PROJECTS

Optical Character Recognition

Feb 2014
Developed an Optical Character Recognition system using MATLAB that could recognize the characters and
numerals of the English Alphabet and also translate the text detected in a scanned document to an audio
output.
Used Neural Networks and Back Propagation Algorithm to implement Supervised Learning of the English Alphabet.
Gesture Recognition and Hand Tracking
March 2015
Developed a Gesture Recognition cum Hand Tracking system using MATLAB that could trace the movement of
hands or track any moving object in front of a camera. The gesture could be deciphered and particular
actions/commands could be executed accordingly.
Used a Multilayer Neural Network for identifying hand gestures.
Text Detector
March 2015
Developed a Text Detector system using MATLAB that could extract text area from any image and then
recognize the character using OCR.
Used properties of alphabet e.g. Uniformity, Constant colour intensity.

LEADERSHIP / ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

Co-coordinated the event Open Simulation in TECHNEX15, the annual techno-management festival of IIT
(BHU).
Coordinating the event Mosaic, an image processing Event in Udyam16, the annual technical fest of the
Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT(BHU).

ACHIEVEMENTS / EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Stood FIRST in the Resonato, a ROBOTICS event of TECHNEX14 in which a certain task was to be completed
using resonance of a manual bot and an autonomous bot.
Stood SECOND in Funckit, the hardware simulation event in UDYAM15, the annual technical festival of the
Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT (BHU), in which an effective airport gates management system was to
be simulated in Proteus then to apply in real time(hardware).
Stood THIRD in Mosaic, the image processing and machine learning event in UDYAM15, the annual technical
festival of the Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT (BHU).
Was a finalist in the Open Software event of TECHNEX15.
Developed an autonomous line following robot using ATmega16 microcontroller.
Developed a remote controlled soccer playing robot.
Extra-Curricular interests: Badminton, Football, Chess.
