Problem/Event
The problem that can be clearly seen this week was my activities during the
presentation stage did not really encourage students participation. Most of my activities
during the presentation stage was too teacher-centred.
Analysis
Although presentation stage was the time when the teacher gives input on
what she will focussed on during practice stage, the students participation still should not be
taken for granted. As mentioned by Fedler in her article, students should involve in active
learning where they solve the problem themselves. However, most of my activities during the
presentation stage were too teacher-centred. This will cause problem as the students might
be not interested in the learning process. Thus, it is important to make the presentation
stage more interesting. This is important to grab the students attention. Moreover, this will
also help to ensure that the students understood the input that the teacher had given them at
this stage.
Suggestions for improvement
a. I should involve the students during the presentation stage.
b. I should include hands on activity for them.
Time frame
I will implement it in my future lesson so that the pupils will be able to learn
better.
