A webpage for my roommate Jennifer. It is called Arrow Clothing by Jen.

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and TextWrangler.

June 26, 2016

Size and optimize an original logo as a .png or a web page.

Write content to describe the process of creating your logo andhow it appeals to a target audience.
Design a web page using HTML to display a logo and content.
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML and basicunderstanding of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple files in a zipped folder to attach as one file.

I created the logo using Adobe InDesign. I started with creating two circles.
One of them has only a stroke and the other has only a fill. I then used
Text Wrangler to add the text, change codes and change the CSS. I added a
background image to my webpage and also I inserted an
opacity on the writing section to add a modern twist to the webpage.

A tri-folded brochure for a wedding planning company

Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

July 10th 2016

Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.

Learn how to wrap text around an image.
Use paragraph styles in InDesign.

I used InDesign to create the layout of the brochure. I found the

images online and edited them in Photoshop. I created many
rectangular boxes and filled it with wedding-like colors, such as
light-green, lavender, and white. I also created tiny diamond shapes in
InDesign to create a different texture and element to the brochure. It
is repeated throughout the entire brochure. On many of the lettered
boxes I lowered the opacity and also for the images as well. I then
sketched what I wanted my brochure to look like and then
transferred everything to InDesign.

July 15th 2016

Objective

Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image. Design

consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead.Use the basic
tools of Illustrator and InDesign.

process

For the business card I created a layout of 3.5 inches by 2

inches. Once I had the layout I found the image that my friend
wanted for her clothing line and added it as the background i
mage. I then copied the logo I created for her from illustrator
and applied it onto the front of the image. I then copied the
color of one of the arrows and had that as her background
color for the back on the card. I used the same font for her
name and added all of her information.

For the letterhead I created the layout on InDesign. I got the

image that I had used for my business card and filled up the
entire page. I added a long rectangular box and colored it with a
color that matched the image. I added all of the information and
had it aligned to the right hand side.

Tree logo variations for the same company.

Adobe Illustrator

June 5th 2016

Create a variety of logos to fit a company or personal image.

Use the basic tools of Illustrator

The program that I used for this project was Adobe Illustrator. I first started
this process by sketching ideas of my logo. The first thing that I created was
the leaves with the pen tool. I wanted them to look like hearts and leaves
at the same time. I then created the house with the pen tool as well. For
the house structure I changed the line from a basic line to a divider tool to
give it an extra touch. I created a little house and doorknob to make the
image of the house.

An insperational montage made by the blending of two or more images,

and the use of typography.
Adobe Photoshop

July 15th 2016

.Learn to blend images together smoothly, using masks.

Learn to manage Photoshop layers.
Apply appropriate typography.
Use filters.
The first step that I did was find the images that I wanted for my
montage. Once I found the images that I wanted I uploaded them onto
Photoshop. I had the starry night image as my background image and
the elephants as my forefront image. I created layers on each image
so that I dont damage the original image. I then used the wuick selection tool so that I dont go over the elephant and the people as I try to
mask the image. I then change the levels of the starry night image and
the vibrance of the entire montage. I created the text boxes and change
fonts and color to some of the words.

A color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using only Microsoft

Word and a scanner
Microsoft Word
Epson Scanner
PDF2JPG.net (PDF converter)
May 13th 2016
Find, scan and import a high-quality image.
Use text boxes for layout in Word.
Insert and edit images in Word.
Create a full-bleed design.

I scanned the image of the Orchid and then used Microsoft Word to
create this Ad. I decided to put the whole image as my background. I
chose the decorative font Eccentric because I felt it fit with the school
theme of my Ad. Also because it is rarely used. I aligned the date, time
and place in the center of the colored circles on the top lefthand side.
Then I decided to align the bottom left body copy with the basket that the
orchids are in. I worked very hard to get the right alignment for all of
my Ad. The original image had the colored circles on the left hand side.

Black and white fier to promote a graduate leadership conference.

Adobe InDesign

July 15th 2016

Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography.

Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic fier layout.
Create a project folder with image, logo and InDesign document to
keep links intact.

This is a re-do project that I have created for my flier project. For this
project I first created a large rectangular box. I then figured out what
type of font I would want to use. I then created polygons to create the
design I have visioned. I lowered the opacity of those that had no text
in them and kept the full opacity in those that have words in them.
The images and words came from my instructor for our assignment.

A personally taken photograph that has been edited and

formatted using Adobe Photoshop.
Canon PowerShot Camera
Adobe Photoshop
May 22nd 2016

Objective

Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then download it.

Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels.
Use a selection tool to isolate a portion of the image.
Desaturate the selected portion of the image.
Use afilter or colorize a portion of the image.
Learn basic photography skills.
Size and crop the image.

process

I started with a DSLR camera. I used outdoor light in my photo

and focused on my model in the foreground. I used the
element of composition using thirds. After taking the picture I
then used the Adobe Photoshop program to brighten the light
with levels. I then used the vibrance/ saturation to make the
color eye- catching. I used the color selection for red in the
hair so that it could really stand out even though it wasnt the
main color. Lastly I used the sharpening tool on her, her hair,
and eyes. A picture really does speak a thousand words.
