MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 61-63; Romans 13
Monday, August 1

Eph. 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and
without God in the world:

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 64-66; Romans 14
Tuesday, August 2

Heb. 7:23-25 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to
continue by reason of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable
priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him,
seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 67-69; Romans 15
Wednesday, August 3

1 Tim. 4:8 godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now
is, and of that which is to come.

My Glorious God and King:

This is how the world feels today. Terrorism and violence leave us feeling
without hope. Yet the cross of the Lord Jesus spans the distance that separates
me from God. That means those who refuse Jesus reject their only hope.
Evangelism is either absolutely necessary or completely vain, because
Job 7:6 My days are swifter than a weavers shuttle, and are spent without hope.
Yet because of the cross, the curtain separating me from God is not just
rolled-up, but rent in twain from the top to the bottom (Matt. 27:51). It was not put
away for future use; it was tore up! Only one veil was made, and that one is
ripped in two, starting at the top. The one and only barrier is now destroyed. So
Rom. 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
The Devil himself cannot separate me from God now. The worst he can do
is hang up a torn veilone that is ripped and therefore rendered useless.
Lord, give me boldness to cross that bridge and enter into this fellowship
you provide by your death. I can say, Jehovah Shammah, the LORD is there
(Ezek. 48:35), and confess that,
Psa. 90:1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
Jesus! Let me live on earth like you are alive in heaven. Give me a
fellowship with you that is elevating, purifying, strengthening and emboldening.
Let me enter into your revealed thoughts through your word. Let me rise to your
purpose through the power of your Spirit. Lift me up to you even as you dwell in
me. Why should I stand outside when your cross brings me near? Amen.

Interceding Savior:
You, by your death, provided everything necessary for my salvation. But by
your continued life you apply the provision you made in your death. You live on
purpose to see all the blessings and privileges you purchased on the cross brought
home and enjoyed by me.
You died in my place, but if you did not still live for me, your death would
be a miscarriage. You would have started a work and provided all the resources
for completion, but there would be no one to make them available, and complete
the temple whose foundation was laid in so costly a price.
I am pardoned by your death, but justified by your resurrection. I am saved
because you died, but secured because you sit on the right hand of the throne of
the Father and continually make intercession, praying for me.
Help me today to make as much of your life as I ever have of your death! I
sat down at Calvary in wonderment at your hearts blood poured out for my
redemptionlove written in streams of crimson. But let me sit now at the foot
of your throne, a throne of grace, and see how you spend your glorified life in
intercession for me. Prayer for one purpose: so I can preach your gospel to
others. You are ever living to apply with your own hands what you purchased by
the fastening of those hands and the piercing of your heart on the cross.
Thank you Jesus, for the supplication you make for me. Let me not be
silent for you, O Lord. Amen.

Dear Lord and Master:

I look only to you, who poured-out your soul unto death on my behalf.
Help me walk in the Spirit until I joyfully see your face. Reveal yourself to me.
Draw me nearer to you. Keep me in unison, union and communion with you.
It is a blessing to think of heaven at the end of my life, but equally so to
think about all the ways you can me holy along the way! I too seldom meditate
on the blessedness of the hard but right way (as John Bunyan called it). Just to
be on the way is a marvel of grace. Stores of covenant blessings are provided in
advance along my way. Because of your providence, as a pilgrim I am a blessed
person! I have such joy and peace in walking with you. I can bear witness that,
Psa. 19:11 Moreover by [the judgments of the LORD] is thy servant warned: and in
keeping of them there is great reward.
Jesus, the most educated Christian in the world has to find his wisdom in
revivalor else die a fool in the faith. Spirit of God guide me, as my heart is set
on coming to you. Critics are always sure to err, but the wayfaring man, the pilgrim,
the one who is actually traveling the road and moving forward, shall not err. As
long as I stay on the road I cannot make a wrong turn!
The walkway is laid down in your word so plainly, even a child can make
headway in it. The way is difficult only for those who talk about it but never be
about it. There is always enough light to travel, as long as I keep moving. The
cross is seen clearly enough for all to look and live.
The main thing is to know Bible principles and practice them. One
thing is needful (Luke 10:42): revival! Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 70-72; Romans 16
Thursday, August 4

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 73-75; 1 Corinthians 1
Friday, August 5

SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 76-78; 1 Corinthians 2
Saturday, August 6

Rom. 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for
it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

WEVE a story to tell to the nations, that shall turn their hearts to the right,
A story of truth and mercy, a story of peace and light,
A story of peace and light.
Weve a song to be sung to the nations, that shall lift their hearts to the Lord,
A song that shall conquer evil and shatter the spear and sword,
And shatter the spear and sword.
Weve a message to give to the nations, that the Lord who reigns up above
Has sent us His Son to save us, and show us that God is love,
And show us that God is love.
Weve a Savior to show to the nations, who the path of sorrow has trod,
That all of the worlds great peoples might come to the truth of God,
Might come to the truth of God.
For the darkness shall turn to dawning, and the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christs great kingdom shall come on earth,
The kingdom of love and light.
H. Ernest Nichol, 1896

Matt. 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.

Psa. 110:3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of
holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

Our Father Which Art in Heaven:

There is something in the spirit of a child that makes him or her recognize
and love his father. And we,
Rom. 8:15 have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
This is a sweet compound of spices! We have faith that knows God to be
Father, love and affection recognize him as Father, joy rejoices in him as
Father, fear trembles to disobey him as Father, and confident trustfulness relies
on him and casts itself completely on him as Father. We know by the inerrant
word of scripture that he is our Father! We know by the infallible witness of the
Spirit that Jehovah, God of heaven and earth, is indeed the Father of our hearts.
Help us feel this Spirit of adoption. Other than seeing Jesus himself, there is
nothing better than to know the Spirit of adoption. When the winds of trouble blow
across our church, when waves of adversity are rising, when our ship is reeling
toward the rocks, how important to say, Our Father! How important to know and
believe his hand is at the helm.
There is music, there is eloquence, there is the essence of heaven in that
word, Our Father. Help us speak it with an unstammering tongue, for so we come
to you in prayer. When we talk to Our Father we are not afraid of being
misunderstood. If our words are a little out of place, you read our hearts. Our
prayers seem like broken things sometimes, but your Spirit puts them together. It
is a prayer full of faults, but if it begins with Our Father, it is heard. Read the right
meaning into our desire to fulfill your purpose. And as we pray together help us
center ourselves in our relationship with the Father. Do it in Jesus name. Amen.

Beautiful Savior:
You admire holiness. Holiness puts me in a state of eternal youth! Since
you ever live, I can live to grow in grace. As your strength never fails, I never
have to fail to be strong. The beauties of holiness are my priestly attire, and my
garments of glory forever. O Lord Jesus, my security is in you, and therefore I
need never be insecure.
Psa. 110:5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his
wrath.
This will happen at your Second Coming. You will not sit forever in
waiting. One day you will return to enter the fray on my side, and end this weary
war through your own victorious presence. Even so, come Lord Jesus! When
eternal power arrives, all earthly power dies.
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up
your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
You will throw your heart into the battle, and shorten it in righteousness.
My head will be lifted in victory as it is lifted in your glory. You passed this way
once, Jesus. But that was when you were burdened with the serious work of your
first coming, which was Calvary. In your second advent it will be an easy victory.
You reign now, before the Fathers throne. Oh, that you would come even
today to rule on this blue orb, which rightly belongs to you as his Son! Come
claim and redeem what you purchased by your own blood. We love you, adore
you, and worship you for you deserve it. Bring with you the victory over life that
you won in your death. Do it even now, Lord Jesus. Amen.

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
