Image Suppression Analysis in Superheterodyne Receiver Architecture
Instructions
1. This assignment is to be carried out individually.
2. Utilizing, simulink (Communication Toolbox) in Matlab, construct a superheterodyne
receiver chain as illustrated in Figure 1.
3. Analyze the visual characteristic of image signal being injected at the input of the
superheterodyne receiver.
4. Apply an input signal of x ( t ) = ARF cos RF t + Aim cos im t at the architecture of Figure 1
5. Explain quantitatively the image rejection and image flow in the architecture of Figure 1.
6. The analysis of the image rejection should be proved qualitatively and simulated.
