PERSONAL STATEMENT
Please use this section to describe how you meet the criteria in the person specification for the post. If you are applying for a
teaching or curriculum leadership role please state your views of what effective teaching and learning are. (You may continue on up
to two separate sheets of A4 if needed.)

I have been involved in the development of video games at Pitbull and Dark Black. The
roles involved me producing concepts, 2d textures and 3d models for use in games.
Techniques, artistic skills and industry ties were fostered in the years I worked within this
industry.
Moving from the games industry to teaching allowed me to pass on this knowledge to
students at Newcastle College. I was predominantly involved in teaching FE, but this
has expanded to a role that covers both FE and HE.
My role involves the teaching and learning, the writing of modules and the assessment
of work. Pastoral care and the development of the curriculum are also requirements of
my role.

Promotion of course through advice and guidance events

I was required to write the Fda games design course that has grown from year to year,
with the further growth expected next year.
Keeping up to date with regular tutorials from digtal tutors and frequent converstaions
with Keving Preston. Although my current freelance requireemnts have not been game
related, my personal work involves keeping relevant. Course keeps me up to date with
current software being 3DSMax, Adobe suite, UDK4, ZBrush, XNormal and Mudbox.

Keving Preston, currently Lead Artist at CCP games in Gateshead is the course advisor.
However Kevin has given the desire to follow me to any new venture that may present
itself. I have used Kevin for live briefs, course writing and industry liaison.
