system inside the ceiling shall be done
utilizing knob and
tube work and lighting circuits shall be
balanced at the panels.
14.25.3 Mounting heights of devices shall be as follows:
a)
Local Switches- 45
b)
Convenience Outlet- 12 above floor or above floor
or
above counters, or as directed
by the Contracting
Officer.
c)
A.C. Outlets- 6 below the concrete window sill.
14.25.4 Install all lighting fixtures and lamps s specified or at locations
shown in plans or as
directed by the Contracting Officer. Fluorescent
lamps shall be 48 inch 40 watts and 24 20 watt rapid start, type TL
standard cool white with minimum light output or 3,000
lumens. All
fluorescent ballast
shall be 230 volts, high power factor, rapid start as
manufactured by General Electric Philippines.
14.25.5 All fluorescent fixtures housing shall be that of manufactured by
AMCO.
14.25.6 All fluorescent lamp holders and starters shall be that with a brand
of Veto and G.E. respectively.
14.25.7 Submit samples of each fixture to the Contracting Officer for
approval, prior to
installation.
14.25.8 All metal fluorescent fixtures housing shall be porcelain enamel
finish.
14.25.9 All incandescent lamp rating shall be as indicated and as shown
on plans and shall be as manufactured by G.E. or Philips.
14.25.10 All pin lights shall be selected by NF Architect.
14.25.11 Floodlights which is for exterior use shall be installed at the top of
the canopy as
shown on the plans and mercury bulbs located at
the driveway area with rating of 160
watts shall be used.
14.26 SERVICE ENTRANCE EQUIPMENT
14.26.1 The Contractor shall furnish and install a 2-phase 4 wire, 230 volts
for the said
building with 2-2 inch conduit laid in parallel and installed
on a concrete post.
14.26.2 The electrical contractor shall furnish and install, where shown on
the plans, a 400
ampere, 230 volts, 3 pole fused switch as the

service disconnect. The main switch shall be as the service disconnect.

The main switch shall be as manufactured by EVER.
14.27 FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
a)
The Contractor shall furnish and install the
equipment and
wiring system for a noncoded fire alarm system.
b)
At each stairway, there shall be a non-coded fire
alarm station.
At each location where shown,
there shall be a bell. Operating
any station
shall cause all sounding device to operate
continuously until the fire alarm station has been
restored to
normal.
c)
Install where shown a surface, non-coded,
breakglass, manual
fire alarm station, with
hinged front door arranged for making
tests
without breaking glass and for easy replacement of the
glass when broken, general alarm bell shall
be 6-inch vibrating.
d)
The entire firm alarm installation shall meet the
require-of the
local codes and authorities
having jurisdiction and shall be as
manufactured by Simplex.
14.28 TELEPHONE SYSTEM
14.28.1 The telephone system shall consist of an exterior and interior
system of wires and cables, conduit, outlet, boxes, faceplates, junction
boxes, terminal strip cabinets,
etc. is shown on the plans ready to
receive the telephone equipment to be furnished
and installed by
others. The entire layout shall be installed as indicated on the drawings
in accordance with requirements. Any changes or additions required for
the proper
operation of the system shall be supplied without
additional cost to the NFA.
14.28.2 All wiring shall be run in rigid conduit. Cable shall be No. 22
AWG twisted triple PVC
jacketed with number of runs as shown on
the plans.
14.28.3 All conduits shall be grounded and bounded and provided as
required with insulated bushings where terminating I
panel cabinets.
14.28.4 Outlet boxes for telephone instruments shall be of the size and
type suit individual location.
14.28.5 Terminal cabinets shall be code gauge construction and provided
with snap catch and brass lock. All cabinets shall be keyed alike. Each

cabinets shall be provided with wood block board and required number of
terminal blocks.
14.28.6 Junction and pull boxes shall be of size and shape required for
easy pulling of telephone cables.

SECTION NO. 15- SITE DEVELOPMENT

SCOPE OF WORK
The work covered by this section shall include all labor, materials, plant,
equipment and other facilities for the satisfactory performance of all work
necessary to complete the construction of site development.
GENERAL
The specification for backfilling and excavation, concrete and masonry and
other related sections of technical specifications shall also be adapted in this
section.
SECTION NO. 16- LANDSCAPING
WORK INCLUDED
All labor, materials, garden soil, plants, trees and other facilities for the
satisfactory execution of the work covered by this section.
GENERAL
Plants, trees and other landscape materials and pieces shall be designed by
NFA Architect which would fit to the negotiated cost of construction.
SPECIAL PROVISIONS

1.0

START AND COMPLETION OF WORK

The Contractor shall start the work within ten (10) calendar days after the
specified date in the notice to proceed given to him by the NFA and he shall
complete the work within the agreed number of calendar days.

2.0

SUB-CONTRACTORS
The Contractor may submit other scope of work provided approval of the
NFA has been obtained.

3.0

CONSTRUCTION MEN IDENTIFICATION

The Contractor shall provide all his men working in the project with
identification cards at the project site that NFA may require.

4.0

ACCIDENTS
The Contractor shall provide, at the site, such medical facilities which are
necessary to supply first aide to anyone who may be injured in connection
with the work. The contractor must promptly report in writing to the NFA, all
accidents whatsoever arising out of, or in connection with the performance
of the work whether on, or adjacent to the site, which cause death, personal
injury, on property damages giving full details and statement of witnesses.

5.0

AS-BUILT DRAWING

At the completion of the work under this contract, the contractor shall
furnish the NFA two (2) complete set of reproducible copies (sepia prints) of
the shop and erection drawings of steel structures as finally approved and
actually installed. If no revisions subsequent to approval have been made,
the reproducible copies of approved drawings may be considered as part of
this set.
6.0

COST AND FIGURE DISCREPANCIES

In case of discrepancies between costs and total bid cost, the latter shall
govern. In case of error between unit cost and costs, the unit cost will
govern. In case of discrepancies between price in words and figures occurs,
the price in figures shall be considered as the bid.

7.0

BILLBOARDS
The Contractor shall, at his own expense supply and provide all the
necessary billboards and sign board as designed and required by NFA.
THREE PHASE LINES
The Contractor shall coordinate with the local electric company regarding
the kind of electric power needed.
The Contractor shall furnish all the materials and shoulder all other
expenses which might be charged by the local electric company in the
installation of three phase lines.
It shall be the Contractors responsibility to see to it that building is being
served by permanent lines before turning over the project.
