Preparation for the 21st century is one of the measures to elevate the image of the country in
the near future. In the 21st century we face the issues and the internal and external challenges as
a result of the impact of globalization, liberalization, and technological developments. This
prompted the state to make changes in the cross-currents of the modernity to the present
education.
The first preparation is provide facilities and exposes Information Communication
Technology (ICT) in schools. ICT is playing a vital role in the institutions in the form of
improving the overall performance of the students. Teachers need to provide training to the
students who are unfamiliar with the use of computer systems. A computer system helps in
enhancing the knowledge new students. ICT has facilitated all the institutes in improving the
technology round the globe. ICT helps in sharing information across the world. Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) is an important component in improving the quality of
teaching, learning and management in modern schools.
In addition, students should be given wider exposure on internet use. Students have access to
unimaginable amounts of information today. The internet provides an incredible research tool
that can be their best friend or worst enemy. Accessing information is easy but accessing good
information tends to be more complicated. Students need to be taught by their teachers how to
sift through the millions of web pages available on a topic. They need to learn the difference
between factual information and factual-sounding opinions. Many students today will answer at
websites to gather information and not really thinking about how the information was written by
a person who may or may not be correct pr truly knowledgeable in a subject area. So teachers
have to show them how to search, and how to use those answer without being misled.
Besides that, the staffs of the school as the PIBG should be open minded and accept all the
changes. The teacher also must always be ready to make changes of the teaching way either in or
outside the classroom. For example, changes in the educational system based on school-based
assessment. The purpose of this modified to enhance the teaching and learning process in a more
comprehensive and complete than physically, emotionally, spiritual, intellectual and social.
When our country was able to create well-balanced students in terms of physical and spiritual, it
could increase the countrys name on the world stage.

The next preparation is teacher should have a variety of skills in terms of teaching and
learning. All students should be exposed to much more about what they studied than the
minimum that most students are exposed to today. They also need to know how to use theirs
knowledge and skills-by thinking critically, applying knowledge to new situations, analyzing
information, comprehending new ideas, communicating, collaborating, solving problems, and
making decisions. Students need to develop their skills at seeing problems from different angles
and formulating their own solutions. To practice this, teachers should present students with
situations in which they need to figure things out for themselves where skills that they have
already developed can be drawn upon and applied to help them figure out a problem.
Knowledge gained in school is only one goal of education. The primary goals of education
should be enabling students to gain knowledge and moral values. Students will need both in
preparing themselves to be good parents and citizens in society. The most important assets of a
nation are the citizens themselves. If the citizens are healthy, patriotic, honest and sincere, the
nation will progress at much faster pace. For this reason, it is very essential to have moral
education in schools. To impart moral education to students, there can be many ways such as
teachers need to demonstrate good values to students.
Lastly, teachers should be exposed to the knowledge to master the current technology. With
all these technology, teachers will be very creative with the teaching styles. A good teacher can
be defined as someone who always pushes students to want to do their best while at the same
time trying to make learning interesting as well as creative.
In conclusion, setup and preparation for the 21st century is important to realize the dreams and
ambitions of the country toward the advancement. Many national and worldwide organizations
have indentified what they believe are the most important learning competencies for 21st century
learners.

The destruction of the worlds forests is inevitable as our need for land and food grows. Do you
agree?

