while hunting
IPOH: A 29-year-old man, believed to be a hunter, was found dead with a head
wound from a gunshot on July 9 in Teluk Kulat, Pulau Banding, about 180km from
here.
Gerik district police chief, Supt Jamalani Mat Isa said police were tipped off on the
discovery of Khairul Azizan Zaidis body by a man, aged 24, at 7.20am.
According to the man, he found the body while putting a fish trap in the area at
about 5am. After interrogation, police found the complainant was a friend of the
victim and had hunted with him.
He is being remanded for seven days from July 10 to help in the investigation, he
said Wednesday.
Jamalani said police also remanded another male suspect, aged 41, for five days
from July 11 to assist in the investigation.
Police found the two suspects do not have a criminal record, he said, adding that
the 41-year-old suspect was, however, tested positive for drug.
Jamalani said the body was sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, here, for a
post-mortem.
He said police were investigating to determine if the death was a deliberate act
under Section 302 of the Penal Code, or an accident. - Bernama
