Goal 1: Form and build student relationships. Goal 2: establish self-care strategies into my practicum experience. Goal 3: Get involved with fitness / health / wellness at the school.
Strategy 1.1 Build an interest survey for students to fill in so that I have information to spark conversations. By getting to know my students I will be able to establish trusting relationships where students will feel safe and comfortable in my classroom. Strategy 1.2 Ensure that all students feel as though they are treated equally by calling on various students and giving opportunities to everyone. Strategy 1.3 Give students opportunities to pursue their own interests and guide their own learning. Strategy 1.4 Spend time giving lots of feedback so that students always feel as though I have given them many opportunities to achieve success.
Goal 2: Establish self-care strategies into my practicum experience
Strategy 2.1 Build relationships with other members of the staff for extra support during stressful times. Strategy 2.2 Incorporate yoga and stretching into brain breaks for myself and the students to help alleviate stress. Strategy 2.3 Put music on during work periods for a bit of enjoyment while we all work.
Goal 3: Get involved with fitness/health/wellness at the school.
Strategy 3.1 I have already expressed an interest in possibly coaching dryland training for a few of the teams. I need to ensure that I speak with the right people when the staff returns in August Strategy 3.2 Being building fun and dynamic ways to train student athletes. Strategy 3.3 Ensure that I also research modified exercises and stretching for students who may need it.
