Acoustic (Alarm Beep) 09] Central Electronics

on Lock/Unlock
Go to Security Access and enter 31347

(2)-Acknowledgement Signals - Akustische

Set each or one of them to Yes

Acoustic Lock Menu

Just to note the beep is much quieter than the old 8P

beep, but still useful especially with advance key.
[09] Central Electronics
Go to Security Access and enter 31347
Adaptation channels, and you are looking for:
Acknowledgement Signals -Menuesteuerung
akustische Rueckmeldung
Set Yes
This enables a new menu setting in the car settings
screen which you can control (on/off) the lock (not
unlock) beep from the MMI, rather than using VCDS.

A4.

Adjust Switch Off

Speed For Parking
Plus

[10] Park/Steer Assist

Go to Adaptation
You are looking for:
Abschaltgeschwindigkeit fur Einparkhilfe or Switch off
speed for parking assist
Change to a speed you like (Standard is 10 km/h)

YES

This changes the speed at which the parking plus

system turns off after activation. I've set mine to 15
km/h so stays on longer.
Anymore anyone? I'll keep this updated as I come
across/work out more

Adaptation channels, and you are looking for:
(9) Tagfahrlicht-Tagfahrlicht nur in Schalterstellung
AUTO
Set Active
This turns off the DRLs when the light switch is in the
'O' (off) position. I.e no lights at all, even the DRLs are
turned off.

A10. Folding mirrors on

lock

This is not VCDS.

I think there is a menu you have
missed....
In the Owner's Manual, on page 61 it
reads...
"You can use the settings in the MMI
to have the mirrors fold in when you
lock the vehicle. The mirrors will then
fold in when you lock the vehicle and
fold out again when you switch
switch on the ignition".
The A3 does not have any form of
memory for the electric seats or
mirrors.

A11. MMI

The engineering menu can be accessed with the

following combination: Back button + Navigation button
1 (top left).
MMI Reset / Restart using monkey grip
-------------------The MMI system in the Audi A3 8V can be restarted by
following: Menu button + Confirmation button +
Navigation key 3 (top right). The MMI then shuts down

and restarts. Takes about 30 seconds.

A12. Needle sweep

A13. Passenger-side mirror

lowering when
reversing

What is the code for needle sweep?

Pretty sure needle sweep is:
17 - instruments/dash
07 - coding
Byte 1: enable bit 0
Do it
[52] DOOR ELECTRONICS, PASSENGER

Should work on A3.

TESTED

Passenger-side mirror lowering when reversing TESTED AUDI A3 1.2T 13

-------------------[52] Door electronics, passenger -> Long coding ->
Byte 04
CHANGE: Enable Bits 2 and 3

A14. Security Access to

modules

If certain module is locked, you should go to "Security

Access" and enter the proper code:
For [09] Central Electronics the code is 31347
For [03] ABS Brakes the code is 40168??????????
(doesnt seem to work)
For [10] Parking aid the code is 71679

A15. Set Oil Temperature

on all DIS Menus

[17] Instruments
Go to Long Coding
Byte 10, Bit 1. Display Oil Temperature
Tick Box
This enables the oil temperature on all DIS menus (the
ones you scroll with your left thumb) rather then just the
lap timer. Very handy as the S3 has no temp gauge!
Should be like this as standard really!
[17] Instruments -> Long Coding -> Byte 10
CHANGE: Tick Bit 1. Display Oil Temperature

- TESTED AUDI
A3 1.2T 13

A16. Start/Stop system

Switch off

Some time ago members were asking if there was any

way the Start/Stop system could be switched off
permanently using VCDS. Well I have just found this by
a member allenlin on the GolfGTI Forum.

Untested

1. access 19 Can Gateway

2. click on Adaption-10
3. go to channel (1) Start/Stop...... and change the
value from -50 to the new value of 50 - click Do It
4. go to channel (2) Start/Stop...... and again change
the value from -50 to the new value of 50 - click Do It.
If anyone wants copies of the VCDS screen for doing
this send me a PM with your email address and I will
send you a PDF file.

A17. Visual confirmation of

comfort closing -

A18. Visual representation

of the parking aid
(Audi Parking System
APS)

I assume this will work but, not yet having an 8V, I have
not tried it, although my try it on my current 8P and see
if it works the same on that.
-------------------[09] Central Electronics -> Adaptation ->
Acknowledgement Signals Comfort closing ack???
(need to check it back)
CHANGE: Set Yes
[10] Parking aid 2 -> Long coding -> Byte 2 ->
CHANGE: Set Bit 0 - visual representation parking
