Before I write some quotes by Umar (ra)

Id like to quickly give some information
about the great man! Ill keep it brief as
Ive written a bit more in the Umar Series
post.
Umar ibn Al-Khattab was from the
Quraysh of Makkah, he was a very
powerful and astute man even before he became muslim! He was very
blunt in his words and stood firmly for what he believed in.
After he became a Muslim he was one the closest companions of the
Prophet (saw). Hadhrat Umar Ibn Al-Khattab had many sayings and all
of which can be appropriate to anyone at anytime.
Quotes by Umar (ra) are very powerful as he was the foremost in matter
of knowledge and learning among his contemporaries. Umar also
written as Omar was the second Caliph of Islam and what a great Amir
he was (ra).
There are many distinctions of Umar bin Al-Khattab, He was the first
Muslim ruler (Caliph) to be known by the title of Amir ul Mumineen.

1. He who keeps his own counsel keeps his affairs in his own hands.
2. Fear him, whom you hate.
3. The wisest man is he who can account for his actions.
4. Do not put off todays work for tomorrow.
5. Money cannot help lifting its head.
6. What regresses, never progresses.
7. He who does now know evil will fall into it.
8. When a man puts me a question, I judge of his intelligence.
9. Dont forget your own self while preaching to others.

11. Avoidance of sin is lighter than the pain of remorse.

14. May Allah have mercy on him who sends me my faults as a
present.
15. Preserve the sayings of those people who are indifferent to the
world. They say only that what Allah wishes them to say.
16. Fear Allah, for He alone lives; all other things are liable to perish.
17. The wisest among you is he whose sustenance is the fear of Allah.

18. Praise Allah, for by praise His blessings multiply.

19. Fear Allah, for that is fortune; indifference to Allah is misfortune.
20. Be patient; patience is a pillar of faith.

As salaam wa alaykum .
Please could someone confirm if Umar RA said the
following:
My heart is at ease knowing that what was meant for me

will never miss me and that what misses me was never

meant for me.
I have always believed this to be a saying of Umar RA but
recently have seen this quote credited to someone else.And
would like to be sure.
