Leadership Training Program
Specific training programs could cater to adult learners in the workplace. One example of
a training program in the workplace is promoting leadership among employees. The intended
audience members for the leadership training program are managers, supervisors, and employees
of life coaching facilities. There are also goals and objectives for the leadership training program.
Goals could include improve motivation among life coaches and increase job performance, such
as acquiring new coaching clients. Objectives for the program include providing positive
reinforcement and feedback 80% of the time during coaching sessions, attending ongoing
leadership trainings on a monthly basis, and providing each new manager and/or supervisor with
senior coaching mentors.
Providing leadership training for life coaching facilities will also produce a positive
impact on adult learning among these employees. According to the website
www.lifecoaching.coms article What is Life Coaching? (2016), life coaches are individuals that
provide consulting, advise, motivation, or mentorship to those in need for various reasons (para.
2). However, positive work environments must also be encouraged during the training to
promote motivation and collaboration among learners. According to the Arkansas Leadership
Academys website (2016), leadership training is referenced as providing positive work cultures
and collaborative learning while encouraging adult leadership (para.1). Providing positive work
cultures would benefit adult learning and encourage motivation among these learners.
Along with providing positive work cultures, promoting leadership and modeling
leadership qualities could also motivate adult learners. Leadership and motivation among adult
learners includes the following results: Improved job performance, gaining a strong sense of
purpose, and sparking intrinsic and extrinsic learning. According to the Managements Study

3
Guides website article Leadership: Intrinsic vs. Extrinsic Motivation (2016), leadership is
referenced as needing to achieve a combination of intrinsic or internal willingness and extrinsic
motivation for successful organizations or businesses (para. 2-3). Employees could be guided by
managers, supervisors, and senior mentors to understand the importance of intrinsic or extrinsic
learning and the positive impact on adult learning and/or leadership in the workplace.
