Important items to know 1/2

When building service designer creates a circular hole reservation
(ifc) the length can not be exactly the same as diameter because
otherwise Tekla hole reservation part may be rotated 90 degrees.
Better to put length e.g. 10 mm longer. Tekla hole reservation part
can also be rotated manually and changed Accept status = 2 to get
real cut to part element correctly. But this is extra work. Similar effect
may happen sometimes also if all sides of cubical part have equal
length. Then it is also better to put some e.g. 5 mm extra length in
cut direction
In new version (09.04.2012->) in comment field a text REMARK
SHAPE will be written if ifc shape not correctly recognized. This
appears after refreshing the dialog. Even message appears usually
Tekla hole reservation part is correctly converted
It is better to have separate (smaller) ifc file for hole reservations. If
also reference pipes wanted be shown in Tekla drawings it is faster
when ifc files not subdivided. In this case only hole reservation ifc file
needs to be subdivided

Important items to know 2/2

IFC reference object hole reservation attributes need to be defined in
the following way so that Tekla can recognize them as hole
reservations. See previous Needed files slide for an example.
Object type = ProvisionForVoid
Shape, width height, diameter, system attributes are defined in the following
way

Pset_ProvisionForVoid.Shape
Pset_ProvisionForVoid.Width
Pset_ProvisionForVoid.Height
Pset_ProvisionForVoid.Diameter
Pset_ProvisionForVoid.System

If needed ifc file can also be edited to have correct syntax

Pset_ProvisionForVoid.Depth attribute is in the direction of void and shows
the length of void. Note: direction is different e.g. in wall and slab cases

Hole reservation manager works faster if ifc file subdivided before

hand
