Kebangsaan Seri Bintang Selatan accompanied by two teachers, Cikgu

Aishah Farhana and Cikgu Norhafizah, visited the Forest Research Institute of
Malaysia (FRIM). The aim was for the members to learn more about trees and
animals.
We were told by Encik Noradzam Bin Hussin, the officer of FRIM, that trees
are used to make papers. We also learnt that some plants can be used as
herbs to cure sicknesses. We were shown the famous Tongkat Ali plant and
asked to take a bite of its leaf. It was so bitter.
We could also see squirrels. The guide told us that the word squirrels comes
from the Greek word shadow tail. They like to eat all types of nuts.

On the whole, the visit was very educational especially for us who
live in town.

One day, donkey fell into the farmers well. The farmer heard the donkey
braying when it fell. After thinking for a while, the farmer felt sorry for the
donkey. He therefore called his neighbours together and told them what had
happened. He asked them to help him carry soil to bury the old donkey in the well
and put him out of his pain.
The old donkey was not happy. It was angry. But as the farmer and his
neighbours continued digging and the soil hit the donkeys back, it thought of an
idea. Every time the soil landed on its back, it shook off and stepped up! The
donkey did this again and again.
Shake it off and step upshake it off and step upshake it off and step up!
It repeated to encourage itself. No matter how painful the situation seemed, the
old donkey kept himself strong and continued shaking it off and stepping up!
It was not long before the old donkey, beaten and tired, stepped confidently
over the wall of the well!
