T HE O RGANIZATIONAL S ETTING
The Bureau of Administration and Services (ADB) plays a lead role in the effective and efficient administrative management of the
Organization by ensuring the provision of high-quality physical and human resources, by applying the highest standards of work
ethics and conduct, and by using results based management skills and tools to support the Organization in implementing its Strategic
Objectives, in order to serve all stakeholders of the world aviation community.
The Revenue and Product Management (RPM) Section conducts marketing, promotion and sales of various revenue-generating
products emanating from ICAO Intellectual Properties (IP) and leads in the development of new products and services making
recommendations on potential business opportunities. The Business Analyst must develop a financial profile of revenue generating
opportunities in specific international aviation markets and provide business intelligence on the market position of ICAO and its
partners to build additional revenues. In addition, alternative business models to delivering IP to stakeholders and project
management support for the implementation of new products such as new licensing agreements, the development of commercial
publications, etc. is necessary. The Business Analyst must have the ability to synthesize inputs from many sources, across the ICAO
bureaus. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are as important as technical skills in this internal consulting role.

M AJOR DUTIES AND R ESPONSIBILITIES


Function 1 (incl. Expected results)
Estimate the value and size of commercial publications opportunities in international aviation, achieving results such as:

Analyse the current sales of services in the sector (including products and services like books, manuals, reports, templates,
training, guidelines, labels, etc.);

Analyse the product mix and market pricing of products (e.g. evaluate the market position of printed and electronic publications
being used by users such as operators, airports, shippers and manufacturers, compare product offerings);

Analyse the opportunity to integrate revenue generating products for additional value-added opportunities;

Identify the major industry players and their market share in the fields of publishing, training, and logistical support, or any
other commercial publications activities;

Forecast commercial publications opportunities in the marketplace.

Function 2 (incl. Expected results)


Identify market opportunities for revenue generation, achieving results such as:

Scope the market trends in terms of current and future customer needs, including the effect of technology and mobile
applications, new events, regional opportunities, data products;
Identify market gaps for potential ICAO products and services;
Identify potential partners who can provide support, add value or compliment ICAO IP;
Identify alternative IP products that could be supported by an ICAO licensing agreement including subscriptions that could be
sold electronically;
Review the opportunity to integrate existing products through partnerships, including the method for determining revenue and
the implications for ICAO IP;
Assess the value of the ICAO brand on a specific market(s).

Function 3 (incl. Expected results)

Provide project management support to new product implementation, achieving results such as:

Managing and coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines;

Manage information sharing and communications;

Assist in the research, negotiation, and development of licensing agreements and other partnership models; and

Provide ongoing advice on competitive and economic conditions which could affect the successful generation of revenue on
specific projects.

Function 4 (incl. Expected results)


Provide complete business cases outlining expected costs and benefits of revenue generating products, achieving results such as:

Expert business case development that supports ongoing revenue generation in the Section;

Strategies and business cases that realize new revenue through the ICAO IP;

Business cases that research and evaluate market potential, costs, market barriers, estimated revenues and define product
launch factors;

Business cases that outline the required expert resources, production timelines and final deliverables.

Education
A first-level University degree in Business Administration or Commerce.

Professional experience
Essential

At least 3 years of experience in business evaluation, working in a dynamic team.

Excellent computer skills and usage of technology for productivity.


Desirable

Experience in aviation-related commercial business analysis.

Language
Essential
Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English.
Desirable
A working knowledge of a second language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).

C ONDITIONS OF E MPLOYMENT
It should be noted that this post is to be filled for a minimum period of six (6) months with a possibility of extension up to 11 months.
Please note that the monthly rate for Band A-2 varies from $2,167 to $5,850.
