X. Findings of the Study

Shown in figure 2 are the average luminance of each classroom by session
particularly in second floor of the BE building. This shows that in the morning
session, both in on and off conditions (light & dark blue), all the classroom achieved
the standard luminance. Each of the classroom have reached the standard luminance
rating which is 200 lux higher (yellow).

While in the afternoon session, in on

condition (light green), the classrooms also achieved the standard lux reading. In off
condition (dark green), some of the classrooms cannot comply the standard luminance
which are the classrooms BE 205-BE 208 which reads 179 lux and BE 211 which
reads 199 lux. Compared to the standard this classrooms are lower than the standard
rating and cannot reach the luminance which is 200 lux higher. In the evening session
(pink & red), all the classrooms failed to achieve the standard luminance.
readings are below the recommended luminance.

Shown in figure 3 are the average luminance of each classroom by session
particularly in third floor of the BE building. This shows that in the morning session,
both in on and off conditions (light & dark blue), almost all of the classroom achieved
the standard luminance.

The classroom that failed to achieve the standard are

classrooms BE 305, BE 311, BE 321, BE 325, BE 327 and BE 331. This classrooms
reads lower luminance compared to the standard luminance (yellow) which is 200 lux.
While in the afternoon session, in on condition (light green), the classrooms also
achieved the standard lux reading.

In off condition (dark green), some of the

classrooms cannot comply the standard luminance which are the classroom BE 301BE 309, BE 316, BE 318, BE 321, BE 325, BE 327, BE 331, and BE 333-336. In the
evening session (orange & red), almost all the classrooms achieve the standard
luminance. Only the classrooms BE 319 and BE 321 failed the standard.

Figure 3. Average Luminance for Third Floor

Shown in the figure 4 are the average luminance of each section by session
particularly in the university library area. This shows that in the morning session (dark
blue), afternoon (light blue) and evening session (light green), almost all of the area in
the library achieved the standard luminance (red). This areas reads a lux reading
higher than 300 lux. It shows that this areas achieved the recommended luminance.
The only area failed to achieve the required standard luminance is the E-resources
which reads 189.47 lux, which reads lower than 200-750 lux since it is considered as a
classroom.
