Adobe Illustrator

Objectives
Create a new logo for a company that would best communicate their message
to a specific audience.

Process
I began with the inspiration of a simple bowl of icecream. I used the ellipses
tool to create identical circles. Once I had layered them the way I wanted
I put a 3px white stroke around the edges so that they could each be
independent pieces. I choose a complemenary color sheme and muted the
colors to create a softer look. Finally, I inserted fonts that would be clean yet
denote a retro feel. I slightly altered the two other logos for a black and white
print as well as a different colored background so that the logo could be used
in many different places forx a business.

Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

Objectives
Create a full bleed color brochure.

Process
I started by creating a logo in Illustrator. It was in creating this logo that I
decided I wanted to utilize triangles throughout my design. I used both the
rounded rectangle tool and polygon tool (with 3 sides) to create my logo.
I placed my logo into InDesign and began creating my brochure. I used a
hard copy 8.5 x 11 piece of paper to draw a mock up of what I wanted my
brochure to look like. I wanted to incorparte the theme of traingle into my
actual layout. I physically measured on paper and then placed ruler guides in
InDesign. My Photos were cropped and cut out in Photoshop and then placed
into the InDesign file. I used text wrap and paragraph styling for the content
of my brochure. I worked hard to create a design that would communicate a
modern look.

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign

Objectives
Create a professional logo and business card.

Process
I started with the logo design in Illustrator. I used the rounded rectangle and
elipses tool to draw up a camera. I incorporated the name of the photography
company in the logo with an effort the find the right font family. Once the logo
was complete I placed it into a InDesign file where I used the rectangle tool
to draw outlines for my business cards. I kept the design clean and simple to
make it legible and professional.

Adobe Photoshop

Objectives
Create a full bleed photodesign with original photgraphy specifically
emphasizing a color scheme.

Process
The bulk of this project was in the photography and using the right props to
create a big split complementary color scheme. Once I captured the picture
I uploded it into photoshop where I edited the photo and completed the rest
of the design. I used the following adjustment tools: brigtness/contrast, levels,
hue/saturation and color balance. Once I had pulled out the colors to match
my chosen color scheme I designed a simple background to call attention to
the photo and the big slpit complementary color scheme of violet, teal, brick
and gold.

Adobe InDesign

Objectives
Create a full bleed photo montage using masking and blending to merge
different images.

Process
I began the design process looking for an inspirational quote that was
important to me. Once I found my quote I knew I wanted to incorporate
Gods hands. I masked the hands and blended them in Photoshop. I placed
the hands behind my main photo of the woman in the field and then added
another layer behind to give more depth to the sky.

Process
I placed the photography logo in a 8.5 x 11 InDesign file. I added a blue
line header to split up the page. I finished by duplicating the photography
logo and added transparency to create a watermark in the lower right hand
corner. This design was kept simple for clarity and branding to match the

Microsoft Word 2011

Objectives
Create a full color bleed flier promoting an event using a scanned image.

Process
I began by searching for an image of a child coloring. I found the perfect
picture and scanned it in at 300ppi. I had to enlarge the image quite a bit
while keeping the image clear. I used boxes in Word to input my text and box
designs around the text. I chose a monochromatic color scheme to compliment
the childs shirt and marker. The fonts that I chose create a fun feel to emulate
a family fun activity.
