2Q Finance Report

I hope you enjoyed the long holiday weekend.

As you know, Friday marked the deadline for our 2nd Quarter report to the Indiana Election
Division. Our finance team worked hard to meet our goals. I want to take this opportunity to
provide you an update, prior to the information being publicly released. Our report is due by noon
on July 15, 2016.
Thanks to a lot of great work by the Governor, Lt. Governor, and our entire team, Mike Pence set
a new state record for fundraising during 2Q 2016! While these numbers are preliminary and still
subject to slight adjustment before the report is filed, I can confidently report to you that
Governor Pences campaign raised over $4.1M during the three-month period. This total
includes more than $2.6M in direct contributions and $1.5M in in-kind donations. These
impressive numbers mean the campaign will end the quarter with a staggering approximately
$7.4M cash-on-hand and that is after we and our allies paid for and ran a combined $3M+ in ads
since May.
To put these numbers into perspective, in 2008, then-Governor Mitch Daniels reported raising
$1.8M during the second quarter and reported $2.85M cash on hand, compared to our $7.4M
cash on hand.
Moreover, Governor Pence raised $3.0M during the second quarter of 2012 and reported $5.6M
cash-on-hand during his first campaign for Governor. As a result, we have nearly $2M more in the
bank than he did when he first ran in 2012.

The work by our entire team and the many people who have contributed puts Mike in a very
strong position heading into the home stretch of the campaign. Our opponent began the 2 nd
quarter trailing Governor Pence by more than $2.5M cash-on-hand. While he is being bankrolled
almost exclusively by labor unions and liberal activists, he has spent heavily from his own bank
account on advertising trying to convince Hoosiers to ignore his record as a lobbyist who
bankrupted the state while at the same time doing side work for Enron. The press is also beginning
to expose his record as Speaker recently running several stories about the insider perk he gave
himself before leaving office: a taxpayer funded health insurance for life at a cost to Hoosiers that,
to date, has already exceeded 200k.
As the campaign enters this next phase, we will continue to be aggressive. We again set recordbreaking fundraising goals to ensure Mike has the resources to push back against the onslaught
of negative ads by Gregg and his liberal allies. John Gregg hasnt made any progress in the polls
(both public and internal), he enters the 3rd quarter in a precarious financial position, and he
continues to struggle to raise money. This is a major reason why he launched a misleading ad just
this week. He must make his play with negative ads now or risk being cut-off by the unions and
Democratic Governors Association.
It is not going to work. Thanks to your support and work, Governor Pence has the resources to
highlight Indianas record of success and respond.
