Resolution
Below are the steps to identify MAP changed by postings :

1. Search for MBEW-KALN1 (Cost Estimate Number - Product Costing) of the Material :
i.
Execute transaction SE16
ii.

Table MBEW (Material Valuation)

iii.

Enter the selection for fields :

Material

Valuation Area

Valuation Type (if there is any)

iv.

Click the Execution button

v.

Get the KALN1 entry

2. Get the List from table CKMI1 (Index for Accounting Documents for Material) :
i.

Execute transaction SE16

ii.

Table CKMI1

iii.

Enter the field KALNR (Cost Estimate Number for Cost Est. w/o Qty Structure)
with KALN1 from step 1

iv.

Remove the entry in field "Maximum No. of Hits"

v.

Click the Execution button

vi.

A list appeared as per the selection entered

vii.

Go to menu path "Settings" -> "User Parameters" and change to "ALV Grid
display"

viii.

Select the two columns for DATUM ( Day On Which Accounting Document Was
Entered) and UZEIT (Time of Entry)and sort in ascending order

3. Analyze the list :

i.

ii.

The list now is in chronological order

POPER indicates the posting period

LBKUM is the stock quantity before the corresponding posting

SALK3 is the stock value before the corresponding posting

VERPR is the MAP before the corresponding posting

From the list you will see how the LBKUM and SALK3 changed by the posting
and this will changed the MAP as :

MBMAPCHANGES

Symptom

The moving average price of some materials has changed in your ERP-system and you are not
able to explain what caused the change. You need to look into and analyze moving average price
changes however there is no specific standard tool, which would fully support this.
Other Terms
moving average price, price change history, v-price, v price, map, MAP, s price, sprice, statistical moving average price, ZMBMAPCHANGES, MBMAPCHANGES,
supportability tool, report, analysis, GLD
Reason and Prerequisites
The moving average price of materials can be changed by several different types of documents in
ERP systems, for example: material documents, price change documents, invoice documents,
production settlements or even credit memos or material ledger documents. Due to the complex
cross-application knowledge required to find all these documents it can be quite complicated to
access and review all relevant documents.
For such analyses transaction MR51 offers a detailed view that can be used to track price
changes, however this transaction cannot distinguish between postings made to the unrestricted
use stock and to the valuated special stocks 'E' and 'Q' therefore in some cases it is not reliable
and usable.
The method we recommended so far to overcome these limitations is explained in KBA
1506200. However, this is based on a long list of manual steps and an analysis in transaction
SE16, where the output is hardly interpretable for end-users and the navigation to reference
documents requires non-documented application knowledge. This new tool is meant to provide a
more user friendly alternative instead of this method.
Resolution
MBMAPCHANGES is a new English-only analysis tool which offers the following features:

Assemble an ALV list of all documents which have changed the stock quantity or
the stock value of the material entered on the selection screen
Distinguish between unrestricted use stock, sales order stock and project stock valuations

Enable forward navigation to reference documents

Highlight documents which have significantly changed the moving average price

Offer a documentation about the functionality and its general formulas and scenarios

The report MBMAPCHANGES is part of the Support Package specified below.
