1.0 INTRODUCTION
This is to inform you of our new concept in pie recipe that we have been create for a very long
period. We will soon be dispatching its sample and hoping that our product will get their
attention to all Malaysian and hoping that our products will be accepted in the bakery business
market. In Malaysia, it is divided into two broad types of pie eaters, those who have only eaten
Malaysian made pies and those who have relished each buttery crumb of pie crust such as from
Australia, New Zealand and to a lesser degree, America.

2.0 Product Description

i)

Product
We are currently in making of our product which is pie. In Malaysia, it is divided
into two broad types of pie eaters, those who have only eaten Malaysian-made pies and
those who have relished each buttery crumb of pie crust such as from Australia, New
Zealand, and to a lesser degree, America. With the exception of some of their dessert
pies, we plan to run our first new product pie concept in Malaysia.

ii)

Competition
Nowadays, there is a lot of pie business open like mushrooms blooming after the
rain. Pie Pop Bakery needs to compete with this business of pie in order to survive in the
market. As entrepreneur, competitors are a positive way for our company to improve the
business. We also can find out the strengths and weaknesses of our business if we have
competitors. Due to competition, we want to keep the price point at lowest as fair as
possible to keep us in competition with other competitors.
Our first competitor is Secret Recipe. Secret Recipe was founded in 1997 and its
well-known for the renowned for its extensive range of fine quality gourmet cakes and
pies. It has since evolved to become one of the fastest growing lifestyle cakes, pies and
cafe chain. Pies menu that usually customer aim at Secret Recipe and menu that will
compete with our products are Chicken Cornish pie which they marinate the chickens
themselves and cooked with assorted veggies with their special sauces and lastly
stuffed in pie pastry. Next is Black Paper Lamb pie, they also marinated the lamb
themselves and grill that lamb before stuffed it into pie pastry and lastly is Shepard pie
which consist of mash potato with gravy. As for their advertisement, they have their own
website and also have make Facebook account as well as Instagram account to market
their products. Besides that, they also use billboards as their marketing strategy. Their
packaging also is one of their strategies to attract public by using red color as their
signature.
Next is A Pie Thing. A Pie Thing is well-known with its deserts which are pies and
they are famous with their savory selection, stuffed with the likes of beef, chicken, lamb,
or even chili con with cheese or spinach with assorted veggies. The kitchen constructs
its creations with short crust pastry, prudently shunning puff pastries. As for their
commercial advertisement, they dont have a lot. They have their own blog to expose

their products to public as well as Facebook and Instagram accounts. But, even though
they dont have a lot of advertisements, the taste of their pies is the reasons why a lot of
customers keep coming to their shop.

iii)

Features of product
We are currently decided to make two types of pie pop which are fruit and pizza
pie pops. For fruit pie pop, it will come in three types of fruits such as banana, strawberry
and blueberry. For pizza pie pop, it will come in three types of pizza such as cheesy
pizza, pepperoni pizza and extravaganza pizza. The main ingredients used in making
pie are wheat flour, fat, water, salt, and eggs. However, there are additional ingredients
we used in making pizza pie such as black pepper, cheese, button mushroom,
pepperoni, Prego sauce, cheddar, mozzarella and minced chicken.

Special feature of product


The special feature about our pie pop is we serve it by featuring basil leaves which
will provides nutrients for each serving that are great for our body. It contains 6% vitamin
of A, 5% of vitamin C and 98% of vitamin K. Another special feature of our products is
we will make it into pie pops instead of ordinary-shaped pies. Our pie pops are new tasty
twists that are made with all-natural ingredients. Each pie pop is lovingly topped and
packaged at our facility.

Why should your product be on market?


As we would like to achieve high customer satisfaction, we have plans to expand
the company through further retail outlets and are focused on developing a business
model that is favorable to franchise possibilities. With an exclusive import license that
could be used to sell frozen product through supermarkets and bulk wholesale food
chains, Pie Pop Bakery could quickly and clearly establish itself as the market leader.
We have identified four main keys to our success. The first key is to secure stores
in highly visible locations. The second key will be our unique value-for-money product
line. Thirdly, we will focus on superior customer service and education, and lastly, to be
employee retention through training and internal promotion.

Who will likely purchase your product?


Target market is a group that is chosen because they are the potential customers
for our business. All the marketing strategies that have been planned are used to
influence the target market. From there our company can introduce our service to our

potential customers. Our current target market is young, college-aged adults and
households with one to three people that have different preferences in choosing the
foods. They like to purchase items that are not only taste good but also come in great
quality food. We must alert about our customers satisfactions and needs so that the
possibility of them to be loyal with our product is high. We also choose a strategic
location and market place to distribute our product. Target market that Pie Pop Bakery
currently focuses on:

Geographic
Our cafe is located at East Cost Mall, Kuantan, Pahang which is the capital
city of Pahang and it also have the biggest populations than other states in Pahang.
Our cafe location is also near with schools, colleges, residential areas and
restaurants.

Demographic
Our main target is to sell our products with reasonable and fair price to our
target customers.
Pie Pop is up to sell for RM4.50 per piece with a small selection of freshly baked

pies for every age and income groups. Our largest target market is young adults,
families with children, and people aged from 15-24 years old which includes students.

3.0 OBJECTIVE
The objectives of our company are:
3.1 To attract the attention of the Malaysia citizens to love pie.
A product that is different from other product. Our company is the first company in
Malaysia to produce pizza pie and pie pop. We want to offer the pie that suits local taste by
offering wide range of flavors.
3.2 To achieve high customer satisfaction.

