new logo in Illustrator, drawing inspiration from ancient

Aztec art, and giving it a modern design. I placed the logo
in Indesign. Using Photoshop, I cut out two images of tacos. I
then placed them on the design. On one of them, I used the
text wrap feature on Indesign to make the body copy float
around the image.

Date: May 28th 2016

Course/Instructor: COMM 130 Section 2 - Ben Pingel
Programs/Tools: Adobe Photoshop
Objectives: Blend multiple photos to create one unified image,
create a religious-themed montage

Process: I obtained three photos and used the one of the

mountain as a background. I then flipped the picture of

Seattle upside down and placed it under the mountain.
Then, I used a masking layer and the painbrush tool to
blend them together. I did the same with the picture of the
hand. Then, I put a blue tint over the whole image.

Description: An original custom logo.
Date: June 4th 2016
Course/Instructor: COMM 130 Section 2 - Ben Pingel
Programs/Tools: Adobe Illustrator
Objectives: Create an original logo using the tools in

the text underneith.

an HTML sheet on TextWrangler. Then, using a CSS sheet, I
stylized it. I created a background image on Indesign using

that I needed for a split compe=lementary

Event Ad:
Description: A color, full-bleed event ad created using only
Microsoft Word.

Date: May 14th 2016

Course/Instructor: COMM 130 Section 2 - Ben Pingel
Programs/Tools: Microsoft Word
Objectives: Create an event ad to appeal to outdoor
enthusiasts.

Process: I scanned the photo of the hiker and adjusted its

contrast and brightness. Because the image is very busy, it

made it difficult to see text when it was inserted. To solve
this, I used the rectangle tool and created some transparent
grey boxes within which I put the text. This also helped give
the image some repetition.

at graduating college students.

Process: I used a big, bold, san serif font for the title to draw

the audiences attention to the top of the page, creating

a downward flow as they read through it. To create