Forests are one of the most important aspects of the planet we live in. Forests also are vitally
important to the environment, animals, and of course for us human. Forests are known as habitats
and shelters to millions of species. Malaysian forests are rich with diverse species of flora and
fauna, it contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of our country, Malaysia.
Government must ensure that at least 50 percent of the countrys land area preserved as forested
areas. Therefore, I strongly disagree if destruction of forests is done just for land and food grows.
My first reason is because forests are the place, where the animal lives. Then, if we destroy it
than the animal live in the forest will come out of the forests jungles and will reach to the
nearest living places and would destroy our civilization. For instance, wild orchids have been
reported almost extinct. Besides, aquatic lives such as turtles are also threatened. According to
the Pusat Santuari Penyu Rantau Abang, Terengganu report, in 1986 there were 5,665 turtles are
born but in 1994, there were only 2,247 turtles. It showed that forests destruction destroys the
habitats of species of plants and animals that will need the areas of forest to survive. Thus, it may
lead to the extinction of these species, causing havoc in the biological food chains and the
delicate balance of the ecosystem of these areas.
Next reason is forests destruction can cause flooding and drought. This is because one of the
vital functions of forests is to absorb and store great amounts of water quickly when there are
heavy rains. When forests are cut down, this regulation of the flow of eater is disrupted which
leads to alternating periods of floods and then drought in the affected area. So, we should not
ever destroy the forest and should save the forest.
Another reason is because when the forest areas are cleared, it results in exposing the soil to
the sun. Thus, overtime the soil will lose its fertility. In addition, when there is rainfall, it washes
away the rest of the nutrients which flow with the rainwater into the waterways. Because of this,
merely replanting tress may not help in solving the problems caused by forests destruction, for
by the time the trees mature, the soil will be totally devoid of essential nutrients. Eventually,
cultivation in this land will also become impossible, resulting in the land becoming useless.
Forests are the significant resources to hold the soil. The roots of trees stretch into the land
tightly grab the soil.

Besides that, it is well-known that global warming is being caused largely due to emissions of
greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Nevertheless, what is not knows quite
as well is that forests destruction has a direction association with carbon dioxide emissions into
the atmosphere. When forests destruction occurs, many of trees are burnt or they are allowed to
rot, the consequences in releasing the carbon that is stored in them as carbon dioxide. This leads
to greater concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. According to the Malaysian
Meteorological Department weather, the temperature in our country showed an increasing for the
period of 40 years to 50 years, especially in the Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands
which has an average temperature of 18 C has been shown to increase between 2 C to 3 C in
recent years the effects of deforestation. The worlds climate changes drastically because if rising
carbon dioxide levels. But many people dont realize the damage that is being done. Forests are
very important to the environment because they use carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. More
the oxygen, the less the global warms. Hence, forest save us from global warms.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree with deforestation activities as there are many
disadvantages as compared to the benefits. People living in the world destroying the forests, to
take care about their self and some natural disaster also destroying the forests and we should
have to take the action of the forest destruction against of these wrong people and natural
disasters to save our universe. Therefore stop rampant deforestation.

In your life experience, what is the best advice you have ever received?

Since we are born, everyone is always giving us advice and telling us how we should
live our life. Advice is an opinion about what could or should be done about a situation or
problem. Advice is good when it lets us approach something by ourselves, so that we, as an
individual, can grow with what we learn from it. Advice comes in many aspects of this world and
can be taken in different ways as well. Advice involves two people, the advisor and the advisee.
Both people play an equal role in the giving and taking of advice. Good advice should just throw
opinion up in the air, and let the advisee choose what to do with it whether take it or not.
However, good advice must use polite language and manner of service that does not offend
others but increase motivation within themselves, who receive that advice.
Among the advice that I have been received, first of first is always have a positive
perception to others. When you meet with a new people, you immediately begin to develop an
initial impression of this person, even though you know a very little about him. Since the
beginning it has been human nature to judge others before really getting a chance to know them.
So we as a humane man should not think bad about other people because it will cause problems
to him. Furthermore, we justly cannot judge a book by its cover. As example, we have no
evidence to prosecute anyone but we just make assumptions based on appearance, behavior and
mentally categorize people based on common characteristics. Obviously, we must have positive
perception to others to avoid any conflicts and to prevent innocent people from being victimized.
Next, we must speak well with others. This advice was given to me and I think this is such a
good advice. We must speak kindly. We can refer to those things that are pleasant, and discuss
that in their characters that is worthy of praise. It hurts us to say bad things of other people, and it
may hurt them. What we know of others that is not good, let us not refer to. Silence is never
more charitable than when it spares a human heart. Besides, we must speak using good works
and speak politely. If we speak using abusive words, it would only hurt others and can cause
fights. Indeed, those who like to insult other people do not seem grateful for the blessings given
by God.
Another good advice that has been given to me is do not give up. Apparently in your life,
people are often faced with various problems but no matter how many times you fall, no matter
how many times you fail, just get up and move on. You have to try harder and try once more. Do
not get demoralized and do not think that you cant do what other people can. As humans, we are

taught not to go down and give up, be courageous in your life because we are blessed with
common sense to solve problems. We shouldnt underestimate our potential.