Our company also caters the demand of healthy and tasty food. The important things of
our products are its will be made fresh daily and sell the food while its still hot to customer
through our retail stores.

4.0 SIGNIFICANCE
The rational of our products to customers are:

We use only organic products thus it caters the needs of organic based food. Our
products are free of genetically modified ingredients and can boost energy.
4.2 Medium to high income group people for market demand.
We sell our products with competitive price and suitable for all ages to eat the fruit and
pizza pie pops. Our company produces interesting packaging for customer easy to eat and bring
the pie to anywhere.

Marketing director are involved in developing marketing campaigns to promote a product,
service or idea. It is the varied role that includes planning, advertising, public relations, event
organization, product development, distribution, sponsorship and research. The responsibilities
of a marketing director are vary depending on the size of the organization and sector, and

whether the focus is on selling a product or service or on raising awareness of an issues that
affects the public.
Four basic marketing strategies that can be used to market our products are:

Promotion strategy
Location strategy

5.1 PRODUCT STRATEGY


In terms of product, the product must fulfill the customer needs and wants. There is some
element that our company looks for product strategy.
Packaging
The product that offered to the consumer must be in an interesting and attractive
packaging. It is very important for the product to be recognized by the consumer. The
packaging that we make is innovative and will attract customer attention, which also fulfill
its significant objective; giving full protection to our product.
Design
Our design that we made is satisfying to the target market of our products. In
designing products, we came out with interesting design and can be easily recognize by
our customer.

Quality
In term of quality of the product, our company must maintain and increase our
quality level of the product especially when we are in food industry. We want to avoid the
product from any defects and can hold on stick as long as we can while our customer
enjoying eating the pie pops. We also choose flavors that will be love by most people in
order to attract them with our products which we come with two concepts that based on
chocolates with fruits and the other one is with pizza concepts. This is very important in
order to increase our sales.

5.2 PRICE STRATEGY


The price strategy is the main point to achieve our business objectives and goals. In
term of pricing, the pie pops that are still new in Malaysia must be at reasonable prices with the
good quality food that produced compared to the competitors which the customer can afford to
buy and will enjoy the taste of the food.

5.3 PROMOTION STRATEGY


We also having some promotions as one of our marketing strategies to face our competitors
and improve our market reputation in the future. Based on the competitors that we have studied
about their commercial advertisements, we all have decided our promotion strategy. In term of
promotion, we use a lot of type of channel to market our products to the public. We use
pamphlets and banners to introduce our products to the public. For pamphlets and banners we
decided to distribute it in residential area and also places that near with school, college etc. for
example Taman Tas, Permatang Badak, Taman Guru, Indera Mahkota, Tanjung Lumpur,
Tanjung Api, Bukit Sekilau etc. From there, the consumer will gain their information about the
food and willing to buy the food. Besides that, the food that is still new in the market can be
introduces and promotes by using the Facebook and Instagram accounts. This is because it can
create awareness and persuade customer to buy our products. We also have decided to use
billboards as our marketing advertisement. Locations that we have chosen are in area Jalan Ubi
Kayu, Kuantan and also Highway Gambang. These locations are the most people use as their
alternative road. Other than that, we are also use commercial advertisement to promote our
product. We have decided to advertise our product on TV3 and also on radio Hot FM. For TV3,
we choose to do the commercial advertisement only on weekend as weekend is the time where
most people spend their time at home watching television. As for Hot FM we choose to do the
advertisement on weekdays every morning because it is the peak hours where most of people
are going to school and work will listen to radio either while in car or in public transportation

5.4 LOCATION STRATEGY

Distribution strategy is very important aspect in marketing. Distribution strategy is aimed at


establishing a structured and controllable distribution system to ensure the product reaches the
target customer. In term of distribution strategy, we decided to rent an outlet for our bakery
business cafe in East Cost Mall. The location is quite strategic because it is in the middle of
people attention. A lot of people spend their times there and usually food store and stall will be
their must visit. This kind of place has their regular customer and make public aware of the Pie
Pop brand name and prefers to choose the product.
Our cafe concept offers a friendly and personalized full-service dining experience

for

customers and incorporates a modern contemporary and vibrant interior concept with comfort
ambience, and great food. It provides a great respite for customers to enjoy good food and
quality time with friends, family or associates, after a long day at work.
When our customers feel this sense of belonging, our stores become a haven, a break from the
worries outside, a place where you can meet with friends. Its about enjoyment at the speed of
life sometimes slow and savored, sometimes faster. Always full of humanity.

6.1 Financial Plan


Before Pie Pop company start the business or project, planning the business or project
requirement is important. The Financial Plan act as a point where all the information in the
Administration and Marketing Plans are collected and summarized to give a picture of how
much the business will cost to run.

7.0 CONCLUSION

We hope our products will be accepted among people who love to eat and always up to
try new food. We promised to make only great quality food and will continue to create a lot of
tasty menu for our pie pops. We will make sure our food brand will be able to compete with
other food brands as our products have its own special features which are the ingredients and
its shape that are completely different from ordinary pies. It is also where we want to create a
new trend where people will be talking about our products for its deliciousness and uniqueness
from other pastry food. We hope our products will make its debut to the public soon so we can
start achieving all of our goals that we have established.
