KU Leuven Culture Card

The KU Leuven Culture Card is indispensable to anybody who wants to experience culture in Leuven and
is valid for the whole academic year.
The Culture Card is available for 20 euro during enrolment at KU Leuven, KHLeuven, Lemmensinstituut
and Groep T.
After the enrolment period, you can still purchase a culture card until 1 April 2013 at: the K.U.Leuven
Registrars Office for students of K.U.Leuven, the Student Administration Office of your department for
students of KHLeuven, the Students Secretariat for students of the Lemmensinstituut , the Students'
Secretariat at Campus Vesalius for students of Groep T.

Sports card

Everybody who practises sports at the University Sports Centre or who uses the sports facilities must be
in possession of a personalized sports card.

With the sports card, you can ...

Use the gymnasiums, changing rooms, lockers, showers, etc., all free of charge;
Participate (for free) in introductory sessions and practices for practically any sport we offer;
Hire sports equipment (for free) from the doorkeeper and at the sports secretariat;
Use the swimming pool (for free) on the days and times when there is 'free swimming';
Have insurance coverage (for free) while you train at the University Sports Centre.

To use the facilities of the fitness centre Univ-Fit, you need an extra Fitness card!

Student bus pass

All KU Leuven students (except those with a credit contract, an exam contract, continuing education and
postgraduates) can request a student bus pass when they enrol. This pass enables students to use the
regular bus lines within the Leuven area. However, students do have to pay for the extra zones if they
travel outside the Leuven area.
The student bus pass is valid for one academic year and is partially financed by the city and the various
institutions of higher education in Leuven.

The rules:

Insert the bus pass in the yellow device every time you board a bus. Keep your bus pass in a safe
place where it doesnt get folded or damaged so that it wont block the device.
To avoid abuse, write down your first and last name on the pass. This must be the same name that is
printed on your student card. This card is for personal use only, and you are personally liable if it is
used incorrect.
Make sure you always have your student card with you. The student bus pass is only valid in
combination with your student card. The driver and bus conductors may ask you to present both at
any time.
In case of unlawful or incorrect use of the student bus pass, the fines of De Lijn are applied and are
imposed on the original owner of the bus pass. Examples of offences: exceeding the Leuven area
without paying for the extra zones, use by a person who is not allowed to use a student bus pass or
using a bus pass that does not have a first and last name written on it, using a bus pass of another
institution, using a bus pass other than your own.
