Resetting C6000/C6400 Error Codes

Model

FS-1018MFP/1118MFP

NOTE:
Due to unknown reasons, C6000 (Broken fuser heater) or C6400 (Zero cross signal error) may occur. In
some rare cases, the fuser unit assembly (C6000) or the Engine board EEPROM (C6400) needs
replacement although most of the time the error code only needs resetting through maintenance mode
163.

IMPORTANT:
To reset the error code, a specific procedure is to be done as follows:

Turn the printers main switch OFF.


Open the top cover and turn printer ON.
Wait till the display says Close Top Cover.
Press the System Menu/Counter Key to go to the Menu Settings.
Scroll down to SERVICE SETTING.
With the SERVICE SETTING menu highlighted, press the following 3 keys in the correct order:
START + # + OK

Scroll down to Maintenance mode and press OK.


Using the up/down arrow keys, scroll to 163 and press OK.
Select EXECUTE and press OK again. An asterisk will be shown beside the execute.
Then power the printer OFF and ON with the Top cover closed. This will get rid of the error code.

In cases where the Engine EEPROM needs replacement, please contact product support and have the
serial number and page count (approximate will do) ready. This will then be programmed into the new
chip for correct reference.