Besides that, the fourth advice is always planning our life. This is important because it will
give you clarity about where your life is headed. Then, it also will keep you in balance when
things get crazy and it will give you peace of mind, knowing you are are addressing those aspects
of your life that matter most. For instance, like chess game. In this game we need to plan the
perfect chess move. At this point, the players are starting to do planning movement to destroy
their defense and then conquer it. But it is advance planning will perenially successful? It was
certainly not, as opponents will also do plan to avoid attack. That is why we have to always plan
our life.
As a conclusion, advice is very important in our lives to make changes in ourselves and
make ourselves better than the previous one. T most important is that when I receive advice, it
must not be forced onto us. When advice is truly sincere, it is given to us in the hopes that we
might take it, but it should never make us feel guilty if we don't. We must give good advice to
others and accept criticsm from others.

QUESTION 6
Why community service is important in todays world?
Community service is welfare and such a moral value that should be pursued in all walks of
life regardless of age. It is regarded as welfare because Community Service refers to voluntary

and unpaid acts for any assistance performances. For instance, caring for the environment by
cleaning the old folks home, religious house, make a fund collection from the community for an
orphanage association, helping senior citizen and disabled people who are staying in the rural
area to do some household chores. This is a way to foster unity in the community. This is a very
good work that should be supported because it is done voluntarily just for the prosperity of our
beloved country, Malaysia.
The advantages of such community service and community involvement are many, from a
greater feeling of self satisfaction and self esteem to a better perception. Therefore, by
participating in service projects shall give them greater awareness about the meaning of life and
make they know about the reality of life. Indeed, before implementing any activity they are less
empathize about the life of senior citizens who lack of love and affection. Besides that, many
disabled people who are crippled or physically handicapped inspire us to be grateful. Community
service project will ease their burden and hardship. So Community Service is a way to brighten
others lives and brings a feeling of satisfaction upon you.
Apart of that, helping others through community Service helps to reduce social ills among
teenagers. Teenagers always want to try out new experiences and if not properly channeled could
be detrimental to them. Getting teens involved in community service helps them to be
responsible, take decisions and face the consequences of their decisions. This is because the
community service program provides them with decision making skills which will help them
when they take up a profession. Essentially, by volunteering, teens learn to be responsible for
the well-being of our communities. Besides, community services could also help a teenager
choose his career. For example, if the teenager is involved in community services in a library,
they might decide to become a librarian.
Futhermore, community service can lead to increased care for others and a desire to cooperate
and get involved in positive ways. By participating in community service projects, they will
recognize each other and feel the burden of other peoples lives such as older people who have a
very poor life. Generally, community service projects shall forge bonds with each other, as well
as other members of the community. These can enhance their interpersonal skills and increase
their social network. Then, moral values such as mutual respect and love each other can be

nurtured. So, all people should not waste this opportunity to involved in such healthy activities
and enjoy the community service.
Another major benefit of community service is the societys perception of teenagers would be
better which is society will be more positive and open minded about the behavior of teenangers
nowadays. Yes, social ills among teenangers that occurred this period now. Accordingly, various
measures should be highlighted to overcome social ill among teenagers such as youth
involvement in community service activities. The issues of adolescence that is often thrown with
a negative charge by the mass media and society can also be overcome thus teenagers nowadays
would save our beloved country, Malaysia from any social problems in the future.
For the conclusion, the public, especially the youths should be encouraged to participate in
community service that draws a variety of benefits to the country and society. In the young age,
the level of curiosity in a teenagers life is very high. Whatever they hear, see, read and learn
about, they will always ask what, why and how. So to produce successful and useful adolescents,
they need to be exposed in community service activites that will generate a sense of
responsibility toward others. This feeling will encourage them to help others and make them
more obedient to their parents. Community service is able to produce visionary citizens. This
will enhance Malaysias image on the world stage.

