Dr. Ludwig Christmann, a graduate of the universities of Giessen and Goettingen, began his
employmentwiththeHanoveranerVerbandin1984.HeworkedformanyyearsasDeputyBreeding
Directorandwasresponsiblefordevelopingvariousprojects,includingtheYoungBreedersInitiative,
thebreedingprogramforHanoverianshowjumpinghorses,andtheresearchintoOCD.In1996he
obtainedhisdoctoratedegreewithThedevelopmentofbreedingvaluesbasedontheevaluationof
maresinstudbookinspectionsandmareperformancetests.HehasbeeneditorofHannoveraner
JarbuchHengstesince1999andisamemberoftheInterstallionworkinggroupoftheWorldBreeding
FederationforSportHorses.In2002Dr.ChristmannbecamemanagingdirectorfortheVerbandsbreedingabroadand
directorofanewdivisionforresearch,developmentandconsultingwithintheHanoverianSociety.Thelatestprogramfor
which he is responsible is Experience Hanoverians, a project for promoting the Hanoverian as a pleasure horse. Dr.
Christmannismarried,andheandhiswifehavethreeadultdaughters,twoofwhomareriders.Inhissparetimehebreeds
hisownhorsesandcurrentlyhasthreeHanoveriansathome.

GeorgeWalkerreceivedboardappointmenttotheMareandStallionCommitteein2002.Duringthe
February2008annualmeetinginLexingtonhewasratifiedasthesocietysneweststallionjudge.George
andhiswifeCatherineownandoperateMiddlefieldFarminBlythewood,S.C.Georgewasraisedwith
Thoroughbredsinonecapacityoranother,andin1984hisfamilyacquiredtheirfirstHanoverians.While
thefamilyhasraisedandstoodseveralstallionsinthepast,includingBanter,recentlytheiremphasis
hasbeenonmaintainingaselectgroupofhomebredmares.Theoperationisstrictlyhandson,including
thebreedingandbreakingwork.Heandhisfamilyhavehadthepleasureoflearningagreatdealfrom
theirfriendsGerdandYvonneZutherandFritzFloto.GeorgebelievesindonatingbacktotheSocietyandistheelectedmember
ofAHSsFinanceCommittee.Inthefallof2007hejudgedinGermanyduringtheHVsstallionpreselectionphaseinwhich813
coltswereinspected.
