Whats New?
The AutoPLANT Plant Design Workgroup V8i (SELECTseries 2) release is primarily a
compatibility and defect correction release.
The following outline identifies new features and enhancements in the AutoPLANT Plant Design
Workgroup V8i (SELECTseries 2).
For more information, see the Whats New? section in individual modules help file as well as
the Enhancements list in this ReadMe file.
AutoPLANT Plant Design Workgroup V8i (SELECTseries 2) Enhancements
The following outline identifies new features and enhancements in the V8i SELECTseries 2
release of AutoPLANT PDW (v08.11.07):

AutoCAD 2010 (32 bit) & RealDWG 2010 support

AutoCAD 2011 (32 bit) support

AutoCAD Architecture 2009 & 2010 (32 bit) support

AutoCAD MEP 2009 & 2010 (32 bit) support

ProjectWise V8i (SELECTseries 1) support

Bentley View V8i (SELECTseries 1) support

Bentley ProStructures (ProSteel) V8i (SELECTseries 2) support

Windows Vista (32 bit) support including Standard User with User Access Control
enabled

Windows 7 (32 bit) support including Standard User with User Access Control
enabled

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 support (SP1 required for ProjectWise enabled projects)

ORACLE 11g (v11.1.0.7) support

Support for copper tube solder joints

Auto-fit support for wyes and crosses

Complete XLSX file format support

AutoPLANT Plant Design Workgroup V8i (SELECTseries 1) Enhancements


The following outline identifies new features and enhancements in the V8i SELECTseries 1
release of AutoPLANT PDW (v08.11.06).

A single version of the Bentley Plant Framework that works with all AutoPLANT tools is
now part of the SELECTseries releases

Debug Mode: Ebs scripts can now be debugged in all supported CAD versions

AutoPLANT enablers are modified so they can get loaded inside RealDWG based
applications

A flag (IGNORE_DANGLING_FASTENERS) has been added to omit open end flanges


and fasteners while generating Isogen files. This flag can be customized via component
preferences

Post processing of Isogen files in Briefcase Mode now allowed

AutoPLANT Plant Design Workgroup V8i Enhancements


The following outline identifies new features and enhancements in the V8i release of
AutoPLANT PDW (v08.11.05).

Microsoft Windows Vista (32 bit) support

Microsoft Office 2007 SP1

AutoCAD 2009 (32 bit) support

ProjectWise 08.11.05 support with new capabilities and enhancements

Upgrade to ISOGEN to version 9.1

Reference drawing data refreshed on reload of XRefs

New calculation of Center of Gravity including fluid weight

Calculation of bolt lengths based on piping specification

New and updated vendor catalogs from Neutron, Pikotek, TK, Sesco and OMB

New capabilities in Specification Generation to improve ease of use

Total of more than 90 new features and enhancements

AutoCAD Related Features

Added support for AutoCAD 2009

Autohide option for dockable containers. (i.e. Component Preferences)

AutoPLANT Component Properties displayed in the ACAD palette.

Upgraded to support Crystal Report Engine 11.5

Upgraded to ISOGEN v9.1

XREF Bind support for Briefcase drawing in Project mode drawing and vice versa

Implementation of native ISOGEN based Center of Gravity calculations

Allow split criteria to be combination of any file(s)

Fluid volume for Center of Gravity now calculated using pipe ID instead of OD

The dialog box of the gear operator has been updated to include a check box which
allows the user to place an integrated roto chain links on gear operator

Option to update the Main Size information in xData via Update from spec dialog

Associated primitives tags linked to parent Equipment

Referenced drawing data refreshed on reload xRef

Updated placement design for supports including dummy leg BOP and flat turn elbow
supports

Refrigeration module regulators placement logic is updated and now by default all
regulators are drawn in vertical direction

Disallow user to save files opened as Read-Only and instead prompt to do SaveAs.

New Document Advanced Wizard is now supported in ProjectWise Explorer for any
Plant Project based document that is created or edited in from the ProjectWise Explorer
application

Framework

All NTEXT variables found in the Project Database have been converted to formats
supported by SQL Server 2005

Packager now uses Alias names pre-pended to folder names while packaging to make
the integration process more manageable

Packager now logs any read-only conflicts with PDW drawings while packaging and
does not require user intervention to continue the packaging process

Project Administrator now supports editing SQL Server 2005 Structures if Office 2007 is
installed
