9. Sub-Contractor is responsible to supply the approved material, execute and
complete the work in all respects as per the contract specifications and
agreement.

8. PROCEDURE
8.1.

General

1. The works shall be performed as mentioned in this procedure and the quality
assurance requirements shall be consistent with the relevant sections of Quality
System Procedure Manual of Contracting company as well with the Project Quality
Plan.
2. Shop/Design drawing to be strictly complied with at the site.

5. If any protection, rerouting, termination or removals of services are required for
the smooth progressing of work, it will be discussed and written approval will be
obtained from Employer as appropriate.

8.2.

Material

1. Concretive 1320, a two component polyurethane system, for sealing cracks,

which cures to form a flexible and impermeable seal.
2. Concresive 2200 bonding agent.

8.3.

Substrate Preparation

1. Remove surface laitance and contamination from area, centred on the crack
50mm wide and along the length of crack, using power wire
brushing, high
pressure water jetting or light blasting.
2. If packers are being used, drill holes along the centre of the crack to accept the
packers. The centre shall be 1-1.5 times the depth of the crack, but
not more than
300mm apart.
3. Use oil free compressed air to blow out the length of the cracks to remove dust
and debris.
4. If flanged injection ports are used, use Concresive 2200 as the bonding agent.
Apply mixed Concresive 2200 to the bottom of the flange at the perimeter. Ensure
that the
paste does not block the port. Use a nail or piece of wire inserted
through the port to
locate the port over the centre of the crack.
5. When all the ports or packers have been placed, apply Concresive 2200 in a strip
20mm wide and 2-3mm thick between the ports and centred on the crack.
6. The paste shall be forced into the substrate to ensure intimate contact. Make sure
the paste seals around the packer or port. Allow to cure.

7. If the crack is in a wall or suspended slab and both side can be reached, prepare
both sides in the same manner but centre the injection ports between the ports
on the opposite side.

8.4.

Application

1. Start the injection process from one end of the crack. In case of vertical cracks,
start from the bottom of the crack and work upward.
2. Thoroughly blend and mix 2 components (A & B) of Concresive 1320 for at least
1 minute, using slow speed drill with paddle attached, ensuring a uniform colour is
achieved. Pot life as per the manufacturer recommendation is 20 min / 35C
3. Pour the mixed resin into the injection gun and connect the injection gun to the
port in the lowest point of the crack.
4. Inject resin until it starts to flow from the next port, then close off the port being
injected and move to the port from which the resin is exuding.
5. Repeat the process of injection at a steady rate until the whole length of the crack
has been injected.
6. Allow to cure overnight then remove the injection ports and grind off the paste
over the cracks if required. Final curing to be done for 7 days.
