TANZANIA FELLOWSHIP OF EVANGELICAL STUDENTS

JANUARY-MARCH 2016 UPDATES

Students are at the center of TAFES vision:

- Students reaching students with the good news of
Jesus Christ.
- Students growing into life-long disciples of Christ.
- Students serving and strengthening the Church.
- Students having impact on the world around them
and the society.

Our Mission statement:

Our Core Values:

To Equip University and

College students with the
Scripture in Evangelism,
Discipleship and Leadership
Development thereby transforming the Campus, Church
and the Society

We are Evangelical:
The Bible is our standard & final
authority in all matters of faith &
conduct.

Our Vision statement:

To be a national movement
reaching every student in all
Universities and Colleges in
Tanzania with the gospel of
Jesus Christ

We are Interdenominational
and Nondenominational:
TAFES membership cuts across
various denominations and hence
provides a common forum for
worship. Tafes is not a denomination and does not align with any
particular denomination but recognises and identifies with the
local churches and serves them
by reaching out to students while
they are on campus
We are student-centred:
Operating primarily in tertiary
institutions and we are committed to students initiative and
leadership based on biblical
principles.

We are passionate about the

unity of believers:
As a result of our interdenominational and nondenominational
status, we provide the forum
where believers from different
denominations interact and relate
as members of the universal
Church the body of Christ.
pus
We advocate the practices of
excellence and integrity:
aiming at ensuring that our
students are academically good
and that they are of godly character with Christ as their role
model. Through this virtue, these
students become associates who
will honour God through their
lifestyles in bigger society.

Word from the National Director

Dear brethren, I salute you all in the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
First of all I would like to take this gigantic opportunity to really appreciate
your involvement in students Ministry
through TAFES, your financial support,
prayers and personal commitment to reach
students on Campuses. God bless you
abundantly.
This newsletter contains three months
updates of January to March,in these
months we have seen the hand of God
upon students, associates, staff team and
church partners.
We have had great moments since we
started our new ministry year from October 2015 up to date. We launched a ministry year with a slogan campaign of EACH
ONE REACH ONE, DISCIPLE ONE AND
TEACH ONE.
We are challenging students to reach the
non- believers on campus as our Vision
and Mission states. Also encouraging academic excellence and Integrity as one of
TAFES Core values.
We have succeeded to conduct leaders training seminars at fellowship level, small
group bible study workshops, evangelism campaign on campus and Discipleship
Training Seminar which was the climax, the theme this year was the Sovereign Lord
is my strength Habakkuk 3:19. It was very powerful going through the whole book
of Habakkuk and we concluded that no matter the situation, God is our strength. Get
more details below.

ASSOCIATES MINISTRY

Dar-es-salaam Associates having fellowship

with TAFES Ardhi students

The Associates fellowship is a very important arm in the

TAFES ministry. Below are just a few testimonies coming from the Associates fellowship
Dodoma: The Associates have started a mentoring
program to the students leaders (RSO) in that every
leader is attached to one Associate who will be accountable to the following;
- To mentor him/her especially in areas partaining to
leadership, academics and relationships.
- To advice and supervise the mentee to read atleast
one sound book every month and be able to report
what he/she has learnt from that particular bbok.
- To advice the leader on how he/she can use their
potentials to fulfill Gods purpose in their lives
Also Associates have decided to help Cu leaders to
have a uniform system of planning their CU programs
so as to ease implemantation and reporting, programs
like BEST-P, Small group Bible study which are core
TAFES programs are being emphasised.

Mwanza: Associates have started an innitiative to fundraise fr the coming events like Go- conerence which
will be held in December and next years DTS. Theyve decided that each Associate is to sponsor atleast 5-6
students from different CUs. Not only will these students be sponsored but they will be mentored and helped
in academic, social and economic matters.
Dar-es-salaam: The fellowship of Associates has decided to form a network (group) of all former National
Students Officials since 2007 to date that will enable them to be in touch with the ministry in the following
areas;
- Thier involvement in students affairs (campus programs)
- Their commitment in supporting the ministry financially.
Mbeya: Basic TAFES Program are being conducted by associates for example the Associate staff moves
from University to University teaching students during BEST-P sessions.
Kilimanjaro: Associates visited student fellowship
during the Associates CU visitation, this encouraged the
students so much that they now organise Bible study sessions to be togather with Associates.
We are so blessed to have Associates
who not only recognise and appreciate students ministry but also participate in reaching Students.
Associates normally have monthly
meetings at regional level, you are humbly
requested to participate in associates fellowships for more information visit the your
TAFES regional office or contact the Associates Ministry Director - 0762606896
