1.2. Description of the company


Please in 2 to 3 paragraphs describe briefly your company (biggest achievements, position on
the market, most important products and international cooperation). Publish information
which may be interesting for your potential trainees and help them to take decision about
applying to your company.
Green Frog Hostel s.r.l. was based on 2010 in Bucharest. We started the activity in tourism in
June 2011 with our first location as hostel.
In 2011 we were the best hostel on the market because we had the best location, new brand
utilities and best services.
In 2012 the share market was affected in a major way by the new openings (5 new hostels)
bigger and better than us. Three of them were born from this business using the parasitization
practice. The first one, opened by my partner who became the main competitor fed with our
image and market potential, the know-how and bookings ready provided (Umbrella). I
lost the website and somebody else used the inbox booking @greenfroghostel.com. The other
two were closed friends using the same leverage in a worst way more unfair that the first one.
One was suppose to become my partner and she preferred to still my work totally taking
entirely the new location (all my work). She only had to name the hostel (Oblik). The last but
not least is Antique. The use a dumping practice and an aggressive competition. Only few of
our competitors are not related to us before opening the business but at leasts they didnt still
anything, they didnt take advantage and they keep working in a fair way. The year of 2011
was the one with the best potential (image and market) but the Green Frog Hostel didnt
capitalized it. It was capitalized by our partners and friends taking the opportunity to open
their own business. In 2013 we were already weak by the parasitisation, obsolescence and
depreciation. The business continued in a very difficult way and not according with our
standards. The only good thing at the beginning of the year was the award Best Hostel
Romania received from Hostelwords Annual Conference.
In 2014 we must have a new location and re-gain a top position on the market. We wish and
we deserve because we are totally dedicated to this business, we love it and our guests still
love us and they deserve more. The brand itself deserves more.
Now, we are a small hostel (16 beds). The sales are too low and we cant afford to pay
employees. We must find a new location otherwise we have to transform the actual location
in a guesthouse.

campaign and brand promotion.