QUESTION 7
Tourism is becoming increasingly important as a source of revenue for many countries but its
disadvantages should not be overlooked. What are some of the disadvantages of tourism?

Malaysia is a beautifully complex vacation destination, a land where ancient rainforests give
way to multicultural city life. In Malaysia there are too many places that are rich with natural
beauty such as Rantau Abang, Telok Batik, and Taman Negara. Therefore, it was not surprising
when 12.77 million visiting various destinations across the country. As a result, the government
has managed to collect RM 24 billion from the tourism industry. Nowadays many people travel
around the world. It may seem that tourism brings only benefits, but further consideration shows
that it also has disadvantages.
One major disadvantage of tourism is that tourism cause pollution and can damage the
environment. This is because many rural areas will be explored and developed to be used as
tourist spots. The developments in technology and infrastructure have made many rural areas to
become more accessible. Nevertheless, development of tourist areas cause environmental
damage through forest fires, destruction of sand dunes and pollutions such as visual and noise
pollution. Consequently this serves negatively as increased pollution disturbs local residents and
also it may discourage tourists from further entering the country. It seems that tourism is a very
important field in economy, but it needs a lot of careful attention, so that its effects do not
damage the environment.
Besides that, it also will give adverse impact on the residents in these areas that want to be
developed as tourist spots. For instance, many landlords and chalets operators at Pantai Kok,
Langkawi were forced to surrender their title to the authorities to develop a five-star hotel, golf
course and leisure center. Even though they be compensated, but it will have an impact on their
lives. Eventually, they will live to suffer and upended.
Another disadvantage is tourism can cause wastage. Although the tourism industry provides a
lot of profit and help in developing the country's economy but costs used in an attempt to
beautify the tourist areas are too high. For example, the government and private sectors have
invested a total of RM4.5 billion to develop Pulau Langkawi as a world class tourist resort. In
general, tourism is an extremely profitable process in loads of countries, especially those in
which the process of development continue to depend on this industry because this industry does
not require a lot of literacy and also it yields maximum with less investment. However, when the
area was turned into a resort area not managed to attract the attention of tourists. So it is a loss

and a waste of money investment. A government can buy or do something useful for the money it
spends on a development.
Tourists also bring various negative values of western life which is in contravention of
eastern culture such as making out in public and wearing indecent clothes on the beach .eg
wearing a bikini. Besides that, there are also tourists who drink alcohol in public. This action can
influence teenagers who are easily influenced by negative things. Based on Utusan Pengguna
report on the behavior of young people who living in Pulau Langkawi drinking alcohol in public
places is one of the proof that western culture brought by tourists has influenced local
youngsters. Tourism undermines culture by commercializing it and this is often connected with
increasing litter, graffiti, vandalism and noise. Tourists also do not always respect traditional
cultures in Malaysia.
Rapid development of the tourism industry also has created many crimes committed by the
locals. Foreign tourists arrivals with various different types of images into the country have
prompted locals to cheat, steal, rob and rape. This was evident when the mass media often report
the loss of passenger baggage at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Berita Harian has
reported about a British citizen who had to pay 350 to a taxi driver to travel from the airport to
Salak Tinggi. Criminal cases could affect the countrys imahe in the eyes of other countries.
Likewise, terrorists and criminal could easily access a country in the name of tourists.
Moreover, plastic pollution is also a very serious problem from tourism. Many tourists drop
litter carelessly everywhere, especially, so drinks plastics and plastic packets. It causes soil
pollution and ruin the environment, this factor can affect local residents lives. Furthermore,
noise pollution also influences the local residents lives. It may not seem like a big problem, but
loud noises can scare animals out of the area and possibly even disrupt the local ecosystem.
The conclusion is many negative effects arising from the rapid development of the tourism
industry. Nevertheless, tourism has become one of the most appreciated sources of income for
many countries of the world. Tourism is the fastest growing industry in this world because it is a
very good of a earning foreign currency. All these disadvantages should not stop our nations
efforts to move forward in the tourism industry because the government can take a variety of
alternative measures.
