By developing What makes an

Exemplary Library Media
Program, I have acquired the
knowledge as the Leader or
Informational Specialist, to apply
best practices in the Media
Center and to help make it an
environment conducive for
students to learn. As a tool, it
has helped me educate students
on the importance of utilizing
the resources available in the
Media Center as they conduct
research for their classroom
assignments. (AASL 5.3)
The Equipment Operations
assignment will allow the
Teacher, Informational Specialist
or Program Administrator to
learn the basic components and
the operation of the schools
various pieces of equipment.
Understanding what tools are
available for use will afford the
Teacher, Informational Specialist
or Program Administrator the
ability to be more effective in
assisting patrons that utilize the
Media Center. (AASL 5.3; PSC
7.d; NCATE 1.e)
Through the development of the
Library Facilities plan, as the
Program Administrator or
Leader, I would be able to

properly manage this facility and
utilize concepts learned to make
the Media Center a welcoming
environment for student
learning. As a resource, the

financial and material) it is
crucial to review available
resources and strategically craft
an action plan to utilize those
resources this assessment
affords the participants the
chance to prepare accordingly
