Then sing a song, but this time with the
actions.
The children perform actions as they sing the
song.
The children listen to the sound and point to
the letters that form it. They read and repeat
words that contain the sound and letters, with
the help of phonics cards. Teacher plays the
first part of the recording for children to listen
And point the letters. She plays the second
part of the recording for children to repeat the
letter names, sounds and words in chorus.
The children see these words in the sentences
and learn a chant. The chant provides targeted
pronunciation practise within an engaging
context. The children look at the chant again
and identify the letters that create the phonics
sounds. The children choose the correct letters
for certain words. Teacher goes through the
answers with the class, asking them to come
up and circle letters.
